New to writing in this fandom, but not new to fanfic.  I started on *NSYNC (yes, I'll admit to that), and then expaned into "Dawson's Creek."  I've also written several stories that are not fanfic, so I like to write.

I just found this story, and I love the plot.  I'm very excited to see where you are going with this, and eagerly look forward to the next update.

Author's Response: Thank you:)

Summary:

Jim Halpert takes a journey through his own personal inferno with a little help from the characters we know and love (or hate).  Will it lead to paradise and a reunion with Pam, or will he be sidetracked along the way?

A takeoff of the classic Dante Alighieri work The Divine Comedy.

I actually looked up the Inferno on Wikipedia last night, so I could understand the basic story.  None of my teachers or professors ever had us read it.  I'm really excited to see where you are going with it.  It's a welcome distraction from finals!

Author's Response: Thanks, pizzagirl!  I'm glad you enjoyed this and I hope you like the rest of it!

I've read my fair share of JAM fics, where everything is happy go lucky, and a few that have tried to explore a JAM-relationship that isn't all puppies & butterflies.  And I sometimes tend to like the latter more, because it allows the writer to explore a little more of what some of us were thinking when we watched the actual show, or things that the show didn't explore fully.  So I'm very glad to read your take on this.

I do agree with another poster who mentioned that Emily is seeing this with Jim-colored glasses, and we're only seeing the flashbacks from Jim's point of view.  Which, I feel, makes it that much more realistic to come out of reading this having mixed emotions on Pam, because I think that is truly what the Jim you write is feeling -- mixed emotions for how everything played out.

I'm eagerly looking forward to where to you continue to take this!

Author's Response: Thanks pizzagirl20. That\'s why I wanted to write this one -- to explore some of the darker parts of relationships that the show doesn\'t show. And yes, obviously Emily is wanting to see Jim in the most positive light -- she likes him, right? And Pam is just some chick who broke his heart once already, so I think she\'d try to give Jim the benefit of the doubt (whether he deserves it or not). So I\'m glad that makes sense to you. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

With each chapter, I feel like we're getting more pieces to the puzzle of Jim and Pam, and how they work(ed) in your story.  I like that we aren't given it all up front, and I wonder if sometimes that may make it seem like they are acting OOC in some people's opinion.  To me, you are explaining things in a manner that I feel is in line with doubts I've had about them truly talking through things fully, and yet sometimes I pause and think about what Jim had said ... then I remind myself that this is from his perspective.

I think when reading this, and reminding myself that we're only hearing Jim's side, it helps everything come together.

Looking forward to the next update!

Author's Response: Thanks, pizzagirl. Yeah, the problem with dribbling out the story instead of laying it all out chronologically is that there are some holes as you read. And then with the added limitation of Jim\'s POV only -- well, I think that leaves some people feeling confused (or resentful). But I\'m glad it seems to be working for you so far. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Oh geez, you leave us hanging like that?  She figured out what the box is, Jim thinks he didn't call her Pam and had a "but" in there ... anxiously awaiting the next chapter!

Author's Response: Glad I\'ve got you hanging on! Should have another chapter soon. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing, pizzagirl!

Aw, a happy ending for Jim and Emily!  I'm so glad I started reading, and kept reading this story.  The characters were believable and likable.  I'm anxiously awaiting the Pam side.
