Conversation cards - I love it! I can imagine that Jim and Pam would have a little bit of awkwardness on their first date... there's just so much pressure there. And Lady and the Tramp... LOL. I could make a really mean Pam/Karen joke here, but I'll refrain. Just too easy. But keep going with your story! :)

Author's Response: Thanks a lot!  People seem to be making funny parallels to Lady and the Tramp, but I swear I didn't think of that when I wrote it.  :)  I'm hoping to put the last chapter up tonight or tomorrow morning.  I'm waiting for the writing mood to strike me. . .

Oh my. I love the play on "When Harry Met Sally." Such a great idea, and so great for Kelly and Andy. They deserve the spotlight for a little while. I wonder where else they'll run into each other, and what will happen... because you know what Billy Crystal says in WHMS... "men and women can't be friends!" hee hee.

Author's Response: Hee, thanks so much, I'm glad that you enjoyed it!  And I'm so excited that you want to read more!!!  And WHMS is possibly the greatest rom com ever made, couldn't resist making a play on the title.  Thanks again for reviewing, I appreciate it!

Author's Response: Thanks for being patient with the buildup...and liking it! Thanks so much for your review.

gah! oh my! i definitely didn't see that slap coming! but i can understand her anger and frustration. I love your writing and can't wait to see where you go with this. What an interesting AU to explore with these two.

Author's Response: Thanks! I wanted to try a little different take on the aftermath of Casino Night. Glad you liked the start.

Summary:

This is an idea I've had for a long time. It is inspired by the very end of the Six Feet Under series finale (hence the title), and it seems that the 55 word style would be perfect for it. Each chapter will focus on a different Office character. 20 chapters are planned.

I do not own these characters, and would not do this to them if I did. No copyright infringement intended.

i'm definitely into this, but i'm worried about how you'll deal with the central characters. potential to be really sad! but yes, the series finale from six feet under was totally incredible. great idea to mix with our beloved office.

Author's Response: It will definitely be very hard to write the central character deaths. Thanks for your review!

this one, and the blurb about phyllis, really got to me. ouchc, poor ryan. i'm worried that this is only going to get more and more sad... yet i can't stop reading!

Author's Response:

At the very least, the further we go, the longer lives each of the characters will have lead.

Thanks for reading!

Oh, I LOVE this chapter. I tried to write something from karen's perspective, post break-up, but it was nowhere nearly so dark and lonely and honest as your story. I really feel for her. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Oh, I was so happy to see an update to this story. I had to laugh at Andy's question, but I love how their friendship is evolving and how he's helping her through the rough time. It really shows he has a serious side. And I'm loving your insights into Karen's character and how she is slowly seeing that Jim wasn't right for her, but that not all men are evil, and the right guy IS out there.

Also, this was hilarious: "His love, his concern, must be the one thing keeping him from boarding the express bus to Boner-town."

HAHAHA. oh, this one made me laugh out loud. this series makes me crack up, especially the ones about michael and phyllis. i always thought phyllis had this, like, motherly desire to get pam and jim together. but perhaps she has other, far less matronly desires going on. Oh my! Can't wait to see what Pam does after a few drinks.

Author's Response: I was going to do Pam earlier (TWSS), but as she is definitely my favorite Drunk! character, I might hold her until later. Phyllis is an enigma, but I think she's hussy-tastic. Thanks for the review questionforyou.

EW. Sufficiently cringe-worthy. But also very funny. I love that she slaps him. Hee.

Author's Response: I'm glad that you could sift through the cringyness to find the funny. I know, Angela is slap-happy. She's hit Toby and Dwight...that I can remember, at least. Thanks for the review questionforyou.

OH. MY. GOD. That bowling-ball line just gave me the best laugh I've had in awhile. You are awesome. I can't believe I am going to be in the same place as Kate (Meredith) at the Convention!!! She is my fave.

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked that line. I was trying to come up with something that would be shocking to Jim but not overly gross. Have fun at the convention! and thanks for the review questionforyou.

Wow. I really enjoyed this. I liked hearing things from Karen's perspective, and what her life was like away from Jim, with her friends. Did she notice when Jim called her Pam, though? Ah! Also, I love when her friend says something about Karen pulling a "Felicity in Scranton." That was original and cute. And the "I'm close..." I thought I was a giant pervert; then I read Karen's thought. I like this Karen a whole lot. Someone needs to write her post-getting-dumped by Jim roadtrip fic. ALSO: I thought it was SO realistic, Karen's friends referring to Pam as the "crazy ex." Girls get catty and are so quick to label "crazy" sometimes, especially when they're territorial. And we KNOW Karen is.

lastly, my friend erica, who likes to force me to go out to overpriced trendy restaurants in nyc, brought me to kittichai this spring. the chocolate-covered spareribs are really delicious. and it is quite trendy, so, good researching with that!

Author's Response: first of all, i really appreciate you writing so much! how lovely to have so much feedback. it was really valuable for me to have a karen POV piece; i have not ready many, if any at all. although i am clearly a jam addict, i thought the least karen deserved was her side of the story.\r\nyes - karen noticed when jim called her pam. that might be a bit over the top, but when you have someone on the brain, it\'s hard to shake them; i can see it happening.\r\noh, the felicity in scranton - i\'m glad you liked it.\r\nkaren is definitely a pervert... what i really wanted to do was create a climate that was funny and tragic, and I think the \"I\'m close\" moment (hopefully) hits both those categories.\r\nhmm... karen roadtrip fic? with janis joplin on repeat? maybe. i love the idea - you should write it!\r\npam as \"crazy ex.\" i don\'t really know how else karen\'s friend would know her. karen likes pam (or, she did), but not enough to talk about her to close friends. i can imagine her relating: jim had a crush on this girl. jim still has feelings for her. this girl bared her soul and went over the boundaries of appropriate. karen\'s friends would only gleam from the situation that pam is crazy and should be avoided at all costs.\r\noh poor pam! i\'ve been abusing her quite a bit lately...\r\ni\'m glad kittichai was a good pick! it was at least a 30 min search when i was at work to find something that would fit...\r\nthanks so much for your comments.

Also, I love the Charlie Brown analogy at the end of this chapter. Such an excellent simile! or metaphor... can't remember which is which.

which is awesome, considering i teach college english.

Author's Response: i\'m glad it worked! it\'s a little silly, but i think karen\'s mood at the end of that piece is similar to feeling like a \"blockhead.\"

Summary:

Karen gives Pam props for the last year. I desperately need these two to have a friendly parting, so this is me fulfilling my own wish.

Oh, I hope that these two have some kind of interaction in the season premiere and it's not just awkward silence. We've had more than enough of that on this show! Your description is very realistic - the interaction isn't totally 100% friendly, but it's civil. And I love the ending - that Pam was the only one who really wanted Jim for Jim. Even though I don't see Karen as a villain-type, I can't help but agree. Great job.

Author's Response: I don't really see Karen as the villain either, she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I can't blame her, though, because if I had Jim I wouldn't want to let him go either! Thank you!
