That was great!
Author's Response: Thanks Batman!

This could not possibly have been any more awesome. I could totally see DrunkJim being like this, loving and vulnerable and opening up about past pain. As always, you do such an amazing job with their voices that the scene just comes to life. You know, I had never thought of Pam's bath comment to Roy as being strategic, but you're right, it probably was. Treeee-mendous chapter.
Author's Response: Awwww...you know I respect your opinion so much Broken! Thanks so much for the kind words. I'm REALLY glad DrunkJim rang so true for you. I think writing about drunk characters may be as hard as PLAYING a drunk character in terms of having it come off not too hokey, and more like a legit snockered person. lol. Thanks so much for the review!

God, I LOVE this chapter. So f*cking sweet and adorable and wistful and...I'm going to read it again. I heart drunk, adorable Jim : )
Author's Response: hahaha...I love when people say "I'm gonna read it again" that's the best compliment. Thanks so much!

yay! What a great thing to wake up to today! As usual, I love your Jim and Pam - I mean, really -be honest - you write for the show, right? Because you have their voices down perfectly.
Also? Drunk!Jim is adorable...I'd want to touch his private areas too. Oops...did I say that? ;)
Love it, as always!
Author's Response: HA! Ordinarily I would say I WISHED I wrote for the show...but right now -- I'm not sure I'd want to be a writer. lol. I'm so glad you found the chapter so enjoyable Kells!

Remind me to thank Sweetpea for nudging you, as I reap the benefits. How much do I love your piss drunk Jim? Oh, my goodness. Also - the juxtaposition of drunk Roy obnoxiously coming on to Pam vs. her, not being able to resist Jim (or his, ahem, private areas-ha!) in his deliciously inebriated state? Glad I'm not the only one that B-Ball tub line irked (in fact, I once wrote a b-ball vignette, just so I could re-use that line and make it right, lol.) Seeing a new one of these posted is like buying my fave kind of cookie - I know I won't be disappointed and will be left wanting another. So, how about it?!?
Author's Response: oooh how long have I wanted to pounce on that B-ball line...finally the right time came along! Also, VERY honored to be your cookie peddler. I'll see what I can do about getting you some double fudge...

:smort:
This was all sorts of awesome! Drunk!Jim was hilarious... and a little bit poignant in his honesty. :) After reading this, it makes me kinda mad that Karen got to see Jim in his dorky drunkeness. Seems a little intimate now... :P
Great job, as always!
Author's Response: uh...to be honest I had forgotten ALL about that. I think I may have blocked it out as the traumatic experience it was! oy. Thanks for reviewing CM!

"No poison, just sex."
That's absolutely what I look for ina roommate ;) This whole series is just way too good for words: the banter's spot on, the getting to know you so cute and accurate. This last chapter was interesting with the hint of angst...but totally believable. I have no doubt that they've talked about the Roy factor, but I can totally see Jim letting out just how much it really got to him when he's just completely wasted. And he's a cute drunk! Also, can I say kudos for using the basketball "let's get you into a tub" line? Because I've always been fascinated by that line for the very reason you've pointed out here: it's Pam trying to convince herself that, oops, yep, Jim's hot and that's not a good thing so let's try and remember that Roy is the fiance.
Anywhoo, this was so so adorable, and just what I needed before I start the work week!
Author's Response: Catie9! So sorry I missed this review the first time around! Not sure how I did that...but none the less. I'm glad you and Jim look for the same qualifications in a roomate. lol. SO glad you enjoyed the chapter this much and you're liking the series!

Wow, I'll tell you what. Ole Pammy was right - this asking for what you want is just awesome! So sweet, so funny. Pam touching him in his private areas is just the funniest thing ever. I heard that whole exchange (especially "oh my goodness") in Pam's voice from The Injury when she was talking to poor, concussed Dwight. Man, I love drunk!Jim so much but I love your Pam best out of all the Pams. Thank you!!!
Author's Response: Well thanks for bringing this chapter back down to earth, my friend. It hovered in some weird realm before you got a hold of it. :-) Here's to you and Pam asking for what you want! You think if I ask for my show back, I'll get it? lol.

"...and then I'm going to come back and touch you in your private areas..."
LOL!!! Best. Line. Ever. =)
Author's Response: hahaha....seems to be the consensus. ;-) Thanks SO MUCH!

Eek, I love this. LoveFool, you write such great dialogue. Your drunk Jim is perfect here, and just how I'd imagine he would be. All of these chapters vacillate between funny and touching so well, and this one in particular. The "poisoned" exchange was hilarious, and the Keds/tub thing broke my heart. Oh, Jim. And the sweaty hair -- aw. That is all.
Author's Response: hehehe...I'm such a sucker for sweaty head. lol. WEIRD. Thanks so much for the awesome compliments, 30!

This reminds me of my husband. He is the same way when he gets trashed (which I have only since once). It was very sweet and funny. classic JAM.
Author's Response: Thanks Hamrensel! I'm so glad this rang true for you.

I love what you have so far. It seems very natural and the dialogue is very true to the characters. I especially liked that monkies thing. I was cracking up for a full minute, seriously. Even now, I'm still laughing.

This is pretty much a blanket review for the entire series, because this is exactly what I was looking for when I started searching for JAM fanfic - something probable, sweet, natural, and funny. I get a little uncomfortable reading too much steamy stuff when it comes to these two because their story doesn't play out that way on the show. This series has it juuuuuust right, and you know these characters and their speech patterns as well as any of the staff writers! Bravo!

"Oh my God Pam! You're totally messing up the bed! What the hell are we gonna do now!" Jim yelled. HA! I can totally see that.
And messing up the bed is definitely the best part.

That was great lovefool. Just the perfect playful yet loving, sexy tone. Your dialogue for Jim seemed to really ring true to the character.

Love, Love, Love, Love, Love.
Especially since I'm a bed-making freak, too. No one else can make my bed just right.
And this line: Did you pay no attention to the monkeys at all?
OWNS me...

Go Jim.......lol

You already know I live for these little moments. But, could I adore frisky, teasing, bed-messing Jim any more? You seriously channel the characters in the dialogue - this chapter is jampacked with gems: The standards, "This is not a thing!"...and my fave: Pam...did you pay no attention to the monkies at all?
I am an absolute glutton for these vignettes. It's become a true vice.

"Living room? Oh right...you like to do it when Larry King is on....so weird," Jim added quietly. "Makes me feel dirty."
Hee! "Scranton, P-A, hello!" This is so cute! We need to know about Jim's thing. I mean his quirks, of course.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Ha! Awesome and adorable. Although, I have to say, I'm with Jim - I'm not a big toe socks fan!
Date: September 09, 2007 09:15 am Title: Toe Socks
thank you, lovefool. i needed to practice doing the heimlich on myself, and this certainly did the trick.
but then i'm sad because i love toe socks, but my toes are too short for them to look cute on me.
and then i go bursting into a fit of giggles again.

Such a cute chapter...you really captured them...I love it. And, your last line made me even chuckle. Great job!!!
