10 So I'm often (*cringing* - more often than not) guilty of reading amazing fics but not reviewing them. (As a writer, I readily admit what blasphemy this is.)
I'm exhausted - long, rotten day, as it were - but of course I had to read this, thinking I'd review later...but I just couldn't not.
This is absolutely amazing-- would certainly stand seamlessly on its own without the challenge. But either way: succinct, poignant, and as always, so amazingly them.

10 Well now, missy. I've gotten a bazillion reviews from you (you rock for that, BTW), and then here you go -- take a challenge and freaking blow it out of the WATER. It's hard to write the sexy stuff believably and/or not gratuitously -- you've totally nailed it here (ur, no pun intended).
Seriously - this is so succinct, articulate, and absolutely channels Jim and Pam. Way to go! (You realize, though, that you've slipped into the dark side - so we'll all be hounding you for more stuff....)

Oh my god. I just started reading this today, and it's just astonishing - so well written and compelling. I knew a bit about the premise, but still, my stomach actually dropped when I read what had happened to Pam.
And Jim - wow, such a painful portrait you're painting of him, but I suspect it's really true to life for someone going through what he is. I love the way you've written Angela, too -- still very much her, but we get to see a warmth in her that's really endearing.

You've pulled off something pretty amazing here, in that you've really presented a relationship with Jim & Angela as progressing in such an organic way that I could absolutely understand why he'd fall in love with her and how they actually might work together.

I had this idea of doing a Jim/Angela story and it just wouldn't leave me. I wanted to make sure I made this relationship believable and still retain the essence of both characters. It means so much to me to hear you say that I accomplished that.

10 So this was awesome - I'm sitting here with a big smile on my face. Honestly, these little vignettes were so much like catching glimpses of them on the show: the dialogue is just so them. We say it a lot, I think, in reviews -- commenting that the dialogue is spot-on -- but in this case, it's not just their manner of speaking that you've nailed. It's the much harder art of capturing their subtleties - how the subtext often says way more than they do.
Love nervous Pam here and confident Jim; love the banter (Ebola and Dwight's assistant Andy and the sofa).
Just pitch perfect and a real treat to read.
It's about damn time -- not only for Pam & Jim to go on a date, but for me to get in on this whole fanfic writing thing. I hear it's the next big thing. 10 Lisahoo!!! (Said a la Andy: "Tunaaaa!") Oh wow. Just beautiful, as always. And even though I have to admit to being the world's biggest sap/drama queen (in my fic, not real life- should clarify, LOL), there is definitely, definitely something to be said for this kind of understated grace and realism. Because you know they've been building up to this for so long that it's destined NOT to be a perfect date (not to mention the stressful day he'd had, which you mentioned).
And this: He said he’d been trying to get to her forever, but she hadn’t made it clear how to do that- not that this should have surprised him.

While MTT was down for a brief time one night, I wrote a couple 55 word fics in the TWOP thread about Jim and Pam reading fanfic. I will likely continue this as a long running series, referencing my favorite stories and also newer stories as they come about.
So I'm just now catching up on reading fic (I've been woefully limited time-wise lately), and I came across this one. Wow -- great premise, first of all. Second of all, I suspect I'll end up reading a lot of great stuff that I missed on the first go-round...like Cousin Mose's awesome fic you referenced in this chapter. (Laughed and laughed and laughed...)

Wow. This may well be one of the most perfect one-shots I've ever read. So sexy, so hot, so very them with the banter. The last two lines are fantastic. And I love the second person technique -- hard to do, I think, but you do it amazingly well here.
Just a terrific, terrific read. Wow.
BTW: A bit of irony -- I live in the deep South, and our air conditioner went out YESTERDAY. The guys won't be able to come out to fix it until tomorrow. So here I sit in a house that's literally 85 degrees reading fanfic to distract myself. ...Oddly enough, even though the notion of heat permeates your fic, I forgot all about my irritation and having no damned air conditioning. I'd say that's a job well done. :o)

So excuse me while I get a bit philosophical on you (it'll only take a moment), but here's the thing about your writing: I read your stuff, and I always, always enjoy it because you nail the subtleties and the nuances that define Jim & Pam and make them who/what they are (read: near mythical entity in so many of our minds), but the other thing that's truly amazing about your writing is that - as a fellow writer - when I read your stuff, it makes me want to go write. Because you set the bar so high that it almost gives me something to aspire to, if that makes any sense. You write so well, and everything's just so organic that it's absolutely inspiring.
...My long way of saying that this is so amazing, and I'm thrilled that you're doing it. I hope it goes on for several more chapters...five, ten, seventy...
