Nasty?  Dirty?  I don't think so.  More like intense, passionate, and full of feeling.  I love that he realizes he can finally look at her without any fear or reservation and how she can't look at him at all "because everything about him at the moment was a little too much for her."  I love that Pam is the one who gives the green light and Jim doesn't hesitate.  So good.

Author's Response: thank you! I always like it when Pam gives the green light too.  Sure-of-herself Pam never gets old for me ;-)

What a great story idea and your Michael is perfect.  Clearly, he's not burdened by self-awareness, so it's really interesting to read his responses to the "three qualities" question.  So many ways this can go and I can't wait to read more.

Author's Response: lol thank you, yeah Michael sort of needs things to be pointed out to him... ;-)

Wendy, I love this idea so much.  Jim's inner thoughts are great and the secret code is so true.  Can't wait to see how you have them spending each hour.

Author's Response: I'm so glad you think so, Sweetpea, because I'm actually pretty terrified of writing from Jim's POV.  Glad to know it's working!  Thanks for reading!

Wendy, I spent many happy hours at the baseball field with my Dad and my older brother when I was little, so this just felt perfect to me.  Of course, Jim would want to take her there.  It's heartbreaking how much he wants her to be part of his life and I love how you having them dancing around the line that they both know is there but aren't prepared to completly jump over - yet!

...and I realize that this is what keeps me going.  Not just tonight, but for the countless hours spent trudging through a dead-end job.  She’s all the motivation I need, and it’s terrifying to think of moving on without that.

Beautiful angst.

Author's Response: Thanks so much sweetpea!  I'm glad I could bring back good memories for you in this little fic o' mine :)  Thanks for reading!

No way would I be in too much of a tizzy to say how great this chapter is.  I love the first-person Jim and there was so much sweet tension here.  He's trying so hard to hold it together.  Let's hope that resolve doesn't last all night!

Absolutely loved this.  You did a great job with Jim's dream...I felt that panicky feeling of not being able to move or talk and all the images flying at him...really nicely done.  And it looks like FNB's in charge now!  Look out, Jim!

Can't tell you how thrilled I was to get a first look at this.  Like if Dave Matthews called and asked me to give a listen to a new song.  Okay, maybe I'd be a little more thrilled with Dave calling me...but, come on!  I squealed when I saw you had them going to Stamford!  Loved Jim freaking out because Pam's in the shower and I really loved that he lost his temper with her, but apologized immediately and she let it go right away, too.  Can't wait for the road trip!

“You have to say ‘with my little eye.’”

“Pretty sure that's not an official rule .”

“Do it!” She demands, slapping me lightly on the elbow.  She’s lucky she’s cute.

This is a perfect little exchange!  I can hear both their voices and see Pam's grin.  So good.

Another great chapter!  Love Jim's heartfelt speech and Pam's "I don't mind."  I can't wait for them to get to Stamford!

I start to question my motives for even applying for the transfer in the first place, because the more I think about it, the more I realize that I’ve never actually pictured myself going there.  To be honest, I wanted to see her reaction.  I thought maybe she’d call my bluff, or beg me not to go, or maybe tell me the one thing I’ve always wanted to hear.  And just like that, I would stay.

I've always thought this was a big part of Jim's motivation for the transfer, Wendy, and you described it perfectly.  And what do you mean, "time flies"?  Jesus, you can't update fast enough for me!

I feel like a broken record, but this is just so good, Wendy.  I don't even mind you taking a page from Mose's book with this cliffhanger, because I know you're going to kill on your finals and come back to us with a huge payoff.  Tha anticipation just makes it that much sweeter, and THAT's what she said.

Author's Response: Haha, that IS what she said.  Thank you so much for the kind review, Sweetpea!  Yes, hopefully finals will be quick and painless and I can come back to this.  Thanks for all the support! :)

I didn't forget about the story, but just how great it is kind of faded a little, so I had to reread 3:00 to catch myself back up.  So good and 4:00 is even better.  You made me count on my fingers to see how many hours we have left, but that's kind of irrelevant.  If you took away the premise of this story it would still be a really good story.  You greased the wheel, now keep going.  Please?

Author's Response: Yeah, long updates will make you do that :/ But so glad you are still enjoying it.  And I will be sure to keep going! :)

Wendy Blue, I'm so happy to see this back, I did a little Pam-type bounce in my chair.  I want to give Pam a good hard shake and give Jim a big hug!  I do think that Pam felt punished by Jim moving to Stamford and I'm so glad he told her it wasn't his job to hold her hand.

Look, I know that writer's block sucks something awful.  If there's anything I can ever do - just have a chat or a few emails back and forth to get the blood going - please don't hesitate.

Author's Response: Sweetpea, thank you so much for the kind words!  It's good to know that people haven't totally given up on this thing :)  I'm hoping that the writer's block is a thing of the past now that I've got momentum, but the offer is much appreciated and I will most definitely keep it in mind the next time I'm struggling (the same offer extends to you as well!)

This is so...great!  </Jim>  The subject lines made me laugh out loud and Angela's "I like your sweater..." is hysterical.

Favorite bit:

If you decide not to marry me, I think I have a really good chance with Mose, but I'll have to move to Massachusetts to make an honest man of him. Just so you know, it's in the same time zone... :-)

More!

Author's Response:

Oh, thank you so much!  I love hearing people's favorite parts!  Being nice doesn't come naturally for Angela.  It's like her 'nice' muscle has atrophied.  I think that's part of the reason she's such a fun character to watch, and to write, also.

I liked that Mose part, too!  I may have had too much fun writing that part.  (Oooh, spin-off fic...!  Maybe a Bad!Fic - "Jim in Mose-achusetts")

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing.

Indigo Girls!  Oh, Michael!  I just love these.  All the pairings are great, but I really love the restrained hostility between Pam and Angela.

We need a bigger car.

Yay!! Parking Lot of Looooove!!!!

Author's Response:

"Yay!! Parking Lot of Looooove!!!!"  I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about.  Jim and Pam were in the back seat of the car playing Boggle.  Jim just has long legs and he found it difficult.  If you're read anything else into this, perhaps you've taken the slow train from Philly a few too many times.

SHUT UP, ANGELA! Sorry.  That party planning bee-yotch has been taking over my typing fingers every once in a while.  It's scary!  I'm back now.

I'm so glad you got that 'Indigo Girls!' was a Michael mistake and not a Kev mistake. Kev knows Go Gos.  Phew.

I'm having fun with restrained hostility in general with this.  And Angela is just hands-down fun to write.  I'm getting so excited for new episodes with all these crazy folks--I've missed them!

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing, Sweetpea!

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing!

I just finished a post in the forum about how I was worried that happy Jim and Pam might stifle the fanfic creativity and then I read this.

It’s deep and swaying and pulsing in the rhythm of her hips, moving her to walk like the hum of the air conditioner and the ringing of the telephones are a samba beat meant to be her accompaniment. The feel of his eyes on her as she travels from desk to desk makes her think she is Carmen or Cleopatra

So evocative of that feeling of being well and truly loved.  Really lovely.

Author's Response: Yay!! Thank you!  That's my favorite part ;-)

Perfect slightly-awkward-at-the-door moment and how I love, love, love Pam combing her hands through Jim's hair.  I like the "game of eye contact tag" because we've all been there and I could picture it exactly.  And the kiss!  Sigh
