Author's Response: Thanks for the review!  I'm personally a fan of unconventional pairings, and this one intrigued me (well, and I love Darryl).  And you never know, Dwight could be schooling Angela in the ways of office supplies self-defense!

This is just incredible.  You nailed Stanley in only a few paragraphs, oh man, and your CREED, and Meredith's dislike for her son, and oh, Jim and Pam and Karen.  Really, really beautiful.

Your use of italics manages to make everything sound exactly like they're really saying it.

I have gotten progressively more obsessed with this fic as time goes on -- even rereading it in full while waiting for this chapter (and, to be fair, to avoid studying :p).  Your Jim and Pam -- and their need for some sort of subterfuge to be honest with each other -- ring so true.  I love that in this chapter, they explained EVERYTHING and actually talked about they felt, which is so foreign to them!

And Pam threatening to beat him up!  I could so hear her saying that. 

My favorite lines:

Pam> Like Andy's Banjo.

Oh man, this is so good!  I love the way Angela pushes everyone away and never thinks it's her, the way she was drawn to religion because of its acceptance, and now that's gone too, and yet she's still so sympathetic.  Beautiful.

Oh, I liked that a lot!  You took a really cheesy concept -- making your smile come from the inside -- and made a sweet, bittersweet, story out of it, not cheesy at all.  I also love the idea of Kelly being the one to tell him Pam didn't get married. :)

Author's Response: Thank you!  I've seen other fics speculate on how Jim found out about the non-wedding, and I liked all of them, but I hadn't seen one that used Kelly before.  She's such a gossip that I knew she'd be itching to tell someone who didn't know yet, but I can also see her having a soft spot for Jim and wanting to check up on him in Stamford.

Oh MAN, Kyra.  So excited -- I don't think anyone in the fandom has done anything even close to this.  Can't wait to see where you take this!

And I'm loving the backstory on all those moments we already know -- how Pam bought the coke (accidentally typed "cock" there; good job, self), the fight about the honeymoon -- yes. Love.

Oh, this is the stuff we missed last summer -- the details about getting on with your life after the end of such a long relationship (Pam's plans to give Roy's niece her old lunchbox, the way Roy's hand looks without his ring).  I like that you have Roy moving out here, not Pam.
