Jim and Pam have 24 hours together before he leaves for Stamford. A lot can happen when you're on borrowed time.I really enjoy this story. I think it is brilliant to put them together for 24 hours straight. There isn't that time for them to regroup and put their feelings in check. I can't wait to see what happens as the day unfolds.

The chatroom storyline has been done before, but I like how you are incorporating the entire cast into it. I also love that your chapters are long. It shows you are really committed to the story. You know, I\'m so aware that there are already some amazing chat/IM stories and I work very hard to make this different.\r\n\r\nI got the idea when there was a commercial to blog live with Gre Daniels and \"Ryan\" after The Job. It struck me that if the documentary were real, the network might very well start making our office friends chat or something.\r\n\r\nThanks again for your kind words. I really appreciate it.
It was a little confusing and a little hard to keep up with but it just took a little getting used to. And I freaked out for about five seconds when I read: Wayne’s new pregnant woman (Carla) = Karen. I read it too fast and thought that Karen was pregnant. Serves me right for speed reading. Great chapter!

Hmm. What kind of joyful song? Because I don't want you to sponaneously burst into It's a Small World. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Anyways, this is a great story with nice long chapters that do not feel incomplete when you get to the end. I enjoy how you are writing classic Jim and Pam in their perpetual circle of love, denial, and hope. I am looking forward to the next chapter.

What a succinct way to sum up the Jam cycle! Yes, we're entering the denial phase now, but by chapter four I think we'll be in Phase Hope. And then chapter five, well, you know...

You have very imaginative concepts for stories. They always flow logically. But I feel like they are little like you have described Pam's pictures in this story. This was good, much better than a lot I have read, but it could be great. I think you have it in you.
Author's Response: Wow, that is a review for sure, and I really, REALLY appreciate it. I wonder what you mean by Pam\'s pictures?? I have to admit that I find some starkness in my writing. Sometimes I think that\'s OK--I sometimes don\'t care for stories that have paragraphs and paragraphs of descriptors, when a few words will do--but sometimes I do think I could flesh things out. I\'m not sure if that\'s what you meant, but either way, I am intrigued and would love to hear more from you if you are inclined to contact me. And, I should add, that I don\'t even know enough about writing to know if I have described mine correctly. Yikes! I\'m a little (OK, more than a little) intimidated because I know there are \'real\' writers on this forum who are reading my work. Author's Response: Thanks so much, MA! Well, this chapter did go through *several* revisions. It took me forever to get to a point where I sort of liked it. Yeah, I think it might be fun to immediately hook up with Jim, but I don't think she would've become the person she needed to be that way. I have to admit, I do enjoy this story more than the other you are currently writing. I do read both, but I get all bouncy when I see that this one has gotten updated.
I also must confess, I really was hoping Karen wasn't going to be a presence in this fic. Everything was looking so hopeful, and now my heart hurts. I feel like Pam is going to feel when Jim says no to coffee, crushed.
I am guessing that was your intention though, not to make so easy. Good job! I am looking forward to the next update.
UGH. That's what I have to say about this chapter. The characterization of indecisive Pam is just so frustrating. You have written it really well. I can't wait for the next update.
What if Pam confronted Jim a little sooner than on Beach Day? A S3 AU angst-fest, complete with uneaten pizza. Spoilers up to/around Business School....It is so hard for me not to feel bad for Karen. It really does suck for her. But after I move past that I start jumping up and down, wishing this is the way it happened on the show. I really liked the line where Pam thinks even his skin is trying to reject her. But she just doesn't care anymore. Very nicely done!
Author's Response: Yes, Karen really did the short end of the stick when she thought she could win Jim - but as we've seen in the show, she's not always the person most likely to realize when her dance is truly over. I think a more dramatic face off (like this) might have forced her to fold a lot earlier. Not that we've seen the end of her here yet. Thanks for reviewing, MostAssuredly - it's greatly appreciated!!
