This defined my personal headcanon for Phyllis' one-night stand.

I've been known to get drunk on orange juice, actually. What can I say? It takes very little to keep me satisfied and smiling. Ahem. I'm not drunk: I think I just had a little too much sugar today. Or maybe Kelly's rubbing off on me.

What I loved about this one - I was going to choose my favourite, but I'm going to have to settle for, uh...#1, #2, #3, #5, and...yeah, #4, too.

OK, the first two are particularly amazing because oh, Meredith!: I love how you got her 'background' in, in so little, and made us feel so sad for her without even saying SheIsSoSad - subtlety, yes.

And the Death of Tom! She tries not to take it too personally when he kills himself two days later. is PainfullyPhyllis, a little punch to the gut. One of the few times she takes a chance and the guy kills himself.
[I love the character you've given Tom, here, too; he's just a name with a depressed background on the show, but you've added a certain something to this that I can't put my finger on...I loved it, though.]

The others - the freaky Angela-ness of the third one made me snort and shudder a little, as only Angela can do [her sweater will definitely need to be dry cleaned], the Kelly-ness of the fourth one is scary because I do seem to know what Kelly would say [oh, dear], and I loved the last one - the hint of Jim/Pam aside [as J/P always makes me ridiculously happy], but Andy saying you're my Diane? Made my night. I can imagine him circling like a shark smelling blood in the water, being overly nice to her, her, who is so drunk she doesn't even seem to care.

Awesome.

Author's Response: By all means, be effusive. It certainly made me happy! I'm glad you got "You're my Diane"! Yay! Thank you so much for your detailed, thoughtful reviews. You are helpful AND lovely!

I speak from experience that Jaegermeister can make you really stupid.  It's great stuff.

I too felt bad later about laughing at Phyllis' ending.  Far worse than turning him gay...

Great stuff.

Author's Response: I went to this pool hall/bar in Alaska once, and they actually served it from an official Jager machine that kept it ice cold. And people went there just for that reason. Of course I had to do a shot. It was, indeed, ice cold. Thanks for commenting, Alex!

All of these are great- so concise and very, very true to the characters. I just ache for Phyllis, though. I think that idea will stay with me.

Author's Response: Thanks, nqllisi. Phyllis' was actually longer before, I wrote some back story on "easy rider", but it was far too depressing to share.

I loved all five of these (and felt bad for Meredith and Phyllis - even though I'm sure there's no link between Tom's suicide and her), but the last one was particularly spot-on. Was it meant to meld in with part 5 of the accompanying piece. If so, good job. And I of course loved the reason Karen doesn't drink Jaegermeister.

Author's Response: Thanks, Luna! The fifth one was meant to be more of a sequel, it takes place at a later time, but yeah, they go together in my head.

Holy CRAP.  The Karen one had me in tears.  Andy circling "like a shark," and then, "There's a reason she doesn't drink Jaegermeister."  OMG.  SO AWESOME.  These all were kind of sad in their own way (well, except for Kelly, who's just -- in her own world).  I really liked it, though.

Plus: you win for details --  [Angela] delivers her charges safely to the parking lot of South Side Bowl ...

I love people who acknowledge the fact that Poor Richard's is a bowling-alley bar.  Because -- c'mon.  REALLY.  It is.

Author's Response: Yay! Someone cares about the details besides me! I thought I was being super-geeky including that. Thanks for reading!

I love how the Karen story fits together with the Five Times the Guys Went to Poor Richard's story. And I laughed when Phyllis tried to not take personally that Tom killed himself -- and then felt bad about laughing.

Nice job!

Author's Response: It's okay sharky. It was written to make you laugh, then feel bad about it. I was trying to capture the feeling of Phyllis miming shooting herself in the head. Because it's sad, but funny, but then you feel horrible for laughing about poor Tom. Thanks for commenting!

She tries not to take it too personally when he kills himself two days later.

Whoa! I remember "Tom from accounting" but I never connected him with Phyllis' legendary "one night stand". Good connection there!

There's a reason she doesn't drink Jaegermeister.

Andy n Karen? Ew, ew, ew!!!!! Gotta go mental floss my brain! Ew. But well done, and totally believable.

Loved all of these.

Author's Response: Is it wrong that I'm kind of pulling for Karen and Andy to work it out? Maybe. Thanks for reading.

Tom! I remember Tom! And yeah, I have no idea what You're My Diane means. But a good story, all very much in character. :)

Author's Response:

"You're my Diane" is an (obviously too obscure) reference to the time Andy told Jim that he and Karen had an on again off again relationship, like Sam and Diane from Cheers. It's in the Diwali episode, just after she goes to unstick the vending machine with her "skinny arms".

I did like the original version, but the changes you've made work really well.  I was just feeling too sad for Phyllis otherwise even though it is still not puppies and rainbows.  Poor Karen stuck with Andy, which is totally realistic but so sad for her.  Andy wouldn't leave her for another woman. He probably couldn't find another woman, but that's beside the point.  And it's not like she hasn't made out with him before. There's a reason she doesn't drink Jaegermeister.  So sad but so true!

By the way, the my Diane line, does it refer to Diane Chambers or Diane Court?

Author's Response:

Diane Chambers. It's a reference to Diwali that only I remember. Whoops.

Thanks, Morning Angel.

Oh man, the Andy/Karen at the end I totally buy in a way that is really disturbing. Poor Karen.

There's a reason she doesn't drink Jaegermeister.

HEE. Yeah, there is.

Author's Response: Well, you have yourself to thank for that. I was completely inspired by the fact that you tagged the first part as Andy/Karen on scranton times. Thanks for commenting!

I realy liked all the "Great Office Mysteries" you found answers for!  Phyllis' one night stand, why Karen doesn't drink Jaeger.  I also liked the visual you created of Karen "not caring"...I could see it.

Author's Response: Thanks! More than anything, I love coming up with theories about all throw away lines on the show.
