Oh my gosh I just found this and it is sooooo great!! I love this playful Jam and inquisitive Jam and learning about each other Jam. I love your explanation of Pam as trying to be “not selfish” in her relationship with Roy ultimately leading to losing who she was… just a delicious little peek at our fave couple and some of the amazing backstory…fantastic work!!
I love this AU! And I love that Jim and Pam are still wanting to fight for their relationship… would love to see it continue!
This is beautifully written, realistic and real, gorgeous and sexy, funny and sweet. Incredible!!! What an amazing job!!
He was never meant to end up here, to meet her, and to have his life changed forever.
How did I just stumble upon this??? I’m hooked! What an incredible first chapter, building to that electric moment where Jim and Pam meet— and now he can’t stop thinking of her. Your loathsome portrayal of Roy is also commendable… The Office Roy in the post Civil War south. She is betrothed turning into I have a fianc? was so good.. clearly Jim has it bad! Can’t wait to see where this goes— how do you write this chemistry between them? It’s fantastic!!!
Wow. What a striking difference in actions between Roy and Jim in helping Pam’s family through the fire… “I came as soon as I heard”… well Roy, Jim’s been there all night and actually saved them from the fire, so…. And still, the electricity between Jam is undeniable. What an ass Roy becomes in that situation… but clearly, he too is seeing the threat of Jim, the undeniable magnetism that is Jam.
And the ending? The cliffhanger? Oh. My. God. I am in love with this AU… and so excited that Jim and Pam seem to just instinctually follow their hearts… no matter how crazy, inappropriate, or against society as it seems… you set up a clearly miserable situation for Pam having nothing as a wife… I love that Jim feels for her and is desperate to change her standing… amazing!!!!!
Okay, the opening paragraph??? Perfection!! And then he reaches for her hands???!!! Oh yeah… Pam can’t deny the electricity now… and clearly it makes Jim bold enough, strong enough, to tell her the truth.. that there’s just something there between them that they can’t deny. The sexual tension that you write is just beyond.. but then there’s also this incredible connection of their hearts and souls too. I love that Pam isn’t afraid to ask the hard questions about Katy— and Jim isn’t afraid to answer them either. Yes. Yes? Yes. And Okay? Okay. Okay. was just INSPIRED… and while I knows there’s gonna be a whole story’s worth of backlash for this marriage it’s gonna be sooo good! I love Jam just living for their hearts despite all the stuff in their brains saying ‘but what about this?’
Also perfection? If he were lucky.. about Katy, his dad, and his mom’s responses— but he tended not to be. I’m so glad they have a few people on their side— because this is going to be no easy ride— though together, they can weather anything— even a drunken, scorned Roy in the middle of the night, right?? Right. RIGHT????!!!! Thank God I’m off tomorrow…. Can’t wait to read more!!!
Author's Response: Thank you so much for commenting! I always enjoy hearing other’s thoughts as read through the story. I’m thrilled you are enjoying it. Thanks again!
I love this story soooo much! What a delight to see it back! I’m the biggest fan of AU Office stories featuring Jam and I love this one, especially with a baby on the way and new beardy Jim and high school teachers with a crazy principal! Pleeeeease don’t make use wait longer than 18 months! I loved that Jim skipped practice for Pam, but like most things, waiting for a big discussion you’re avoiding will only yield bad things… confident that Jam can work this out, but it’s a rough night tonight. I think it’s even worse that Pam doesn’t seem furious, just sad and quiet and disappointed. Thanks for returning to this fave!

Beth the waitress returns!
A series of stand alone, slice of life, one-shots in Pam and Jim's life, all tied together with the thread that runs through them; they all end with dinner at Christopher's, where (in my headcanon) they had their first date.
The first and the last chapter NOW COMPLETE work in tandem, but everything in between is its own story if you want to pop in for one whose title strikes your fancy.
This was a great take on S9 angst which still fills me with dread when I can sometimes stomach them on Comedy Central reruns. I love the reference to Dwight fixing the kitchen… but not being able to fix this mildew— that could turn to mold. My stomach dropped though when I read that Jim was going to surprise Pam with the dress from 5 years ago. Ugh. Great intent, but has so much potential for going wrong. Her stream of consciousness about the outfit was great… and of course Jim fit into and spiffied up HIS first date shirt… oh my heart aches a little for Pam. I loved the shadow stuff with the menu and bread basket… their problems were definitely much bigger and darker unspoken… and that reinforced that concept. Great call to the fact that as part of Dunder Mifflin, Jim’s business was also Pam’s business— but that Athlead was not.. and whether it was Jim not trying to bother her with “unnecessary stress” (maybe his thinking) or just that Pam didn’t know the specifics, I can see how that really stung not being a part of those moments.. which could potentially lead to bigger implications. And her reaction?? Oooh!! I think that you taught us all a little bit about assuming what someone else is doing… in this case Jim being on the phone for not Athleap but for Isabel and the kids— not that he’s out of the doghouse, but that without them speaking, they’re never going to get on the same page.
