I really liked this Roy perspective. Very well written and believeable. I also loved this paragraph - it was brilliant as Roy's thought process. I bet Roy liked Roadrunner cartoons a lot better than the Bugs Bunny ones.

This is the point where you realize that not reading the damn thing won’t make it disappear, won’t make its feather-light weight in your lap feel less like an anvil some psycho coyote dropped on your head. So your eyes scan the cream paper and maybe it’s not so bad.

The hairbrushing/mirror scene was an especially good idea, and one I haven't seen here before. Nice. /Kev

I really cannot imagine a better Jim and Pam "birth" fic than the one you've written here. The voices were so real, and the emotions pitch perfect. One of the golden memories of my life was watching my husband hold our firstborn boy while sitting in a chair in the hospital room with me. He was utterly transfixed, as new fathers are, and you have captured that "new parent" wonder perfectly. Thank you. You weasled a tear out of this old coot this morning.

I can only imagine that first-time mothers are just a mess with their new babies, or at least I think I would be. So thanks for your review; I'm glad you liked. :)

This was wonderful, I enjoyed it so much. You walked the wire between their doubts and their humor perfectly, and the ending was spot on. I must mention that I really, really loved this line: Jim laughed, that rich, contented laugh that I never heard until after we got together.
