“Presents?” Pam smiled, but eyed him with some suspicion. “Real presents or 'Look what I have for you in my pants' presents?”
Hands down one of the funniest lines ever!!!!

Oh I love it! Is there going to be more? I must know what these presents are!

I'd love to see something along this line as part of an episode next season. I really like how you stayed true to Jim's inability to put what he really felt about Pam out of his mind, despite everything he did in Season 3 to try and bury those feelings. He just couldn't help thinking about her birthday, even in those "dark" days...it's just not Jim to do that. You definitely captured that in this story.
And happy belated birthday!
Author's Response:
Thanks so much! Yeah, I really believe that despite moments of complete jackassed-ness (I know, not a word!) during s3, he loved Pam more than ever. I think that's why he was in a perpetual bad mood. ;-)
Thank you for taking the time to review!

Boys. They always seem to think "Look what I have for you in my pants" counts. HEE! This story was just so sweet! I love that Jim is trying to turn back the clock and make up for their lost time together.
Author's Response: Maybe it's because I can still see the look on Pam's face when Roy told her what her "valentine's day present" was going to be - but I could just HEAR her saying that to Jim. Half-teasing of course, but let's face it - I bet that was Roy's idea of a birthday present, too. The all-holiday gift! ;-) Thanks for reading!!

Oh Moxie, you know I love you and every word you write, but could you do me a teeny-tiny favor and change the word back to bag in your second to last paragraph?
Not that I didn't enjoy the sombrero-snort moment I just had when I pictured Jim suddenly slinging a messenger boy over his shoulder. fire-man style, on his way to this romantic birthday dinner with Pam, but you know... it kinda took me out of the moment.
Anyway, I'm not trying to pick on you on your birthday. I honestly loved this story! And hope you had a great bird-day! Congrats!
Author's Response:
omg. 29 other reviews and countless read-throughs by yours truly and you were the very first person to note this! I went back to read the sentence (because I didn't know what you were talking about) and I need doubled over in laughter. Whoops! :-D
You are right, that's really not the image I was going for. Thanks for the heads up!!!

Lovely. The 'Look what I have for you in my pants' presents made me laugh, and I like Jim's reaction to it. I also like Jim's description of how that day was for him.
Author's Response:
Thanks, Kev! I think one of things I like most about Jim Halpert is that he's the kind of person who would want to make a big deal out of Pam's birthday (probably did it as much as he could get away with in the 'old days'), and given a situation where I couldn't, it would bug the hell out of him that he could't. Even if was supposed to be 'evolved' away from wanting that. ;-)
Thanks for the review!

Aww. Perfect adorable Jim. I love that Jim admitted to blowing off her birthday but is completely making up. Just adorable.
Author's Response: thanks for the review - I can completely believe that Jim has a list of things he wants to make up for....

“Real presents or 'Look what I have for you in my pants' presents?”
Oh, silliness. That made me laugh outloud. It also reminded me of a South Park episode where Butters tap-dances to a song that goes, "I've got something in my front pocket for you! Why don't you reach down in my pocket, and see what it is?" Heh.
Author's Response:
omg - I forgot about that! I love South Park.
Glad you liked the story - thanks for taking the time to review!!

I'm glad it cheered up your day, Abigail - it always lifts my spirits to write fluff like that. I just hope we see stuff like that in s4!

Aw! Very sweet. And I love the "Look what I have for you in my pants" line. Boys! They never change. :)
Author's Response:
Well, I don't think girls change much either, because I'd pay good money to see what Jim has in his pants for me. (Did I just type that?):-O
Thanks for the review, invis!!

“Real presents or 'Look what I have for you in my pants' presents?” HAHAHAHAHA, awesome.
This was really sweet- I have a soft spot in my heart for the ridiculously sentimental Hallmark cards because there's a whole line of them with just paragraphs of sentences.
This was a fun treat- Happy Birthday!
Author's Response:
I know, me too - and the whole Blue Mountain Arts line before they went online......
Thanks for the review, McGigi!!!

Hey, Moxie, Happy b-day to you! What a treat, getting some more fluff from you today. (At first I thought it was a new chapter of "Boink")
Nice to know that Jim was still thinking of Pam around the end of February, since those were the "dark times" around the art show and the cocktail party, when things looked pretty bad for our favorite couple.
And a present in Jim's pants? Who doesn't love that?
Author's Response:
I have a theory that the times that Jim seemed like the biggest jerk to Pam (jerk being the family friendly word I'm really thinking of) was when he was having the hardest time shoving down his love for her. Like when she left the wedding with Roy and went back to him for that brief time. So yeah, he probably was a total jerk to her on her birthday. He's just lucky he's so loved, that's what I say!
Thanks for the review and birthday wishes!

Happy Birthday to you and thank you for this adorable story. Always happy to read JAM fluff!
Author's Response: thanks so much - and I'm always happy to write JAM fluff!! See? win-win-win! (I don't know exactly what that third win is, but who cares?)

Happy Birthday, Moxie!!!
Do you want to unwrap your present, or are you going to let Pam do it?
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y254/lisahoo/office/unwrap.jpg
Author's Response:
With all due respect to Miss Beesly, she can go find her own boy to unwrap. ;-)
You always know what to get me, LisaHoo! Thanks!!!

You should simply be known as The Master! Fabulous as usual! You really capture the dialogue of the Office characters especially Jim & Pam.
Thanks

Happy Birthday! And I really love the idea of you giving us presents like this on your birthday. So, thank you! (Honestly, how sweet is this? So fluffy and perfect!)
Author's Response: thanks, nqllisi! And writing happy things about Jim and Pam was as much a gift to ME as to you guys. Nothing's nicer than happy, romantic Jam.

happy birthday to you and happy belated birthday to pam. and um, other good and funny stuff. because presents in pants is funny. and... my brain is still asleep. so, that is all. (bad thing since i have work in 30 minutes)
Author's Response: hee - you sound like I felt earlier! Hope you are feeling more awake now, and mucho kudos for leaving a review in such a sleepy state. It makes me happy. :-)

Happy Birthday, girlfriend! As this story proves once again, this place wouldn't be the same without you. And to add yet another voice to the chorus, this line: “Real presents or 'Look what I have for you in my pants' presents?” is not only vintage Moxie...it may forever change my notion of the ideal present. This was totally adorable.
Author's Response:
I know - I didn't expect such overwhelming approval for Miss Beesly's sauciness! Put it up on the list of best all time quotes, right next to "Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship." Okay, maybe not QUITE that good. I'll keep working on it.....
Thanks for the review!!

Moxie what a charming fluffy story. It's a great way to start my day.
You get big bonus points from me for using/mentioning the Viewmont, as it is really the mall locals use more often. :)
Great Job! and Happy Birthday
Author's Response: Yay! I love making the locals happy. :-) Thanks for your review. It was a good way to start MY day! :-)

Awww Mox. So cute you sneaky girl. The happiest of birthdays to you and to Pam. And add my voice to the ones stating that "in my pants presents" is pretty much the greatest line ever.
Author's Response: It's amazing how the best lines always come to you when you least expect them, isn't it? SOOO glad you liked it. :-)
