Dinner, and what happened later. Post-Season 3.9 I absolutely love the way you started this story. What I mean is I love how it began in the middle of something already going on. It was like diving right in and I find the water extremely refreshing.
And the way you played Kelly and Pam's relationship was just absolutely perfect. It's this wonderful interplay of Kelly's enthusiasm, obliviousness and underlying kindness mixed with Pam's patience, acceptance, and her more overt kindness. (Can you tell that one of my favorite themes of The Office is all the different types of relationships that have formed over the years?)
I also love the awkwardness between Jim and Pam. I think you'll do just fine with that restaurant scene. :)
Jim and Pam’s first date is a significant event, but what of the time between the closing of the conference room door and dinner?
8 SB, I really like the similarities and the contrast that you showed in Jim and Pam getting ready for the date. It's so appropriate that you named this Chapter "Mirrors", because although they are doing pretty much the same thing and thinking pretty much the same things, they're images are reversed. One is returning to his old self while the other is exploring her newself. I love that!
8 Oh, how cute. They were both ten minutes early and only moments away from each other. I also thought it was a nice touch that they both pulled out a sentimental token to pass the time.
8 And the old Jim and the new Pam have arrived at their destination of common ground. Well done, SB! I liked a lot of lines in this Chapter, this is one of them: What’s more, she helped him see he didn’t need to fear the man who loved her

7 I really like first fight fics and I think you're handling it quite well. And maybe I like first fight fics, because I know some how these two characters will work it out (which is kind of funny to say, considering it really only is up to the writer). But it's how these two work out those differences that really makes the story, and I'm confident that you are going in the right direction. I really like how you have them contemplating not only what the other has said, but what they had said as well. I also really like how you have them realize that they both don't want this to end and they can't leave each other (Thank God, Jim didn't leave the apartment.) I think this is key, because it means that they understand that a fight is not the be all and end all.
10 Good God! BEST SEX EVER!!! I think my brain is scrambled and now I can't think. And how much do I love that this is extra long and you took your time with this chapter.

7 LOL!!! Love the Alley McBeal reference. Ahhh, I miss the days when that show was good, before it got bad, then got good again (with Downey Jr.), then got bad again (when Downey Jr. had to leave). And of course The Biscuit was adorable especially with his love for Barry White. Does this mean that Jim is going to turn into The Biscuit when he gets older? Is he going to invent women's shoes with heals that he can control with a remote so they can be shot up to a height that is similar to his own?
Anyway, this was a fun little blurb.

9 This . . . .is . .. .HILARIOUS!!! I am so loving it. What a fun and innovative concept. And you had me right at the beginning talking about Jim and Dwight going to Marvin Johnson’s Gourd Collection. Seriously, who comes up with that kind of shit! I mean, it is so something Dwight would do, but I just love how nochalantly Jim is going along with it. Brilliant! I want more.

8 SB, This is a fantastic take on the first date, or non-first date. I think it's very Pam Beesly (FNB or not) of her to be patient and to gently remind Jim that they have time and to understand that right now he may need a friend more than anything.

8 I loved this, pure and simple. I think it's so easy to get some of the beloved eccentric Office characters so wrong. Often times, authors can totally get one but then will be way off with another and turn them into a caricature. Not this story. As I was reading on, I kept waiting for the next character's voice to be just wrong (imo), whether it was that Meredith seemed to drink for no reason, Creed was crazy for the sake of crazy or Kelly, Dwight or Angela was just plain unreasonably impossible. Instead, what I found was that each of them were carefully crafted and slightly understated. I was able to feel empathy for them and they felt human. There was a reason that Meredith drank. Creed seems crazy, but there's a odd logic behind what he says. There's an underlying sympathy and kindness to Kelly. And Dwight and Angela also have their tender and vulnerable sides.
Very well done.
