I thought your characterizations were spot-on, - stronger Pam still sounded like Pam-from-the-show, and involving Dwight was just so cute, and in character.

I like how you imply Roy being dissatisfied with the relationship as well - I think it's so realistic that he would feel that, when they've grown so apart, even if he is a lunkhead ;-)

Author's Response: Thank you so much impish.  I feel like Roy and Pam had lots of problems and the amount that we did see of them fighting, he can't enjoy that.  I do think he would have stuck around no matter what, but I think in the end it is best for both of them that they ended it.  (course I am biased that way).  I'm glad the characters felt right to you, that's what I work the hardest on, so that makes me really happy.

What a beautiful story. Very poignant. I love this line, from last chapter:

He doesn't look at her, right away, and it occurs to him that even now he is very accomplished at not looking at her; even now he knows how to soak in her presence without taking her in with his eyes.

It's so season 3 Jim, to me.

Author's Response: I\'m glad you liked that line, impish1. I think it was season 3 Jim as well, being able to feel her without seeing her. Also, I really wanted to stay away, if possible, from having to describe Pam\'s appearance in that bed. :( Jim never really looked at her in that state, so we didn\'t have to either. Thank goodness; this story had enough angst as it was. ;)

I really like the way you write Pam. Instances where she feels guilty, but maybe for the wrong things, I really think that's in character for her. With Roy though, I'm not sure I agree entirely that he'd try to control her interaction with jim so entirely (ok, so maybe in the heat of anger I can) because I think at heart he's an ok guy, but I like this Roy too. Angry Roy is lots of fun. He certainly is more of a schmuk though than he would have been if he'd told her if he caught her with jim today he'd leave her. So ... Go Angry Roy.

I love Dwight's involvement too. He's so much fun. It's been a really immersing read so far. Can't wait for more!

Author's Response: I have the same issue with Roy that I do with Karen, I can\'t hate them because they are decent people, but they are in the way. I find it extremely difficult to write him. Thanks for reading!!

The following is I think one of the most beautiful sad and true things I've ever had the pleasure of reading:

Your writing is almost prose. You amaze me. Surely you are a professional writer. Do you have anything in my local Barnes and Noble? Because if you did, I would most certainly buy it ;-)
