I looove this start! I love when what we know is twisted into something new but kind of familiar but totally different and it will be so amazing to see how you write Pam being the one to be there for Jim and show these little peeks into how much she loves him. You’re so good, Sprinkles! Teach me your ways!

I think you’ve done a really great job at figuring out how this would look if the tables really had been turned. I do think that Jim would be quick to defend Katy and then throw himself into trying to force happiness after admitting that he wasn’t happy. I mean, we saw him do that with Karen! And I think you write their arguments super well, and have a really great balance of Pam being a little bit bold, but not so bold that she lets Jim know how she feels. Excellent job as always my friend, can’t wait to see how you finish this one up!

Hi, I LOVE THIS. I have wanted a Karen POV for forever and almost wrote one but you have done it much better justice than I ever could in my life. And I love Jim not coming back. Honestly, why the hell would he? I mean, his family, I guess. But whatever.

Also, I quite literally screamed with laughter at that disclaimer.

Author's Response: Yeah... this is always one of my things about the period between Branch Closing and The Merger. Jim's choice to return calls for some explanation, because really... feels like something he should have given much more thought than he seemed to to not doing. And Pam's total passivity there is maybe realistic, but also deeply self-destructive in a way that I feel like deserves some attention. (The latter will be addressed in another story. The former, I have a *very* specific headcanon explaining, which will ALSO be addressed in a TOTAL DIFFERENT story.)

There's some real interesting canon Karen POVs, and I'm kinda interested in how you can explore her canon self by putting her in alternate worlds. Although honestly this scenario sort of came to me whole cloth. ALSO please write a Karen POV.

But for real this is also one of my favorite moments, how happy and cute they look like COME ON. Ugh. Gets me every time. I love that Jim would wind up being thankful that this is the memory of their first night away together, helping a friend and making a memory that you just know they talk about for years

Aw! What a sweet ending. I can't believe I got a good ending on my first try! Loved all the little touches that called back to the show. I laughed out loud at the Sebring! Great job, this was a massive undertaking and I'm super impressed!

I truly truly love this, but perhaps my favorite part are the emails between Gene and Lee at the end. But you’re right, for the whole bit about Cece getting baptized and what religion everyone is, they couldn’t have thrown in some Judaism? It does feel a bit weird. I think it’s spot on though that Creed would know and just drop that knowledge on them then bounce. Another great cold open that it is a damn shame that we didn’t get to see

SO weird. I mean, they even go out of their way to make Toby a potential priest. Just some missed opportunities there.

Creed occasionally Knowing Things is my favorite Creed running gag, and he does clearly have an expansive and colorful past. It could happen!

Me! This was for me! I have been waiting to read the secret santa submissions until I put in my own, so I was so excited that the first one I read was mine and that it was from you! You did an amazing job. My recipe was random enough that I forgot most of it and had to have NLM send it to me again a few days ago, lol! So the fact that you took these random things that had no cohesion whatsoever and turned it into a lovely little Christmas party forbidden kiss is just perfect. I loved it! Some of my favorite parts:

He clears his throat, but his voice still comes out a little shaky when he says, “You good?” (I died)

“Roy is great. He’s a good friend with good intentions and all that cheesy crap, but maybe that’s just what he’s supposed to be. A friend.” (i like her a LOT and this is great advice. if only someone had said this to Pam in the show)

“There’s still time to turn around. We can go back to your place, watch a bad Hallmark movie, or just go to your room and not watch a bad Hallmark movie.” (I would also like a sequel to this story, based on this line and this line only, thank you)

This was really pretty cute. I enjoyed the tension of not knowing what was happening with the storm and when Jim showed up it was really lovely. Good job, warrior!

This felt like a cute little belated Christmas gift, especially with the embedded links! Adorable. I love how it fits perfectly within canon. I also had that Creed cd and that made me shake my head at my own foolishness. In my defense, they were EXTREMELY popular and all the cute boys liked them!
