This picks up pre-merger and is spoiler free, a bit AU as well.  I began this back in October (maybe even September), and obviously the show has deviated quite a bit from what I speculated here.

This begins with angst, but there is a great deal of fluff, steam, smut, and silly...for several, several chapters.  My idea was to go beyond the happy ending, so to speak.

Okay, I'm calm now. I"m so glad you didn't give up on this story. I'm still waiting for the happy ever after, and that is what this story gives me. It's neither cheesy nor fluffly. It's exactly what these two deserve.

Yeah, the TWoP issues caused me to miss some updates as well - "Squirrel," "Girly Girl," and "The Mole" are a few of the continuing ones that were updated today, FYI.  :O)

I'm glad you were excited to see it!  There'll be one more chapter of this, and then it'll end -- BUT I'm going to try to do an Away From the Cameras for season three like I did last summer for seasons one and two.  So...it'll be angsty, but we all know it'll definitely have a happy ending!  (And I'm sure I'll wander into a fluffy one/two/three shot or two.  That was a poorly, poorly constructed sentence, wasn't it?)

I'm always distracted by songs in fic. They take me out of the story and into "real" life, if that makes any sense. The tension you have set up is fantastic. Bring on the next chapter!

Thanks for the input re: songs in fic.  It's very strange, because I'm finding that people either love it or hate it - rarely in between.  I've had lots of people say that they like to know either what I was listening to while I wrote, so they can listen to it as they read to set the tone, and I've had other people say they find lyrics and/or song references to be a total distraction.  (Your "real life" comment made total sense, actually.)  And as I was proofing this, I kept getting the nagging sense that the song references would be jarring, particularly for readers who are unfamiliar with the songs themselves (or worse yet, those who are familiar with them and hate them - heh.) 

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to review!

All right, beetfarm, here's the deal with "Only": I have not forgotten about it at all (and it's a priority, believe me), but the problem is that when I try to sort of force myself to write something when I'm not feeling it, I end up with crap.  Seriously. ;O) And the angst bug bit me on the butt recently (clearly), so I thought I'd write this series, get it out of my system, and then finish "Only."  I promise, though, there'll be an "Only" update fairly soon.  

And this story, since it's all planned out, will be finished really soon as well.  You have my word!
