First of all ... I love Ryan in my own way... and it's so refreshing to him coming out of his shell.
I came home and saw that Chapter 3 was up... I can't wait to get some quiet and settle in w/ chapter 3.
Ryan and Pam is not scary. I will always have a special place for Jim.

Okay so Ryan is pretty awesome in this story. I don't even care if it might be a teensy bit out of character...I love the interaction between Pam/Ryan and yay! for Jealous Jim. And I can definitely understand Friendly Karen - she's had a few drinks and this gets Pam out of the way. haha
So basically, PLEASE update sooooon. I want to know what happens! Seriously, I'm dying with anticipation. :) Good work so far!
Author's Response: I'm glad you like Ryan's characterization. I know its not what we see on the show, but who wouldn't be grumpy with Michael breathing down your neck all day? I think Ryan has a fun side that we just don't get to see much of. Also glad you think Karen is believable, I think she'd be all over this Pam/Ryan thing, if not just to get her away from Jim. I'm hoping to update tooomorrow!

This is quite the (virtual) page turner. Really feeling Jim's slow, jealous burn...still hoping it will pay-off - with Pam (I know - what a boring Jam-girl thing to say!) Angry desperate reconcilliation...could be scorching. Like the flirtation with Ryan (and its effect on Jim, that lunkhead)...one thing about Pam and Ryan actually doing the deed, however - the fact that he's Kelly's bf actually bugs me less than that Pam is Kelly's friend. Maybe not bff...but enough so that cheating with her bf? I dunno. Call me old fashioned, but sisterhood trumps a night in the sack (especially when the motivation is making someone jealous, not twue wuv.) Ah, well - whatever you do, I'm sure you'll make it riveting and believable...can't wait to see.

Wow, I have to say that I am actually digging Ryan in this story. Never thought that would happen. With Jim asking why Pam was coming on the trip, to him being kind of a jerk, I am liking the Pam/Ryan thing. I am a Jammer at heart though. Either way, great job! Can't wait for the next chapter.

Oh, this is so fun so far! I don't feel like we really see this side of Ryan on the show, but it is believable to me that he does have this nice/friendliness in him, and I wish we could see this Ryan on the show. So long as, you know, he's just making Jim jealous and not actually going to make a move on Pam and cheat on Kelly...

I actually kind of love the Ryan/Pam thing, but it does make me sad that he'd cheat on Kelly (even though Ryan probably would). Go Ryan, I say, because Jim seems to have a stick up his but anyway. Also, yay for Karen's coolness. Great story so far - I can't wait to see what happens.

I have been loving this. Absolutely loving this. And let me tell you, after a really crappy day, it is soo nice to see Jim totally being into Pam and being jealous of Ryan. Really nice. :)
This story is so great, and it's definitely on its own level of stories that take the group out of the office. Everything about it is interesting and real (from Angela sneaking onto the boat to Ryan maybe being not such a stuck-up jackass). I love this. Good job!

I'm not too keen on the actual attraction you're showing between Ryan and Pam. Some conversation and getting along, okay. Tingling with electricity, blech.
I love Jim's ever-so-heartfelt apology and the so mature battle of wits that follows (fine. fine.) This is definitely a Jim who feels he's been wronged. What's that phrase from long ago... "baby, baby, stick your head in gravy!" Yeah, Jim's not acting very mature.
Karen, I think is a little out-of-character; I don't think she's going to be very nice to Pam, or having much girl talk with her!
You know DinkinFlicka, if I have to see any Pryan action, you and I may have to fleece it out. Whatever that means.
Author's Response: Haha, well we will have to see whether or not you want to throw down ;) As for Karen, I know I'm writing her as a little friendlier than usual with Pam, but the reason for that (in my head at least) is that she's catching on to this whole Ryan thing and now she's trying to encourage it big time! Wouldn't that make her life easier? hehe. Plus, I don't think she has much of a reason right now to see Pam as a threat with the way Jim has been acting. Thanks for reviewing!

Ooh, this is interesting! I don't like what Ryan is doing to Kelly, but it fits with the show (I don't like what he does to her there either). I think Pam just appreciates someone filling the Jim void but if things went further I don't know how much I'd mind... just don't make Jim overreact or get physical or anything because I hate the stories where Jim is like "GET YOUR HANDS OFF HER" and throwing punches and stuff. Also I think he's being a little harsh. But I still like that it's subtle!

I'm not so much split as I am curious which direction this will eventually go... If I had to commit to one specific scenario, it would be of the Jim and Pam screaming at each other on the deck of the boat in the middle of the night until their anger turns into... well something else. Something naked else. Huh, what? Yeah. But Ryan is being very charming and sexy. Mainly I'm loving the snide comments Pam and Jim keep throwing at each other. Could this review be more discombobulated? I don't think so. Love this story!

Actually I'm changing my review (can I do that?) i don't like encouraging Karen's bad behavior (getting in the way of true love is not cool in my book, bad karen, bad!) if she's miserable in the end I'll be happy with anything you do. If that includes a hot three way with jim, pam and ryan- so much the better.

I'm totally intrigued with this story! Ryan and Pam flirting is something I've never seen before, and I have to say I'm really enjoying it. But I should say only to the point that it forces Jim to make a move. Because I wouldn't want Pam to hurt Kelly that way, and because Pam/Ryan would be at best a fling, IMO.
But it's awesome to see someone appreciating newly-single Pam's fun, sexy, flirty personality, even if it isn't Jim...yet.
