Ahhhhhh!!!
This chapter was perfection! I loved how you captured the gut-wrenching awkwardness of Goodbye, Toby by having Roy drop in. Brilliant!
Also, Jim's "Yeah...I was going to ask you tonight" broke my heart the same way him putting the ring away in GT did.
Fabulous work, Nightswept!! I can't wait for more.
Author's Response: Aw, I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter and the sudden reappearance of Roy. You all should have suspected that he would drop in again before the story was over. Heh-heh. ;)
Thank you for reading, and for the wonderful review!

Firstly, Haha I like your idea about writing a short series on all the things we'd like to see Jim do, oh come on, you'd be so freaking awesome. I'd totally throw ideas at you and become your cheerleader lmao.
Now, omg this is so coming to an end and it makes me want to cry. I seriously have never enjoyed a series as much as this one.
You wrote Dwight so perfectly in this chapter, I was actually chuckling to myself as I read it, especially when he was in the yard with Pam and then on the roof, oh and checking the smoke alarms, you can just see him doing that.
I can’t believe Kelly told Pam, and how he was going to ask her tonight GUH… I must know what happens next before my head combusts.
Feel better chickypoo, I cannot wait until the next update ahhh!! Your fics make me hyper lol.
Author's Response: Ha-ha. Yes! We must start a short series of Jim fantasies. That would be amaaaazing!! /Kelly.
Oh, I am going to miss your comments oh, so much. I hope you are pleased with how it all ends, and let me know how you feel toward the idea of a possible sequel? Just something that's bouncing around in my mind for now. ;) Thank you for the get well wishes; I'm doing ok today. I don't know why, but around this time every year, I'm sick, and if I don't get rid of it by Saturday, that will make 7 years in a row that I'm sick on my birthday. Suck!

Okay, I don't have a huge comment this time, except that Jim Halpert in glasses is one of my ultimate fantasies. I know that makes me a bigger dork than anyone has a right to be, but the idea of that, to me, is so hot. Aahh! Please at least end the story with the "real" proposal. We know it's coming!

I know I've been a bad reader and haven't reviewed the past few chapters but I am reading this and loving it per usual! So good, you!
I really loved this chapter, by the way. The funny thing was that it seemed.. bittersweet, almost. I could sense that the end was near reading this, because, barring a kick-ass sequel or something, there's really nowhere for them to go. They're being pretty successful at the long-distance relationship and Pam's growing into this fucking awesome person that can cook and sew and ugh, I am so proud of her. Even if she's fictional, heh.
And JIM! Fucking Jim. Sigh. Anyway, yeah, I really loved this.. the random, sweet, sexy, and funny moments you portrayed in this is just really brilliant.
I'm not sure how I'd want it to end, and honestly, I think you would do an awesome job at that, whatever it may be so I'll leave it in your hands.
Also, I remember you saying once in a response to a review that you were thinking of a sequel.. I know school is starting up for you again but you should think about it. You're so awesome at this and I love this world you've created and yeah.. you need a distraction from the boring papers you have to write anyway, right? ;)
Author's Response: Yes, sadly the story has reached it's end. I thank you for taking the journey along with me and inspiring me with your wonderful, wonderful reviews.
I'm still tossing around sequel ideas in that crazy ol' head of mine. I know people are somewhat hesitant toward A/U stories, so I'm not sure if I want to continue with Chicago/Kenosha Jim and Pam or try something that directly ties to the show. Decisions, decisions. I do feel that this A/U Jim and Pam have a lot of adventures ahead, and would love to continue to share their story with all of you. Pam has slowly developed into her own person, but we all know that she (and Jim) have a plenty more growing up to do. So, we'll see...
Thank you for all of your wonderful, encouraging comments and pushing me along to keep writing everyday. You are truly amazing, my friend.

awwwww. cuteness!!! I adored this chapter. Pam's trying to learn how to be a good wife. And Jim bought a ring!!! yay! I'm so happy that Pam has found her footing, and that she's on better terms with her Mom. And Karen has actually turned out to be a very good influence. :) this chapter = happiness
Author's Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you.

I feel so bad that I didn't comment more often with this story. I absolutely love it and will be sad to see it come to an end. I don't care where you end it because you have done such a wonderful job with it. I have a whole new love for all the characters from this one.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for all of your kind words, and I appreciate the review! I'm glad that you have enjoyed this story and followed it through its end. It really means a lot.

i just wanted to let you know that when Jim told Pam he was in love with her, I cried. and it was unbelievably perfect.
this is the reason i read fanfiction.
thank you. :)
Author's Response: Wow. It feels so wonderful to read such an amazing review. Thank you for taking the time to read, and I'm so happy that you enjoyed this chapter.

