Author's Response: I wondered about it in the show. I read somewhere (probably here) that it\'s a 3 hour drive from Scranton to N.Y. With the interviews in the morning, the drama with Jan, the break-up, ad the drive-back, I figured he\'d have to dump her fast to make it back during the workday.
