Really, that was so lovely. I loved how you captured those half waking moments, blending real world and dream world together.

Just began this story and I'm looking forward to reading the rest. It's an interesting premise and I like to see Jim and Pam in different settings some times.

I also wanted to throw one out one small correction. It's Center City, Philly, not Central City :)

Author's Response: Thank you! You\'re right, I don\'t know why I typed Central because I have Center in my notes. Oh well. Thanks so much!

Oh, I've really enjoyed what I've read so far. I really like how you've connected all the characters, bringing in their familiar traits but in different ways. I'm so looking forward to Kelly as Ryan's date and I just loved her quick move with Jim. And, of course, i look forward to the impending date. Great job!

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I\'m really glad you\'re enjoying this, and that you like everyone\'s new roles. Look for a new chapter soon!

I really enjoyed reading the other side of this coin. Still just as evocative as the first, but with this lovely new perspective. I really love how you capture the summer heat in NY, how it's a character all its own here, affecting everything around it. And I also like how you play with Jim's latent Judaism, those women still reminding me of my own grandmother. All in all, I just really like seeing this all transpire from each of their perspectives, seeing that even when they differ, they always converge. I really look forward to more writing from you in the future.

Author's Response: Thank you, albie. Jim\'s Jewish last name seems worth exploring a bit. I didn\'t want to be too heavy-handed with that aspect of his character, as I don\'t think it\'s terribly important to him, but I wanted to flesh it out, anyway. I\'m glad you liked it. It would seem there\'s more coming from me, rather sooner than I thought.

I really liked the controlling element in this and can see Pam being so overwrought and confused and needing to at least be in control of this. I don't know if you are looking to continue or not, but I do hope you do.

I really love how intimate you allow us to get with how you write these characters. There's just this secret door you seem to open and we are able to trot through all these emotions that are not easy, are not charming, and are almost too real.

I really enjoy how you highlight how BOTH these characters are flawed people, something that I think tends to get lost in  alot of Jim/Pam stories. Jim tends to be favored and cherished and Pam is the one to blame for just about everything. I think that does a disservice to the couple and the carefully crafted characters we've gotten to know and I so appreciate the details you find with the characters , how you draw them out. I even enjoyed how Jim discovered that Pam wasn't pregnant. Again, there was no blink away, just right there.

Thank you for all the gorgeous honesty displayed in just two chapters. I always look forward to something new from you.

Author's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write such thoughtful, kind feedback, albie. Blind Jim-adoration bothers me because a) I like Pam a lot b) Jim is a twit sometimes, and c) I\'m a feminist, and I think it\'s weird to hate on a sister just because you think a boy\'s dreamy (please note - totally dreamy). They\'re both very real, flawed, good people in the canon, so I want to keep that going when I write about them. Thank you again.

Altogether, you really gave such a lovely, fun look at their future and their family and their final moments together in the story were understated and well done.

I resisted reading this, because I'm trying to stay away from WIPs, but clearly, today, i gave in. And I'm glad I did. This story is gorgeous. I love the style, how you showed the documentary format, the footnoting, and really, just how you have drawn these characters so simply but so very vividly. Your stories always tend to have such a tangible quality. I love that and I love this.

Author's Response:

albie, what a wonderful thing to read!  Thank you so much for this and for breaking your rule on WIPs.  I totally understand that one - I've had my heart broken more than once after reading a few chapters of a story that was never finished!  Never fear, I would die from the guilt and besides, I've put so much into this so far, I have to finish it!

I'm so glad you've enjoyed this and thank you so much for letting me know!  Epilogue coming!

I first checked this out because I had to know if the title was from the Regina Spektor song and seeing the chapter title, yep! Love that song. I'm also glad I clicked because this was such a fun piece. I loved Dwight's breathless wonder that he could actually have Michael's home number and that Michael's third rule is to not allow Dwight with shoes in his home. Just some wonderful touches. Really good fun.

I really enjoyed this little taste. I always enjoy pieces that rely on dialogue completely because it's a real challenge to draw the scene and characters without having the padding of regular prose. You did an excellent job here, really painted the picture, and these two work so well with just plain dialogie.

Wow, I just read all these chapters at once and I'm really enjoying this. Firstly,I like you following the old adage of writing what you know. You really give the feel of Chicago and its citizens and the things that matter and really, just get the atmosphere down without being heavy handed and are really just ivniting us to your city. Secondly, the way you've drawn Pam with a certain understanding of her indecisiveness andhow I really love how for her the fairy tale does not start with the prince, but jsut her, the princess and what she wants for herself. You've really done a great job portraying someone figuring out who they are and could be. Thirdly, you are developing the Jim/Pam relationship so nicely. I loved the scene of them on the subway on the ride home from the game. You are doing it with a kind of gentle ease and I like that a lot. Nothing is rushed, things just...are. And you are doing it all witha  respect to Pam/Roy without having to make him the bad guy or an evil oaf.  Lastly, we share so many music tastes, it's insane, so, um, really great music choices there. Really looking forward to more.

Author's Response: Wow, thank you for the incredible review! If there are typos in this reply, I apologize but I just got home and my dog, Sadie, is all over me! Ahhh... She wants all of the attention. Haha. Anyway, thank you again. I\'m so happy you are enjoying this story. These characters have been in my head nonstop all week, I\'m starting to think I\'ve gone mental. But I\'m always picturing these cute little romantic storylines. The White Sox game and subway ride? Totally came to me when I was in the shower. Which may explain the rain. I don\'t know. I\'m a crazy person. But I\'m in love with this story, so it\'s very exciting to read your awesome review. Thank you!

Haha excellent homage to Lloyd Dobbler's infamous romantic gesture and just perfectly adorakable that he has it playing off his macbook. Well played altogether. I liked Pam's confession and have I mentioned how muh I've been enjoying your Kelly? Highly amusing. Looking forward to more(and where this all leads).

Author's Response: Thank you, Jim is totally adorkable and I felt like the whole macbook bit was so something he would do. Ah, such a romantic. Kelly is definitely my favorite character to write. Whenever I feel like the story is craving a dash of comic relief, I know I can turn to Kelly Kapoor.

Beautifully atmospheric and really, the song inspiration was certainly a great addition as I read the chapter, (I haven't heard that one and I'm adding it to my d/l list). I liked how you structured the chapter and I understood Jim's reasoning. I know a lot of readers were calling for his head when he was ignoring Pam, but i dunno, I guess not saying or doing the right thing all the time is part of being human and that Jim apologized is enough. As always, looking forward to more.