I'm unable to do check MTT for a day and look at what I get when I come back: 2 chapters! AND a new playlist. I'm going to miss this story, no doubt, but I'm also going to truly miss all this music. I love that song by The Weepies.
I enjoyed the fun and ease of the last chapter and I also enjoyed the seeds you dropped in this chapter. Jim encouraging Pam to focus on her illustrations, Pam's want to improve her cooking skills for the future, Pam speaking to her mother, the final ring conversation. All of this leading to more things in the future for Pam and Jim. I liked seeing Karen again and was amused by her gift to Pam, as well as Pam's reaction. And Jim's gift was a welcome complement to that gift too.
Oh and the cockroach scene was hilarious and so familiar. Though I'm the resident exterminator in my house.
I don't want to think of the story ending :( It's such a welcoming and comforting feeling to sit down with a new chapter every time you update. But all things must end. I'm not sure how I want to see it come to a close. Not on a proposal, I don't think, or even a wedding. I know these things will happen for them, but in this story, it's never been about the big things for their relationship, but more about the small ones. I can almost see it closing on music and keds just to keep it cyclical. I personally love glimpses into the couple's future when a story ends, but I'm not sure if that's something you were interested in doing. I'd also love to see more Angela and Kelly before you tie things up.
Ultimately, you continuously keep me happy with everything you bring about for Jim and Pam, so I feel anything you eventually offer up will be just right. Looking forward to it!
Author's Response: And I am going to miss your wonderful, wonderful comments bringing me cheer and inspiration everyday. It's readers like you who have kept me going throughout this story, and I thank you for that.
I'm glad that you have continued to enjoy this story and the direction it has traveled. I have a few ideas about the ending, but I'm still not sure which path I'll take. Either way, I hope it satisfies. I promise we have not seen the last of Angela and Kelly. :)

I love this Pam, she took steps and now she speaks with her mom regularly. Good news, that. I also like that although Jim and Pam are dealing a lot better with their long-distance relationship, you've acknowledged that it still sucks.
I'm sad that we are nearing the end of this story... now what am I supposed to do while I wait for winter to melt away and summer to come back?? But I'll say this, I've missed Kelly and Angela last few chapters, I hope we haven't heard the last from Pam's 'family'. I also need, of course, more on that ring! Keep bringing the steamy too, it is always appreciated.
Oh, and BOO roaches!! Move Jim outta that apartment immediately! Yuck!
Author's Response: I'm so ready to kick winter to the curb, and we're only in month one. I'm starting to get all sick and sniffly and I hate it. Chicago is also under a "blizzard watch" tonight. Fun stuff.
I promise you haven't heard the last of Pam's family. They're in the latest chapter, in fact, and have a few secrets they've been asked to keep under wraps. ;)
I'm glad you are pleased with the new and improved Pam as she struggles toward finding her true self and tries to improve her relationship with her actual family. Aw. Our little Pam is growing up. Yay!
Thank you so much for taking the time to review. It is very much appreciated!

I am pretending you did not just say this is coming to an end, no, seriously no :( Come on, how can you do this to us? I do not care you have school; your fic is what gets me through the crappy weeks that I endure.
I freaking loved everything about this chapter. I am still enjoying Karen’s presence and love how she’s made Pam think about getting in touch with her Mom more, and teaching her to cook and sew. I so lol when Jim asked if she was training to be a 1950’s wife lmao.
Maybe I’m just a pervert, but I’d love to have seen Pam using Karen’s present (or Jim using it on her, oh yes, that is hotter, omg, next chapter don’t you think? Lmao)
Jim buying Pam a bed, that tots made me want to jump him lol.
The whole bet thing, and how he bought his ring with his first paycheck, guh, that seriously made my tummy do flips inside, that was so cute.
This has by far been my favorite series I have ever read. I hope you will continue writing stories like this, because you are phenomenal.
Author's Response: Your kind words have definitely inspired me to continue writing, and I thank you for your praise and encouragement. Seriously, as someone who is her own worst critic when it comes to penning this story, and is never satisfied with the end result, it really means a lot to hear that you are enjoying it so much. You are amazing.
I'm glad you have enjoyed Karen in this story and her influence on Pam's life as she heads into a new direction. That is what college is truly about- discovering your true self, and I'm glad Pam had a friend closeby to help her along the way. I really, really, really, really don't want to bring this story to a close, but I know I'll be a busy bee in the next couple of months and I'd hate to disappoint with lack of updates. Perhaps soon I shall begin a new chapter in the lives of Pam and Jim. We'll see... :)

this is still super awesome.
ahhhhh, he bought a ring (:
Author's Response: Ahh, thank you! :D

Date: January 09, 2009 04:04 pm Title: Spring and by Summer Fall
Thats how I would react if a roach was ever seen by my eyes! "oh my god. its on me!" haha I loved that!
And as always, this story owns me.
Author's Response: I can handle ladybugs. I can almost handle crickets. I draw the line at roaches. And spiders. And if I find a rat in my apartment, I am abandoning my apartment and all of my belongings and I shall never return.

