I typically don’t care much for smut for smut sake, I like a story and need some plot in there... that’s just my preference. So I was a little hesitant to read this after the summary even knowing coming from you it’ll be great no matter what. But I’m pleasantly surprised to find a story weaved in there. Quite a fun story too, which again, not a surprise...

While out on a drive today we were listening to Lithium radio and we heard the story behind A Long December and I thought of this story immediately.

I really love these last two chapters. No doubt in my mind that Pam and Larissa would have a great bond in most any circumstance.
I’m selfishly quite fine with jim taking time to recover for more Pam and Larissa time. Also, his reaction to their closeness will be worth the wait :)

Author's Response: Yeah, I think Jim's going to have an interesting time dealing with Larissa and Pam together (not together together, but you know). And yeah, I can see why that story would remind you of this! Also, that's a legitimately crazy story.

I really love your creativity with pams art in the previous chapter.

It saddens me that Pam is so hard on herself, putting so much blame on herself. But I do think at this time and especially in this situation it’s in character. Not that I agree with her but it’s just who she is.

Author's Response: Thanks! Don't worry, Jim will come in for his own guilt trip soon enough from all and sundry! I think at this point that Pam and Jim both need to get out of their own heads--I've given Pam Larissa for that, as we'll see soon, but Jim's still locked in there.

Whew, that Helene sure is something! I’m loving her presence and all the squirm she’s causing but this has been one hell of a day for jim... he must be incredibly overwhelmed. I think he’d appreciated a nice wheelchair ride to that relaxation room to spend some quiet time alone with just pam for a bit, or a nap, lol!

Author's Response: Yeah, I think Jim could use even more downtime than I've given him here. He's gotta be exhausted, poor guy.

I absolutely loved seeing jims side this chapter, seeing that he was not anywhere near as calm about the situation as he appeared was a lot of fun.
I do wonder about the whole Karen thing... I can give him a pass for not mentioning her, though why wouldn’t he? But why would he allow her to run her foot up and down his leg all evening? Leading her on a bit there by not stopping it seems wrong. Especially if he fully intends to make a move on pam... blah I’m rambling my thoughts in a review lol!
Anyway, I still really enjoy this even if I worry jim might shoot himself in the foot. Their phone dates are just too sweet and the story as a whole is really entertaining!

I’m really enjoying your writing and the backstory you’re creating while also weaving in elements from the show.
That last chapter with Pam was maybe a bit depressing but it worked very well to get her where she needs to be. But I especially enjoyed what you did with this recent Jim chapter, it falls very much in line with my personal backstory for him. I tend to see him as very immature in relationships, I don’t feel he’s had much experience in relationships before what we’ve seen on the show. But I do feel he has an innate deep respect and value for love and I think that’s basically what you’re showing here and I really appreciate that. (Especially because I just finished reading one of our most popular stories here where they have jims “number” at 11 before pam and that doesn’t even include Karen! I just don’t buy that.)

Author's Response: Thank you. I've said this before, but creating character backstory is fun for me. Answering the question of "why is a character the way they are" when there's no canon reason can be the fuel for some great stories. Truth be told I didn't really like putting Pam through all that, but as you said it get her to where we first see her in the show. Same for Jim. I see both Jim and Pam as romantics, people who want to believe that there is just one perfect person for them. It's just a matter of finding them and getting the timing right.

I already told you that I love this but I forgot to tell you that this part.. “Jim. Jim. Jim. Jim. Jim. Your name is weird.” Cracks me up every time!! I just love drunk!pam!

Well, of all the fic I seen like this I’ve never seen Katy as the mom so that’s a new one! I’m *really* curious how you’ll get to jam from here.
I hope he goes for a paternity test because technically the baby is too old to be his... (I’m just teasing though, it’s AU... suspend disbelief :D)

Very nicely done, it felt very them from start to finish.
I enjoyed the whole story but this little exchange was my very favorite part,

Pam gazed down at him, her chest filling with warmth. “You really liked me that much, even then?”
Jim shook his head, opening his eyes.
“Pam, I have liked you this much since the day we met.”

Author's Response: Thanks! Dwight will be heavily featured. I honestly love writing Dwight. He tends to talk to me very clearly, and he's so incredibly different from myself that I kind of enjoy when he's playing around in my head. Stay tuned for some Dwight in the next chapter and...lots of chapters after that. I don't want to spoil too much, but he and Pam become a little team (the Dwight-Pam friendship is something else I really like and wish we saw more of in the show).
