You have their banter down so well and it reads so easily. Very cute (that's a good thing, just happy Jim & Pam are quite cute and a bit dorky).

Hee! I like the way this slowly moved from heavy and intense and dissolved into silliness. I must say, it features some of the best writing you've done yet. Really evocative beginning; I like the idea that Jim is such a Time Guy.

How did I not review this yet? Loved, of course. But also really impressed. I read numbers, and it was pretty much like reading Chinese. Very impressive, Moxie-controlled!Jim. Even more impressing? How much of a hussy Pam is. I tell ya, that boy tends to emphasize that trait in us females..

I can totally imagine Jim's growing sense of panic and despair as he counted the days down to June 10th. I really believe that he probably obsessed over it more than Pam.
And I can see them both being nervous about getting too serious too quickly. Being truthful with each other about their feelings is a relatively new experience. Can't wait to see how this is handled on the show. Hope it gradually unfolds over the season.

I like how the first half of this takes place entirely in Jim's head. I'm not sure that Jim would be so 'Rainman' in his counting, but he is definitely aware, and sentimental, so you make a convincing case for Jim being a bit obsessive in counting the days relating to all things Pam.
Am I mean for thinking Jim would be all over celebrating every interval of time spent with Pam as opposed to the lame 6 month anniversary with Karen? Oh well, no surprise there.
“Forget that I don't have to hide how I really feel from you anymore, I guess,” she finally confessed. Give me a big helping of that dynamic in S4, oh please, oh please!!!
And I second the request for a sequel based on Jim's last comment.

We'll see how it goes. ;-) As for the Rainmain thing, perhaps I could have been a little clearer - I do only think he's aware of such things if and when they apply to Pam. I mean, let's face it - the boy has had a lot of free time on his hands in the past to contemplate such things.... (hopefully he'll be much too busy in s4!) And I totally agree. Every anniversary they have will be remembered by Jim. Karen Who? ;-)

I love the bit of Jim's neuroses we get here at the beginning. It is beautifully written, so true to Jim's character and just plain funny. 'Fortunately it was also the night he had been able to set the counter back to zero.' And that is just a beautiful line.
I just love waking up to a one-shot from Moxie! Yay!

This is a little different for you, Mox...more of a complete story in a single conversation, than a multi-moment (multi-scene) narrative. Very effective (love your usual sagas too, of course, but this is a nice variation.) And just as sweet and funny. Great last line too. That Pam - always with her mind in the gutter ;-)

just a question - how much counting did you do to get all of those numbers (ex 372 days since the kiss)... cause, that is a heck of a lot of numbers.
Has it really been like 3 months. *counts* may-june, june-july, july-august.... wow this summer past fast. of course, until sept 27th will drag on and on! (38 days, 10 hours, 35 mins, 02 secs)
"seven million nine hundred forty eight thousand eight hundred seconds." too many numbers... brain exploding. don't you know its summer. besides, i am done with math classes, and numbers are just not worth it.
why can I not have a Jim?
Oh this was so good, and oddly enough reminded me of the show House also. So win win.
