Lots of steam in the beginning, then some angst for good measure.I loved reading that again -- you write beautiful intimate scenes -- never rushed -- but intense -- and it all was in perfect character. I wanted to tell you how much I loved this story. I think I mentioned this in the main forum. The way the story flows -- and how you captured Jim and Pam -- so easy in your dialogue. "Jim: Am I going to miss something?" Gold. You made me believe that Jim visited Pam that night. I hope that writing is in your future, because you have the gift.

Could this be written from personal experience? You described the poopy mess perfectly. I like stories that tell more about an incident mentioned in the show. You have a nice way of writing Jim and Pam. Very easy -- they have a relaxed rhythm with each other -- you've "got it".

You have captured the 'voice' of Jim & Pam and the other characters and I enjoyed that you took this little section of the play and wrote about what might have happened -- I think it did! I also admire your skill in describing the speaker as they are talking, if you catch my drift. It's not easy to describe a speaker's body/mind state in a few words. I'm impressed!.

Completely unexpected turn to the story. It is realistic that there would be a Jim/Karen break-up story to be told. It was so hard to read -- it would have been nice to gloss over it as other stories have -- but it is a necessary part of the drama and adds depth and reality to the story. I can hardly wait for what happens next. What a gift you have in story-telling.

Karen may not have been the one for Jim but I think he really did care about her and their relationship. And no relationship ends in a day. Especially when that relationship has been going on for six months. Glad you enjoyed this chapter!

I like that you wrote the intense sexual scenes at the beginning of each chapter -- such a nice counterpoint to the telling of events leading up to the date and the date itself. It makes this reader anxious to know how things evolved to such a point. I believe your story will be among the classic Pam & Jim stories. You write beautifully -- and I can hardly wait for Chapter 5. OL

I love stories that continue after an episode -- and the question from the Dundees needed an answer -- and I loved your answer -- simple -- natural -- and believable -- wonderful writing! That's exactly how it could have happened! (But we had to go through S3 :-) )

I think you did a nice job with this story -- it's not easy to create a completely new scenario for Jim and Pam. It had nice humor. My only objection is that Jim wouldn't say "whilst" -- he'd say "while" -- just American usage of that word -- not a big deal. I'm not sure I'm rooting for Pam to become manager, but I enjoyed her in your story.

You did a wonderful job writing S3 Jim. He was so conflicted -- poor guy -- trying to move on -- trying to make it with Karen -- being around Pam all the time. I think you caught the exact truth of Jim on that night -- how did we live through the angst!! I loved your story.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! That's honestly the best thing I could hear about this chapter because I was really worried that I didn't capture Jim's emotions. He was so reserved during S3 that one can only guess how he felt half the time. And, yeah, the angst then was unbearable, but - thankfully for me - everything in this story from now on is going to be relatively fluffy (with only a dash of angst on the side because I can't help myself).
I loved your story -- and I think you captured exactly what Pam was thinking before she came home to Jim. I like stories that "fill in the blanks" - that go beyond what the episode reveals.
