You go, Ryan!

I love to see someone finally writing Ryan as a man, rather than just a shallow frat kid. You deserve all sorts of props for this (and frankly, since I only started watching the show in the third season, I've only really got the impression that Jim is a dumbass).

awww yes! ryan and kelly may be crazy, but they love each other...Jim is so freakin clueless, thanks for bringing Ryans horribly blunt nature into the picture...
hooray! this was great, I loved it

Great story--I think the last line is what totally made it. Ryan's secretly a big softie. :) Are you going to continue? I would love to see what happens with Jim and Pam! Thanks for writing!

hooray! I liked it. And it was sweet when Ryan gave Kelly a candy bar. How great :)

YES! Jim really needs a kick in the pants, and if anyone can give him one it's Ryan. He's just bitter enough to be brutally honest.
I also like that he calls Pam nice. They seemed to get along pretty well while Jim was gone. I loved the little prank they shared with the movie references (Lion King and Million Dollar Baby)
I also love that he was preoccupied with the vending machine. It got him annoyed enough to really let loose. And giving Kelly the extra Snickers bar? Awesome.
One thing--this might be a cool story to continue. I'd love to see Ryan continually giving Jim a hard time about Pam.

I have been wanted to see something like this ever since Ryan shot Jim that look in Ben Franklin. I feel like there may be quite a few characters ready to tell jim to get his stuff together. This was very well done and spot on the characters. Great job.

You know, after Ryan blew off Jim's prank in The Return, I could TOTALLY see him saying this to Jim. And how awesome would that be? Great work!!

Wow. At first I thought, "this is totally out of character for Ryan." Then, after thinking about it, I realized that I don't think any of us really knows Ryan well. This really could be him. I've always felt there was more to his relationship with Kelly than any of us could see, and you captured that wonderfully. I like how he didn't feel the need to defend or explain his relationship with her, but was abrupt enough and annoyed enough to put Jim in his place. When I first came upon this story, I thought, "This will be an interesting view," and it certainly was. Enjoyed it much!!

What a great idea for a story, one I could actually see happening on the show. We know Ryan has no trouble speaking his mind, even to Jim. I also loved that you picked up on the vibe in the break room scene in Ben Franklin, where it was clear that Ryan and Kelly are actually the functional couple, while Pam and Jim are spinning their wheels and playing games.
Great idea!

Haha. Ryan really is stuck in the middle. He has had glances from Jim when he was working at reception, and glances from Pam when he took over Jim's desk. Now he is really in the middle.
And now I want a Snickers
