This is a marvellous and intricate character portrait of Pam Beesly, which could only have come from the perspective of Jim Halpert, the man who loves detail. Will be reading this many times to help my own characterisation of both these characters. I admire how you've got a combination of details explicitly mentioned in canon mixed in with characteristics that we could reasonably infer based on small details in canon episodes. This is an amazing character vignette, which has given me good ideas for my own work. Great job!

i love the way he loves her - and i love the way you paint it. i love that he is both sweet in his affection, and at times really intense and sexual. i cannot imagine what it is like to pine for someone like this for so long, but you really put us in the mindset of what that might be like. looooove it.
Author's Response: Why, thanks! Jim certainly wasn't the caveman Roy was (and lord knows he was a sweetie), but I never saw his loving her as this benign, sexless thing. I'm glad you felt that here. This was one of my first fics, and when I read it now, all I see is klunky phrasing. But when I wrote it, my intent was for that raw heart to come through. Thanks for reminding me of that - lots has happened since S2, but essentially I think he's still that guy.

That has got to be spot on with Jim's mindset before Casino Night. I like the depth you have added to their story with the little vignettes that we would never have known about. Jim spotting Pam changing in the bathroom adds a hint of sexuality to their story that is subtle but believable. Great fic!
