That was a great chapter. I was really loving Pam's back and forth reverie as she was on the train, thinking back to how she and Jim reconciled. Which, by the way, was adorable. How they left makes me a bit worried about what's going to happen over their winter break, but I have lots of hope for them in this story!!
Author's Response: I'm so glad you didn't mind the whole back and forth thing because that was the main thing I debated over for hours before finally posting this chapter. Author's Response: A pretty close friend of mine is SUCH a Kelly, I feel like the character comes somewhat naturally to me, which has helped tremendously. Haha. I wish they featured more girl talk on the actual show. :(

i am full metal in love with this story and have been feverishly downloading each song as i go. i have the utmost respect for people who really know how to set a story to music, and you've got it down. and as a fellow West Suburban Chicagolander, i've been loving the references to the city. also, way to write an au where the characters still feel like jim and pam. i love this!

I don't post on here a lot, but I am absolutely in LOVE with this story! Pam's confidence in herself to say no to Roy, and to stand up to Jim with her ”Your parents really know how to party” quote... I love it! Awesome job!

I've also seriously considered writing the story from Jim's point of view, because I think it could be pretty interesting to get inside that boy's head... P.S. re: Chicago and cold - I lived near the lake and don't miss the wind! I'm actually in the South now and missing snow, but I'm from upstate NY, about an hour from the Western Mass border and a straight shot down from Quebec, so I'm used to the Canadian front Nor'easters.

I love that you provided the songs to listen to while reading this chapter--it really helped get into Pam's mindset. I usually can find one or two things wrong with any fic I read but I can't find anything that stands out to me & I can't wait to see where you take these two. Is it weird that I can't wait until they change their relationship statuses on facebook?

I'm my own worst critic I guess, because I'm always finding something wrong with the story, and I'm sure the moderators on this site hate me because I probably send each story into the queue 30, 50 times before I'm just sorta "ok" with the final result. Wow, I just read all these chapters at once and I'm really enjoying this. Firstly,I like you following the old adage of writing what you know. You really give the feel of Chicago and its citizens and the things that matter and really, just get the atmosphere down without being heavy handed and are really just ivniting us to your city. Secondly, the way you've drawn Pam with a certain understanding of her indecisiveness andhow I really love how for her the fairy tale does not start with the prince, but jsut her, the princess and what she wants for herself. You've really done a great job portraying someone figuring out who they are and could be. Thirdly, you are developing the Jim/Pam relationship so nicely. I loved the scene of them on the subway on the ride home from the game. You are doing it with a kind of gentle ease and I like that a lot. Nothing is rushed, things just...are. And you are doing it all witha respect to Pam/Roy without having to make him the bad guy or an evil oaf. Lastly, we share so many music tastes, it's insane, so, um, really great music choices there. Really looking forward to more.