Mostly I love that this ended with hopefulness… because that season 9 shit was INTENSE! I love that Jim still (literally) reaches out— and Pam still accepts. As long as that’s happening, It’s gonna eventually be okay. Thanks for this hopeful take on the S9 shit— it was well handled and I loved it!
Wow, what a review, thanks so much for taking the time to leave it. Yes, Season 9 is rough, mostly because they forgot how to communicate and I wanted to bring that out in this chapter but without forgetting that no matter what they still love each other (and the family they made). Jim's gestures can only go so far -and can even backfire as we see happen.
Yeah, I didn't want to end it with anger and angst, even though according to canon we know what's about to happen in a week or two, but their love eventually pulls them out of that dark place and I wanted this chapter to hint at that too.
Thanks again for reviewing.
Jim missing Cece's recital is what makes Pam realize she's falling back into her old ways. She's accepting things she doesn't want to accept and not standing up for herself like she should. She decides she needs to find herself again before her and Jim can be happy.
Loosely based off of Grow As We Go by Ben Platt
Just stab us in the heart, why don’t you?!?! OMG the angst! I’ve recently been watching these episodes and they are SO. DAMN. HEAVY. and this chapter is no less!! Pam dropping the kids off at Jim’s Philly apartment? Waaaayy too similar to a routine kid exchange if they were divorced. Her pulling Jim
back up because she “couldn’t be with her thoughts alone”?!?!? Pam having to leave before the morning?!?!? Them both not saying I love you?!?! Baby Phil in a pack and play and little Cece in a giant bed at not their home?!?! Killing us here! Please say it gets better! Pleeeeeease?!?!
Loved this chapter!!! I love that Jim is just in awe and pride of his soulmate growing into the beautiful person she’s meant to be… trusting her instincts and embracing being a mom… I love that he can’t leave her side when Cece’s born… that he’s just so inspired and grateful for PAM. Mostly, I love that they do it together… of course Jim was super involved in everything baby… wouldn’t expect anything less! Fantastic sweet chapter! Can’t wait for more!!!
An AU inspired by Couples Retreat (feat. Jam on a tropical island, under Michael’s expert relationship guidance).
I’m SO excited to see that this is back!! It was worth the wait!! I am going to reread some of the earlier chapters and remind myself of the fabulousness this is! I love Holly following the trail of Michael like in canon. I love the inner dialogue of Jim and Pam going over their current state of emotions. I hate that they are struggling but can’t wait until work this out. I also love Angela being the one who follows after Kelly! I love the girl group interactions and the guy group interactions. Why do I not trust Ryan, or think something else is going on with him? Love Oscar’s common sense too.. “One if you’re walking, two by boat, and three is you’re Michael in a boat..”🤣🤣🤣 Can’t wait to see what happens next! Please update soon!!!
Author's Response:
Aw, thank you so much! I’m so thrilled to hear that. I possibly had to reread several of my own chapters to try to remind myself of where everyone had got to…I’m really glad you’re enjoying all the girl/guy group interactions too, they’re a lot of fun to write! And lol yes, Oscar sense. Thank you so much for reading and for taking the time to review - I really appreciate it!
What a great chapter! I love how everyone is starting to fall back into their rightful places… maybe Michael isn’t so crazy after all… his road to get their is nuts, but eventually, he gets them there! While I’m truly glad at the Jam reconnection, I was most struck by how happy I was to see Mark and Isabel reconnect, as they seemed the MOST destined for divorce in this story. I’m excited to see our couples reconnect, continue their conversations, and enjoy some paradise with each other. And the surprise Oscar Toby pairing is just delightful! You are making Toby a likable character for me! I loved the Jam dialogue as they tested the waters at the bar… so flirty.. so funny… so sweet! Thanks for continuing this great AU! Loving the trajectory of where this is headed—thanks for sharing your excellent work!
Author's Response: Thanks so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed it - and haha yes, there is (almost) method to Michael's madness? I'm not sure it's entirely intentional. But anyway. Ah and that's great to hear on Mark and Isabel - and on Toby! I do have a soft spot for him lol, despite his moments of being very annoying with Pam. Thank you very much for reading, and for taking the time to review - I really appreciate it :)
When Pam feels alone in a new city she meets someone who begins to feel like home.
A college au set in Bristol, UK
This was sooooo good! I loved your interweaving of canon in this AU and especially loved how sweet your interaction was with Jam! I anticipate the next chapter being lovely— how wonderful it was for Pam to see someone like Jim who truly believes in her and supports her! Great work!
