What if Pam refused to let Angela drop her off at home after the Dundies?

“I want to go to Jim’s,” Pam said, interrupting Angela’s thoughts.

Angela felt as though her head might pop off and land in one of her cup holders. Would the depravity of this night never end?

This is awesome! I can't wait to see where you go with it! I love that people are still writing S2 fic because it's so much fun, and you get to have them go from best friends to so much more than that.

Anyway, I loved Angela in this chapter. Nice job with her!

Author's Response: S2 fic is awesome. I've only ever written S3 stuff, but this is a fun little foray into a simpler (sort of) time. And don't even worry. They will absolutely become more than that :)

This is really good. I had no idea I was so fond of angry, angsty Jim. I can't wait to see what you come up with next.

Author's Response:

Thanks, Azlin. Normally all I write is angsty fighting, but I think the worst is over now in this fic.

Whoa. I love this. It's so awesome to see them figure it out so much earlier, and to actually be mature about it instead of just avoiding it over and over and over again. Seriously, this is so much better than Season 3. :)

Author's Response: Heh. Well, I liked S3, but it certainly didn't compare to S2, in my humble opinion :) Thanks for the review!

Okay, it really shouldn't surprise me that this is fabulously good, but wow!!! It's awesome. And I was listening to the song in the background as I read and that just made it ten times better. Seriously, this is amazing. I think you've outdone yourself.

On a related note, I was sooo glad to see something new from you. I was worried that the new season wasn't providing enough inspiration or something since you tend to do the angst so well, but I should've known better! :)

Author's Response:

You are too sweet, I swear.  :o) I'm thrilled that people are interested in this; I was worried that nobody would care for some reason.  It's true that I haven't felt as inspired lately in the absence of on-screen angst (NOT that I'm complaining!), but Money really knocked me over the head, and I had to explore it....

Thanks so much, my friend, for reviewing!

Okay. I knew I would love this, and I'm so right! I can totally see little Ben. I decided to switch back and forth between this and Five Ways Pam Tells Jim She's Pregnant, and I think it worked really well. Especially when I gasped when Emily mentioned naming their baby Phoebe. I really feel awful for Jim though. He's counting the days? Poor guy. Good thing this isn't canon or anything. I'd be really upset then.

Author's Response: Thanks, Azlin! I\'m glad this isn\'t canon, too, it\'s fun to write but is vair, vair sad for the Jammer in me. I\'m glad you found a good way to read them together! Thanks for the review!

Aw!!! That's sooo cute! I love the triplets. And I love seeing how everyone else in the office is doing that far in the future. All in all this was fabbity-fab-fab!!

Author's Response: Thanks, Azlin! I wish I would've delved into what the other Office mates were doing, but it didn't fit the length of the story. I'm glad you liked it!

Aw! That's so adorable! And I love that you get to name each new Jam baby. How fun is that? Also, I'm still reading the old story along with the new, and it was so much fun to go from an angsty chapter to them enjoying life with Elizabeth. Great job on this whole story!

Author's Response: Thanks! I'm having SO much fun naming the babies, you have no idea. Although, as strange as it seems, they're kind of naming themselves, if you know what I'm talking about. I figured they'd get over the shock of having a late-in-life baby and really enjoy her. Cheers for the review!

Author's Response: i think that\'s a super tough line - and i tried to walk it well. glad it worked for you! to be totally honest, i\'m not sure either of them would be familiar with mr. darcy, but that was just the kind of mood i was in when i wrote it. thanks for the feedback!

I'm sorry that I'm just getting around to reviewing this now, but I want you to know that I've been enjoying every chapter of this story. I love the way your original characters blend seamlessly into the Office world. And the aftermath of Jim's confession has been extremely interesting to watch, especially given that we didn't get to see any of it on the show. Thanks for writing this!

Author's Response:

Thank you so much, Azlin!  (BTW: Next week is my spring break, and I fully intend to catch up on some of my fic reading & reviewing -- so you'll be hearing from me via reviews!)

It's really, really great to hear that you think the original characters blend into the Office world. I don't know why I've always been so fascinated with the notion of an older brother for Jim (and now a younger one), but I just love the idea of him having foils or sounding boards -- guys who're a lot like he is, but have their own little differences as well.

I've also really enjoyed exploring the aftermath of the confession, because I don't think I've ever really written a fic wherein Jim confessed earlier than CN and one wherein he actually stayed in Scranton.  I've written a couple of versions of the day after CN, but never anything like this, where there's no tangible end in sight for them both.  It's been really interesting to explore that realm.

