Ugh this is so so good! I wish it had all gone like this. I love this Jim. He's mouthy with Roy and I'm here for it.

"Jim is saying too much and Roy isn’t saying enough." This line though! I love this insight into both their characters. In fact all of Pam's inner monologue is spot on.

Please PLEASE continue this! I can't wait to see Roy's reaction!

Full disclosure I added that line late, I had it mostly written and then remembered her ring and it would be messed up to wear it during all of this XD So then it was a fierce internal debate of what to write and when to write it but I’m glad the result works! Thanks for reading!

Oh this is right up my alley. I love the way you wrapped Pam’s growing independence and breaking away from Roy and towards Jim in this beautiful symbolic way.

“She wanted to feel the sun kissing her skin again.

I love love love the way they talk to each other in this. It is perfection. The entire convo about lingerie just about killed me and this Isabel is a fave. I LOVE this story so much, Sprinkles!

This is lovely. Poetry is certainly not easy but you have accomplished it well here.
"I raise my voice as I raised myself, from the ashes, burning coals and crumpled hopes." -- I think this line is particularly poignant.

So, so good! As a woman, I really like fics that examine her experience and growth, because we all go through that at some point, and it is very relatable to see her work through that. You wrote her emotions so well!

I really, really love this! This is my favorite track on the album so...

"She leaves him with it, she leaves him in it alone, this relationship with her he’s invented in his mind. He backs away, taking all his love out into the hallway with him." This is a PERFECT use of this line.

I also love that we got to see Roy's thoughts because no one ever does that. And then Karen's...this was just wonderfully done.

I think after listening to it on repeat a good 600 times while writing this it may just be my favorite off the album too...

This is so good and so HOT. Wow. You just captured that angry-meets-turned-on-Jim so much. I always knew that seeing her go back to Roy pissed him off more than anything we had seen but this just brought it full circle and then to end it like that??

The hallway against the door was just so so good and the the ending...I mean, wow. 😍

I really leant into his being a dick about it side here... I’m glad the ending worked considering how terrifying I find it to try and write/publish anything remotely smut related! 

BT, you are so incredibly clever and creative. Your chapters have just floored me in how you have taken tricky songs and completely wrapped them up in Jam. I just love it so much.

I love love love the symbolism of them doing it on top of Roy’s scattered paperwork. So satisfying. I mean, the entire was satisfying and so perfectly done. I just love your writing so much.

Oh BT. This chapter KILLED me in the most delightful of ways. The premise was a fantastic way to use this song. The whole flirting at the bar was just absolutely perfect. I knew it was Pam which made it all the hotter. The le petit mort convo was just so so hot and the "Don't call me baby"...I mean, I'm just-

I love how you laced the lyrics in there flawlessly. The end in the car was just SO good omg.

Ugh, you have put us (just me, actually) to shame, you are so good at this. Teach me your ways, seriously.

Seriously Coley, this ranks up there as one of my favorite things from you which is saying A LOT.

I just love love love the way you write Jim and this feels like the perfect fit into what was happening on screen. We never really got to see her process her parents divorce but this is a perfect progression of what we saw. Also, I use the word perfect a lot when I discuss your writing so you will have to get used to it.

"It was Jim, grinning widely from underneath his black baseball hat, one hand holding his phone to his ear, the other tucked casually into the back pocket of his jeans as he winked at her." Oh hi, this is the Jim that lives rent free in my mind.


Mmm and I love over-protective new-dad-Jim all worried about her.

The rest I've already expressed to you but I will will recap here regardless:

the sex swing references and putting it on the registry -- I love you

“Oh I don’t care that he slept there. It’s that he got to fuc—“ -- perfect line is perfect

Lovemaking vs. fucking -- It's possible I love you even more for this.

And then you absolutely kill me with “You can’t divorce me.”

I think it was fate that two of your chapters were back to back and this was- what's the word I'm looking for?- oh yeah, perfect.

How are you so good at this though? There are so many fantastic lines from this, I can't even cover them all. I love that scene soooo much where she comes out of the bathroom and he looks at her and gives her flowers and you did it all sorts of justice. Ugh that kiss in the parking lot was just *chef's kiss*

"Wedding night rehearsal" -love it

Also, I think we need a follow-up fic about this tie. For science.
