And I agree with Pam; expiration dates are entirely arbitrary. :) Ha! Your note: "This wrote itself" is impressive. Thank you for sharing; please keep sharing these shorter pieces that "write themselves." And how does that work, by the way? ;)

Thank you! I honestly tend toward one-shots, so I'm sure you'll see more. 

Re: fics writing themselves. Sometimes characters just talk to me, and I start writing out dialogue, then all of a sudden--poof--it's as if 2/3 of the fic is done. I feel so...struck by some external force when that happens, but it's great. :)

I took a bit of a reading hiatus (until I could post my Christmas fic) so I squealed when I saw a new chapter here. And aye, aye, aye. This new chapter. I applaud anyone who braves smut and you did amazing ESPECIALLY for your first time. {TWSS}

I really do love protective but also respectful Jim in this story. You've done a great job keeping him in-character by ensuring that, despite his success and financial stability, he's down-to-earth and respectful.

Ugh, the ending was so perfect. Really, really perfect. Please update soon because we NEED to know what happens next.

Oh, I love this chapter. You’ve done a great job with Darryl, one of my favorite and underutilized characters. The pictures were SO great. I have too many pictures of these idiots for inspiration. These are great. I can’t wait to see the Roy interaction in Canada.

I read this when you posted it, but I can't believe I didn't comment on such a powerful chapter! Man, I love where this story is going. I know Pam will have to work through what happened (I know these things happen in threes and she's had two but I really hoping there are no more tragedies that come her way!!) but I love that there's still Pam under that craziness.
Man, I love how you wrote that female officer. Great work there.
Also, I really love how Jim is so dang tough in the middle of the craziness (he got in a good 17 punches on Roy and I didn't hate that at all), but then a little bit of his guard comes down (as it should) and he feels a little helpless once he gets to his parents house.

Oh and that scene in the bathtub. So wonderful.

I'm blushing :) I love your comments so thanks for always doing it haha. Honestly this chapter took a ton out of me, I havent touched it or looked at in a week I was just like exhausted, I took a lot of my own experiences and wrote that in there (never been assaulted thankfully) but panic attacks are my line of expertise haha. Thanks so so so much for always reading and reviewing new chapter will be up soon!

I’m definitely intrigued by this story. Not sure I’ve ever considered how Shawshank Redemption and OITNB can cross over...or either with the Office. I can’t wait to see where it goes!

Author's Response: Hey there! It's definitely not a crossover (mostly just inspired partially by all those other things--sorry if that was misleading). The only recognizable characters in this story will be from the Office. But I'm glad you're intrigued!

I don't know how I missed reading this one! It's so great. That part with Dwight is hilarious and so in-character. The moment where Pam lets the baby make her food choices is so funny and so real. I can't wait to see where you take these two!

Author's Response: What’s funny is that I went to Subway and ordered the exact same thing and it was so good...pregnancy is weird 😂 and thank you! Chapter 4 is started, I probably won’t go too long on this since I also have chapter 15 going for my college AU!

Agh! WYW, I have been slowly (so slowly) writing a college AU but I gladly derailed myself to read this beauty. I'm SO glad you continued and with my favorite holiday, Halloween! You are so great at writing Dwight in this story; I applaud how you've captured his tone, his relationship with Angela and his growing friendship with Pam (my fave!). im so glad you’re enjoying. This chapter really fought me, and I’m still not totally happy with it, but Drunk Handsy Chatty Sleepy Jim is such a joy to write (and imagine 😉) that it’s all worth it.

Also, thank you for recognizing my work with Dwight lolol. He is not easy to write sometimes but it’s awesome to hear I’m doing him some justice!

First of all, I LOVE this song and it is 100% JAM quality inspiration!
I love this chapter. Darryl’s “I love a spa day” dreamily made my day because YeS he would say that, just like that.
Pam daydreaming about a beach and sand and fruity drinks and no kids=yessssss.
I love post-series real life fics so I’m excited to see where you take these two.

Oooh! I love it. Nice seasonal currents without being too much or over the top.
I got a big smile when she got scared and had to grab his jacket lapels. I’m a sucker for the whole “I’m scared so hold my hand” schtick, and you did it beautifully here.
Dwight grinning maniacally was a great description. I love this trio as a friendship so I feel like we got a little early-series taste of that here. Dwight’s so into it and Pam getting Jim to show some enthusiasm is wonderful and so realistic.
I was bummed that she turned down his invite, but ya know, it’s probably the most realistic.
Awwww, Jim. One day you’ll get to cash in on that mental list. Just don’t forget everything on it.
Oh! And Pam’s doodle on his hand at the beginning was a treat! She DOES make a lot of “innocent” excuses to grab his hands, doesn’t she?

Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed :) I would have loved to continue their evening and take this into a whole AU get-together fic, BUT it was already running long haha and I really wanted to stay true to their awkward crushes pre-show —just enough flirting that neither loses hope! I feel like if I leave it here, it could have happened! 

Originally I wanted Jim to be the one who got a little freaked out and Pam has to protect him ;D it would have been funny, but this happened instead and I’m happy with it :)  

oh and I totally used to pull the same thing with the marker doodles on my crushes ;)

When did I ever think I would get all sentimental in a chapter with raw animal innards? Well, here we are. :)

My absolute favorite part here is the part about Jim offering her an out and her reaction. Because, of course that was her reaction, but you conveyed all of that emotion in such minimal context. Ah, it was great.
And I agree with Philip; candy IS the best!

I mean, the image of WolfJim reading SI while watching ESPN is pretty wonderful. And I literally laughed out loud to "interspecies spooning"! Fantastic.

Oh my god! Your Ryan and Kelly bit (and that WUPHF tie-in!!!) are BRILLIANT! Genius, really.

I also really love that, despite this terrible fate, Pam and Jim have made the best of it in a way that is totally in character.