Pleeeeease tell me you’re still writing this!!! The sexual tension is soooo palpable— and what’s the deal with Sarah Kaya? I don’t love her meddling. But clearly Jim and Pam are still attracted to each other, and now that it’s out that Pam wanted him to know she called off the wedding and that Jim didn’t block her number, what will happen now that they’ve had some alcohol and are lusting after each other? I can also never, ever fall for a beardy Jim Halpert… can’t wait to see this one continue! And I adore the sassy commentary of Pam’s friends! Great AU!

Keep calm... this amazing story is updated!!! To answer your question, you COULD not post for another year and a half because now Jim and Pam have kissed and acknowledged the crazy sexual tension between them and are now spending the night together so they could very well live happier ever after... but I do hope you post again because this was SO WORTH THE WAIT!
I'm just so blown away by how you can write this palpable sexual between Jim and Pam... how it builds and then gets interrupted... Thank God for Penny! She's definitely pushing for Pam to reconnect with Jim and I love it. I love that Pam is loving this roller coaster of emotions too!
Rolando in this story is just perfection. I love his song choice, and his clear message to Pam. But what is SK's deal? It seems more to me than a concerned friend. It also seems that as much as Pam kinda seems convinced that she's just gonna make this about a few orgasms, that's just probably not going to happen...
I loved your flirty texting with Jim and Pam making eye contact in the same room--so believable and also a little bit less intense way to broach some tough topics, like what was going on while Jim was in the bathroom. And it also allows them both to be a little bit flirtatious too...
Great callback to 27 seconds in 27 Dresses and yes, that was such a great scene where they sang Benny and the Jets at the bar in the rain! But the parking lot was fantastic. Jim being super sweet and holding his hand out to Pam, both of them feeling each other out about where the other thinks this night is inevitably going, and when it's so sweetly confirmed--that KISS! Well, Jim, you have no idea how long we've been waiting for that to happen too! Ugh, this is excellent. Please continue! It's sweet and sexy and funny and just so well written!
Oh my gosh! I love this movie and I love Jam and this is kind of amazing!!! (Said in the Kelly Kapoor sing sing fashion! ;)) I think you perfectly captured both the Jam kismet and the Serendipity pull that even though Jim (and Jonathan) should be content with what they have, it’s even more telling that the search for Pam (and Sarah) is making them question everything!!! I’m so glad that Jim has more to go on than just a store charge account! Only thing better would be if Eugene Levy could show up! So glad you’re keeping this going; it’s an excellent, excellent crossover!
Author's Response: I'm so glad someone else has seen this movie!! It's definitely one of my favorites. I know this fic isn't exactly the same but I'm glad you see a little of the spirit of it! I'll see if I can work Eugene Levy in somewhere hahaha
Oh so sweet!! And I love that Kelly is the Eugene Levy of this story!! I still haven’t watched Serendipity again, but when I do find it on a streaming service, I will totally think of you and this sweet Jam AU. Thanks for this darling, happy, funny, story!!
Oh. My. God. This was so good! All the FEELS of Serendipity!!! All the FEELS of Jam!!! I mean, this was their ice rink scene in the coffee shop... with Isabel in Molly Shannon's role!!! The score of Serendipity is one of my faves... just the soft, sweet, meandering, hopeful music, and your tone here completely matched that. I'm so glad that they finally met up. There is so much in life that is just not a coincidence... be it finding the love of your life or knowing why you had the assignment you did (I'm an RN) or simply running into someone where you never planned on stopping--and I love that you and Serendipity celebrated this. Fantastic, sweet, hopeful, funny, heartwarming. Off to watch Serendipity... and then maybe some Jam!
OMG. OMG. OMG!!!!!!! I love this! I love this story and Jam and Serendipity and this is SO good!!!! Um, yes Pam, you are in a rom com. Have you seen the movie??? It’s delightful. I love that she’s feeling the angst in her Roy relationship… and loved the little Michael/Holly details. And yes, Jim. I do believe and hope and pray that fate will let you bump into Pam in Scranton!!!!! Betsy…. Who doesn’t love some Betsy Halpert? We saw far too little of her in the series, but she never disappoints in canon!!! And oh Roy… interrupting the fate connection in the restaurant with Jim’s parents… ohhhhh. Holy cliffhanger!!! Please post soon….. love these two pining for each other and hope they make a skating rink glove connection soon!!!!!!
Author's Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Hopefully I'll get to the next part soon! Haha I'm also glad you love Serendipity because it definitely has some sway on this story

Just read this again and I think it is so so so good and has a ton of potential! I really do hope you continue! I love this AU and yet Jim and Pam are still as cosmically connected as ever. The Toby angle makes it so cringingly awkward… but I’d love to see this continue. The dialogue is so flirty and great! I’d love to see the bike ride date!!
Author's Response:
Ah thank you so much!!
We had a lot of fun writing this one for sure, and bossing YB around is always fun :D
I’m sure you’ll be seeing more from these guys in 2023 😉
