I wish there were a way to reply to your reply! Thank you for the detailed response. I see we simply have different perspectives on the show and the characters and heh, now that I think on it, we may have disagreed over at TWoP at one time or another! That being said, I still have really enjoyed your writing and this story and will continue to do so.

Author's Response: You\'re welcome! Yeah . . . there are two sides to every story, but we usually end up picking the one that rings true to us the most. And although I see Jim\'s weaknesses (mostly having to do with the pain of being rejected), I find myself always sticking up for him. I adore Pam and relate so much to who she is, but I see her character \"flaws\" (and I mean that in a loving way) maybe more easily than I see Jim\'s. Maybe because I share so many of them! Anyway, thanks again for reading and for your comments! See you at TWoP ;-)

I'm really enjoying this story. I love how you are showing their growing relationship as something they are almost unaware of, yet deeply comfortable with and dependent on. I really liked Jim in this chapter. I hope we get some more of his POV soon, I'm curious what his thoughts are on all this change around him and of course, when he realizes he forgot Megan's bday. All in all, look forward to more!

Wow, that was such a powerful chapter. Once again, I really enjoy how you are playing Pam and Jim, almost living in this idealistic world, with the real world taunting them just outside. I'm curious how the next chapter goes. Pam is still nursing her own wounds, so once Pam realizes that Jim is alive and well and simply...left, well... I'm not envisioning rainbows ;) Though I really look forward to more.

If i could give one critique, you've mentioned several times how involved the office was with Jim's loss and you've further demonstrated in this chapter how they all tried to take care of him in some way. Given that, I'm finding it really hard to believe that Pam has heard nothing about Jim and the death of his wife, or Jim and his period of depression. While there is tact and I'm sure most would not say anything intentionally, we all know that there is gossip and Michael without the best censor button. It just seems like a lot of time has passed at this point for Pam to still be so much in the dark about Jim's life.

Author's Response: First of all thanks for reading. Don\'t worry I have this in the back of my mind, and just a small spoiler for an upcoming chapter: Someone else does spill the beans about Megan to Pam thinking that she knew. But remember Pam has only been at work for about 3 1/2 months.

Eesh. Wonderfully written, as always, but eesh. Painful. And to think, if he could've only been honest, like, a month ago? So hard when there's this wall between them, something it seems Jim didn't realize was still there until he remembered he forgot. Pam knowing nothing isn't his coworker or his family member who can brush off his "sick" days. I look forward to more, especially when Jim takes a hammer to that wall :)

Every new chapter of this story makes me love it more. I love the respect and detail you give to the lives Pam and Jim each had before they met and I love how each character deals with these pasts and all their repercussions so realistically. I really enjoyed what you did with Roy in this chapter. He's a coward, knows it, and has decided leaving could be the best thing he could do. His final note and gift to Pam and Franny was touching, but his final scene with Jim was really wonderful. I also appreicated all of Pam's worries and insecurities about the house and I like how Jim resolved it. I also liked how Jim resolved his love that remains for his wife and his love that grows with Pam and Franny. His scene with Megan's mother was so lovely. I'll be incredibly sad to see it end and I look forward to whatever comes next.

Author's Response: Thanks albie_, I have unhealthy attachment to the Jim and Pam in my story. I have a ridiculous amount of back-story that didn\'t make it into the first few chapters, and I sometimes have to remind myself not to mention. I really appreciate that you commented on all of the parts of the chapter. I was worried that people would think I was trying to give Roy an excuse, but you took it exactly the way I hoped readers would.

I am sitting here with tears in my eyes. You always get the emotions just right, never shying from the difficult or the awkward. I really thought the scene at Megan's grave was great. Something I really love about this story is the respect you have given to Pam and Jim's pasts. That MEgan isn't an afterthought and Roy isn't the bad guy. They are parts of who make these characters who they are and I appreciate you doing that. I also love Franny. Writing children is hard but you've manage to not make her too adult or too precious, but just right. I'm going to terribly miss this sotry when it finishes and I know as soon as I read the epilogue, I'll go back to the beginning and read the whole story all over again. It's really been such a lovely trip you've taken us all on.

Author's Response: I\'m glad someone other than me was tearing up.

*happy sigh* That was a wonderful ending. I liked how you flashed back to give us a taste of what family life was like growing up and I really enjoyed the scene of the girls at the hospital as well as Franny's first meeting with Roy(at least one she'd remember). I also appreciated how you kept the Jim and Franny relationship, always special, always different.

And the final moments with just Jim and Pam reminded me of where we all began. Which reminds me. Now that it's all over (*sniffle*) I must read it all over again. Wonderful storytelling and characterization, I always look forward to more from you.

Author's Response: thank you so much. You got exactly what I was hoping readers would get from those final moments.

I really enjoyed this story, it had a unique look on the couple and their draw to one another, no matter the time changes. I liked the cinematic grabs throughout the story and the parting shot was well done. I can see leaving it as is, or adding an epilogue, though I'm not sure it's needed. I really don't love the idea a sequel, as this has more the feeling of Sunset than Sunrise. But, just my opinion of course. Beautiful story, either way.

Author's Response:

"I really don't love the idea a sequel, as this has more the feeling of Sunset than Sunrise."

that is so great! i agree with that wholeheartedly.  thank you for your lovely feedback.  this story is sort of AU in some ways, and i'm really drawn to that kind of story, because i think their love and energy can exist anywhere.  i'm so pleased that you liked it.

I really like the premise here and I also appreciate Pam and Jim in an entirely different setting(yet still Pam and Jim).I'm looking forward to what these three years have been like for the two of them and what this meeting will bring.

Author's Response: Thanks albie. I have to say this is quite tough to write as three years is a long time and so they will both have accumulated some baggage along the way and changed (perhaps not fundamentally) their outlooks and even their dreams. Still, I shall do my best as its fun to imagine Jim sitting on a tube train or wandering round Camden Town. Scranton feels like a very long way away to me.

Author's Response: Thanks albie_. I am so enjoying showing Jim and Pam around my home town but sometimes it\'s a little difficult to visualise Jim riding on the tube or Pam walking down Camden High Street...and believe me, I spend a fair amount of time visualising Jim riding on the tube...or showering...or, well doing anything that requires him to be naked!
