Loved this.  Felt like right for the characters and for the situation-and just loved the different take on how Karen relates to the Jim/Pam relationship.  It makes so much sense that she would fit well with both of them.  This was really fun to read :)

Loved the way you wrote Pam's thoughts here--I think you really channeled Season 3 Pam and how she could progress through the rest of the season.

Argh, I had sworn off Jim/Pam fluf, but then you wrote this--which is all kinds of wonderful, real, and heartfelt.  

That said, my favorite part was actually the Jim/Karen conversation and Jim's thoughts about his excuses and the people he has hurt in his efforts to move on.  They all felt so Jim-like and so true.

Oh gosh, this was just about perfect. I think you captured and portrayed their emotions at this point perfectly. Absolutely loved Jim's uncertainty that Pam would remember his sandwich preference and his drunken desire to show that there is a girl out there that does like him. And Pam's inability to figure out the right thing to say was so Pam-like...dropping hints that she misses him without ever actually saying it out loud.

It felt so real and recognizable, and fit really well with the characters. Great to read :)

Oh gosh, much love for this story. The pacing and the POV all worked really, really well. And I love the parts about how they're really holding themselves back (not Karen and not Roy) and how even Jim's feelings have morphed (how could they not??) since he told Pam he loved her. The thoughts you gave Jim felt real and true to me--really great to read :)

Author's Response: Thank you!  That's so nice to hear about the pacing because I generally feel like my writing goes too fast and doesn't allow time for tension to build.  And definitely, I absolutely agree with you about Jim's morphing feelings -- of course, I think he still loves Pam but everything's a little changed and I think it's going to take them awhile to get back to what they had.  Wow, rambling.  Thanks so much for your thoughtful comment!

Loved these--how you wrote Karen & Jim's revelations. The story had such momentum, and it felt really spot-on for what we saw on the show. Loved the way you tied it all together with the yes/no/maybe concept.

Well, this is 5 million different kinds of wonderful. Conflict Resolution is such a great episode for Jim/Dwight interaction, and the thoughts that you put into Jim's head for some of their moments fit so perfectly. Loved the way you wrote Jim's realization that he is aimless outside of his love for Pam and his slow progression to doing something with Dwight's prodding.

Everything was so perfectly in character. Really loved reading this :)

Ack, why are you so good at this?

This was so fantastic, I felt the entire thing--and I usually struggle with really "feeling" stories from Pam's POV. And at the end...I was holding my breath, and smiling a little, and I'm not gonna lie my heart's beating a little faster. It was sweet, and hot, and had this momentum...and was perfectly Pam (and Jim).

And now I feel like running out of my office and finding someone to kiss. Dangerous ;)

Oh god, I love love love your Kelly & Ryan. So them and so ridiculous and all around fantastic. So many many good details, but I think my favorite was Ryan ordering the flowers and then couteracting it with lots of boy stuff. Oh, and the cold water, which I'm still laughing about.

OH god, so much hurt and misunderstandings and trying to find happiness somewhere--even if it makes you do things you shouldn't. This was so real and painful and possible. Gives me the shivers, but it was beautiful. That last paragraph just really twists the knife in good & deep.

How good are all of these?? Together they were completely beautiful, and very Jim-like at the same time. And they hurt, hurt, hurt until that last one, which was lovely. Loved this.

OH, it's perfect. This just filled me with whatever Pam was feeling--the longing, the passion, that sense of "finally."

Gah, the whole thing is gorgeous and real and beautiful and wonderful and in character. And the end??? Best parking lot conversation ever. I think I'm still tingling from Jim saying "Invite me over." It's so hot, but tells so much at the same time--he needs that reassurance, he needs her to take the step.

So, so wonderful. I'm still tingly. I think I'll read it again.

Of everyone on this show, Karen breaks my heart the most. Absolutely loved all of these little snippets-they seem so Karen-y, while adding depth to her character that we can only guess at on the show.

#4 is still killing me-that she notices the problems and just waits to figure everything out and that she says "I love you" anyway because she means it-but she says it gently. All brilliant. You write Karen so beautifully--I would love love love to see some happy Jim/Karen fic. Hint, hint ;)
