Author's Response: Indeed, I'm thinking maybe it was unrealistic to keep them apart so long! And I think the next day will be a mixture of both. Maybe mostly awkward, but hopefully not painfully so.

Wow, this is pretty damn good. Each chapter is better than the last, you seem to be finding your stride. I'm guessing I speak for many when I say I'll be really excited to see the next chapter.
I wish I was as good at sleeping in the car as them...I'm lucky if I can doze for an hour in the car.

Author's Response: I know, they do spend a lot of time sleeping! But on long road trips I admit to be the kind of person who ends up sleeping through the majority of the day. And I think it's becoming increasingly clear that Jim is an excellent sleeper. I keep thinking he ought to be in a little more torn-up and dejected state at this point, but I'm just assuming he's able to kind of forget everything and just be with her on this trip, kind of like she's doing (or at least, trying to do). Thanks for the review, it's nice to hear that it's getting better and not worse ;)

Wow. I'm loving the self-inventory these two are taking as a result of their impulsive road trip. Exploring who they want to be, and what the other brings out in each of them, along with the delicious tension of 'things I'll inevitable ignore' are much more interesting than a random masturbation scene.
I think they are both so tentative around each other right now that it would seem OOC, IMHO. I think I'd find it more realistic for one of them to get up to go to the bathroom and crawl into the 'wrong' bed. But not quite yet.
Author's Response: Thanks for the detailed review! I'm trying to keep the tension up as long as I can because it's more realistic, I think, but it's hard not to give into the temptation to just write smut... I'm glad you're enjoying it :)
