Author's Response: Yeah, it is definitely a challenge to make a board game dramatic, but I'm trying. Of course, it's just a way to get Jim/Dwight, Dwight/Andy, and Jim/Pam interaction really. Yeah the Jim/Pam dynamic will become more apparent in upcoming chapters, but I'm not trying to make it overly mushy. The most angsty chapter was actually Pam's POV. Is it possible to be driven to the edge of my seat over reading about a game of Risk? :confused: Apparently it is. I'm having way too much fun reading this.
I really like the way that you are telling this from Jim's POV. It's not overly mushy, but still slightly sentimental. And I love how it's not completely centered around Pam. (Not that I don't love the stories from Jim's POV that do revolve around Pam, but this is a very nice change of pace.)
Oh and one other thing, though not completely. This is totally taking me back to HS when I worked on our school newspaper (I was the Ad Manager) and we would waste away hour lunches and breaks in the newspaper office playing RISK with each other off the networked computers. I'm totally missing that right now. *sniff* I think I need to run to Toys'R'Us and pick up a board game.

I really like the concept behind this story. I also like how it takes place after the show aired, but while the cameras are still rolling. I'm also really glad that you made some of the characters contemplate their decision to do nor not to do this.
My favorite part of this chapter is Phyllis's talking head. It's short and sweet and it's totally how I would have imagined it. Bobby just loves his Phyllis, doesn't he. It's so cute.

Yes! Yes! Yes! The emotions were so raw and true. Behind Jim and Pam's niceties, they truly are human beings and human beings are emotional, get angry sometimes and something like this is bound to happen. You wrote it so well.
My favorite part: "I’d describe it as you needing to get over this crap about having to be worthy of me"
Because that is exactly where I think a lot of the underlying tension is going to lie. If and when they have a real fight, I think there is going to be a lot of old insecurities surfacing.
Why do I love a good Jim and Pam fight? I think this is the second piece that I've reviewed where I really liked the fight. I feel like such a sadistic fan now.

I like this version ladama. I love Larissa. But now I'm really curious about the other two versions.
Author's Response: It's not really 'versions' I just rewrote the part after "how many times have I met Pam, zero" line a few times. There was one where Larissa basically tells Jim to 'fish or cut bait' with Karen (which I feel she's already hinting towards anyway) and other where she calls him out on his 'limbo' state (doesn't want to look unavailable to Pam, but doesn't want to ending things with Karen or take another chance on Pam). But I'm defintiely happiest with this 'version'.

Hmmmm, I think it's interesting that there is still some bitterness at the end of this chapter. Or at least I sense bitterness (and avoidance). I'm glad Pam worked up a little of that courage. She was always just a little stronger with Jim than she was with everyone else . She would stand up to him (I'm fine with my choices), even though it was for the wrong reasons. So, I do actually find this a little believable.
