I was just about to shut off my computer, when I suddenly had a hankerin' for some fic. And your fic, specifically. I swear, it was like "must read xo's fic" Thought you would like to know that.
I think Jim needs to teach me some laundry skills. I did laundry at camp, and it was these little tablets, and it did it all. Now I have to actually measure stuff. I still don't believe in separating clothes or any of that fancy stuff.
When I was at college, I always got lucky with laundry. I did it at odd times (weekday mornings), so I never had anyone touch my clothes or anything weird. Usually I had the whole place to myself (really, considering there were like 1,000 people and 6 washers, it was a rare feat). Scary laundry guys are not cool.
Protective Jim. Both of Pam and Pam's girly things.

Jim to the rescue! Which I typed "rescute", and I guess that is exactly what I mean, anyway. I love that Pam was scared but doesn't want to be coddled, and that Jim realized what he was doing just before he got to be too patronizing. Lovely, lovely, as usual- how did I miss this when you posted it?

Okay, I'm reviewing twice to save you from the horror of13 reviews. I will just add that I like the depiction of protective Jim here...I think you got him exactly right. You're very kind to me. What is it about my stories and only 13 people reveiwing them??? Annoying. Don't they know I don't like odd numbers?? Glad you remembered though. Thank you. Thanks for saying that. I was just thinking that Jim wouldn't be all in this guys face - and that his salesman skills would come into play. That said - I think if the guy had laid a hand on Pam he'd have clocked him. :)

Laundry fic! Yay! I love it. I'm totally voting for its inclusion as an official new sub-genre.
I love that you took such a throwaway line and built and entire history for it. A believable one at that. (Though I must admit I also had visions of the Ross & Rachel At the Laundromat episode.)

GUH - I could totally picture that and it was extremely hot.
I LOVED it. I loved how Jim was all grrr Mr. Sexy boyfriend being all worried about her, seriously awesome.
I agree, laundryfic IS it's own genre, campaign to get your own section =)

See? This proves you're the Scholar Emeritus of the Laundry Genre ;-) I like how you tied in the bit about Jim telling her to send those drawings to Pratt a la GT.This is cozy as a very cozy thing...love Jim being so familiar with her girl things and protective without going neanderthal. Warm and fuzzy and I think you should work for P&G, developing fabric softener commercials starring these two. I'd buy whatever they're selling - even without a coupon.

I'm so glad it was you to tackle this. I loved your other story and linked it in the episode thread for those who hadn't read it yet.
I loved Jim coming in and protecting her. I also love how he's concened about coming off too "Roy"ish, but of course, Pam understands that. Choosing sketches for her application to Pratt was a great tie-in too.
There's always one or two sketchy people at the laundromat. My condo building has a communal laundry room and occasionally I run into someone who doesn't respond or even look at you when you say hello, and you wonder what their dealio is.
I think your next project should be a story about their trip to Sears to buy the washer/dryer. Jim could make more comments about the ability of the different washers to take care of her "delicates".
Thanks so much for this! I have a ton of laundry to do later, and I'll be in a much happier frame of mind thanks to this lovely fic.

Well done - you do Jim and Pam banter very, very well. That's one thing I've always loved and appreciated about your writing. Very firm grasp on their characters.

Ah, this is great! You wove all those little details together so nicely. Jim's reaction to the crazy guy and his concern about her safety ring very true. Love how he moves her to stand behind him. And the banter... love the banter. This in particular:

"We said we'd never talk about that again and eww."
