I think the part that got to me the most was Mrs. Halpert asking how long and Jim saying "forever."
Or, wait, is it Halpert or Anderson? I'm sort of vaguely imagining they have different fathers because I can't really imagine Jim Anderson or Roy Halpert.
Anyway...
This is, obviously, such a different take. I'm looking forward to seeing where you go with the story and how it's resolved, given all the complications.

YAY an update. Urgh Pam needs to realise she's with the wrong Brother. Look at Roy. Yes he's not a bad man, he's just the WRONG man for her :(

I really like the unique angle of this story! Of course I HATE that Jim caved and not onlt helped Roy, pleading his case to Pam thereby crushing Jim's chances at least for now, but the fact that he was selling Roy's lie about missing the dinner when he knew the truth, Roy was completely neglectfl , just about killed me. I was so sad that after Pam was ready to face her feelings for Jim, he crushed her. I hope you are sticking with this because I can't wait to see where it goes next and I'm of course really hoping for Jim and Pam together by the end! REALY hope you update SOON!

Roy and Jim are brothers!? I definitely haven't read this story before today, and I'm really mad at myself for not reading sooner! I'm so completely intrigued I was really bummed that there was no 'next' button after chapter 4. What I really like is that Pam is so open with her feelings for Jim, even if it's inner monologue. And she's in such a sticky situation, and I hope you continue to be inspired to write the rest of this very original and extremely interesting story. :)

This chapter has successfully made this story far more complex, in a good but also slightly painful way.
This segment seems to mark a change in the overall direction of your story. Where before Jim seemed to be the "good" guy, suffering in silence, he now appears partially responsible for creating the status quo. The Roy/Jim dynamic is also much more real and understandable now, if also more uncomfortable. In fact, there is hardly a person in this chapter that the reader doesn't have reason to question or become upset with. For example, you paint Jim's father as sympathetic to Jim - or at least aware of his situation. But if so, why the fishing trip and why the silence during the brother's exchange? Tom is another unforeseen complication with a myopic perspective, and lovely Pam seems unsure, even fickle. In short, a bunch of intriguing moments.
I really look forward to seeing where you go with this. I've enjoyed some of your other AUs, so I have no doubt this one will be equally as fun to follow.