Thanks so much for reviewing!

I loved this chapter. And you know, I think sometimes you just have to be harsh on Roy. There's no getting around the fact that the guy was a real tool at points. Anyway, I'm eagerly anticipating more of this. Especially now that she's at Jim's!!! Great job as always, girl7! ;)

Author's Response:

I want you to know that I chuckled at your comment that Roy was a real tool at times -- because he so was!  I tend to forget that amid images of season three's Tortured!Roy, but...yeah.  :o)

Okay, wow. I think that may be one of my all-time favorite chapters in any of your stories. Which is saying something, because you know how much I love your stuff.

But this was just so... rational. Not that I'm saying your other stuff isn't. Okay, this review isn't working out the way I wanted it to.

What I meant to say is that I love the way Pam said exactly what she needed to and nothing was misinterpreted. For an "I just broke up with my fiance" conversation it was pretty much perfect.

And now to the super-girly stuff, I love that she cried and he just held her. So cute! And the whole boxers thing, and saying good night, and the fact that for once she actually told him how amazing he is!! I was melting by the end of this. Seriously, adorable. I am very happy right now. :)

Author's Response:

Wow -- so amazing to read that review; thank you!   And you couldn't have given me a higher compliment than to have called this "rational," because I had concerns that the conversation was too disjointed and circular.  I was trying to convey both her exhaustion but also her sudden awareness (and the certainty that came with it) that she needed to end things with Roy.  I didn't want there to be a lot of "mystery" there -- in other words, I wanted her to be straightforward with Jim about the fact that it was over with Roy, but also about the fact that she does have feelings for him.  And I found all those things to be a bit daunting to work into one chapter -- so I'm really glad you found it believable and organic.  :o)

So glad you're enjoying this, really -- and thanks, my friend, for reviewing!

Ouch! There goes my grief bone! Poor Roy. But I'm so glad she stuck to her guns, because even if he'd done everything he could to change, Roy would still be Roy and not Jim and Pam needs Jim, and... and why am I telling you this? Of course you know all this.

Anyway, this was really good. I loved the stuff with Josh too. I can just picture him in his PJs in the kitchen looking all Jim-ish but not. So cute!

Author's Response:

Ha -- I think you're right, though (as usual!); Roy would still be Roy no matter how much he tried to change (which we saw in BS with the whole, "Your art is the prettiest of all the art" comment).  It's a relief to hear you liked the bits with Josh in the kitchen -- I lapsed into a bit of Chuck love there for a moment, but I really did want to draw a contrast between the world Pam's lived in for ten years and the other one that's out there waiting for her.  :o)

Thanks, my friend, for reviewing!

Author's Response:

I really needed to hear that today, Azlin, so thank you!  There's one more happy chapter left before the end.  :o)

Hey, you posted! I'm glad you got it all figured out, because this is really good! And I love that you're still in this moment. Anyway, I really liked this. I love how you worked in Terri's relationship with the girls, as well as more about Stanley's inner life. Especially since we see so little of that on the show. Nice work as always, Kev!

Author's Response:

Put up with you?  Hah!  Just try to get rid of me! (No.  That is the opposite of the point that I'm trying to make.) ;)

It's fun to make up little backstories about the characters, isn't it?  With the little characters like Stanley, there's probably not as much likelihood that a backstory would be refuted.  I'm glad we found out a few of the religions of our office workers in Fun Run; that made this story a little easier to do.  Then again, without your first beta (um...you need a little more here...), I wouldn't have added all that stuff, and then when Swedge beta'd, he suggested saying what happened to the first Mrs. Hudson.  I did toy with "buried somewhere only Stanley knows" for a while, but...nah.  I decided to go with a serious approach. ;)

Thanks for reading and reviewing, Azlin!

Okay, I kind of love that you have pictures to go with this story. It's like a bonus gift with each chapter!

I like that you didn't go through all of the arguing, crying, etc. between Pam and Roy. It's the sort of thing that I would feel the need to write out in detail, but it's good that you didn't because that's not what this story needed. I think I sometimes go overboard when I write and end up writing about every little thing that happens, but that's not always the best approach. Anyway, all this rambling to say: I admire your brevity. Ironic that I rambled my way into saying that, huh? ;)

Author's Response: Haha. Okay, I seriously didn't just because I would have no idea how to even attemt to write it. I love how everyone (okay you and Alamos) love my brevity, but really its just because I can't write longer, without it feeling strange. I would feel as if I tried to actually write that argument, it would be totally OOC, so I went with simple. But hey, people like it, I like it! :D