I don't know what I will do without lovely updates of this story! I'm very excited to see what you will do with this story and it's conclusion. I have been a big fan all the way through. :)
Author's Response: It makes me so happy to hear that you have enjoyed this story since the beginning, while I've slowly struggled through my first piece of non-script-fic fanfiction. What a kooky phrase. Can you say that three times fast? Ha-ha. Thank you so much for the review.
Date: January 09, 2009 03:16 pm Title: Brighter Discontent
I love the picture you are painting here. I have the most ridiculous smile on my face after this chapter! And I love that you are making Karen out to be a normal friendly person that can legitimately be friends with Pam and not treated like a villain like she was on the show! I was sad to see there are only two chapters left, but I have a feeling I'll keep reading it over and over.
Author's Response: I'm glad you love this AU Karen, I hate, hate seeing her portrayed as "the enemy", as I think that had it not been for Jim being in the middle, she would probably make a pretty awesome girl friend. I'm glad that you are enjoying this story, and thank you so much for the review!
Date: January 09, 2009 03:03 pm Title: Spring and by Summer Fall
ooh he bought a ring! I love the ending here - it's so great how you had that play out and it's reflection from the show but in a different light. Love it! I'm so sad to hear there's only 2 more chapters left! I hope our boy puts that ring to good use soon! Can't wait to finish this off.
Author's Response: He bought it! He so bought a ring! Ugh, just when I thought I couldn't fall in love with Jim anymore, he goes out and uses his first paycheck to by a frakkin' engagement ring. How friggin' adorable. No way those guys exist.
I'm glad you enjoyed the ties to the show, because it's so important that even though this is an A/U story, I want to keep the characters as close to their original selves as possible- if that makes sense. :) Thank you for reviewing.
Date: January 09, 2009 02:39 pm Title: Spring and by Summer Fall
ok i am loving you right now for updating this story so fast!!!! but i am also sad that it is coming to an end.
Author's Response: Thank you. I, too, hate to see it come to an end, but I'm sure once Spring Break arrives, I'll get bored all over again and I'll be inspired to write something else. We shall see...
Date: January 09, 2009 02:04 pm Title: Spring and by Summer Fall
So awesome and totally made my Friday. I'm crushed there is only two more chapters left, I hope maybe an epilogue where we can see them get married, settled, peek into the future etc.
Love this chapter and how domestic Pam is trying to be, plus reconnecting with her mom. Great stuff. Of course, all the stuff with them together is awesome and her being a little more physically proactive. Hopefully more smut too before this comes to a close :)
Author's Response: I hate to bring this story to an end. I've just enjoyed writing it so much over the past couple of weeks. There will definitely be an epilogue... But I will tell you how it ends just yet. ;)
I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed the chapter and all of the changes Pam is going through, trying to become the perfect little future wife for Jim. I'm so happy she's learning how to cook, because for awhile there I was very concerned for the other tenants of her apartment building. As a fellow apartment dweller myself, and without renter's insurance- stupid me, that's always been a huge worry of mine. Then again, I'm an over-worrier.

Again, an awesome chapter! And while I'm sad to know there are only 2 more chapters to go, I can only hope that it ends on a good note! Maybe not next chapter, since I think this story needs a bit more drama (maybe a confrontation again with between Jim and Pam's parents?) but with a sugary ending (maybe a proposal?? hint?? HINT?? HINT?!!?!) Either way, your writing is stunningly in character as always, and I can only dream of the day I can write this well, haha
Author's Response: Wow. That's so wonderful to hear from you, because I do not think of myself as a great writer at all. Thank you for bearing with me while I learn the ropes. Also, there may be a wee bit drama in the next chapter... ;)

Happy birthday to Jim, indeed.
Warning: R-rated comment:
My EX-boyfriend used to enjoy demanding "happy birthday b***jobs" (365 days a year). The demands were not met (what lady likes having those kinds of demands made?) If he'd been more like Jim, one might have been more eager to make his day, birth or not, happier.
*sigh* every girl should have a Jim...
Author's Response: What kind of guy demands that kind of service 365 days a year? Sounds like he needs to join some kind of BJ-Addiction Anonymous. Or, he needs to take some tips from Mr. Jim Halpert and find out everything he is doing right because I concur! Every girl should have a Jim. And if I had a Jim, I would never leave the house. So hopefully, I would have won the lottery or something because I would keep my Jim, chained to my bed, and... Well, I've already taken this response to far, haven't I?

Date: January 09, 2009 01:18 am Title: Your Birthday Present
*Collapses in a big heap of deadness*
I think you actually climbed in to my brain and stole all sexy Jim thoughts. Firstly, thank you SO much for fulfilling my Jim in the kitchen/ baking fantasy, that was so hot and I will go to sleep happy tonight.
Secondly, Jim putting up a painting, I don’t know why, but Jim doing any sort of DIY is kind of ridiculously hot and it makes me hope we see Jim doing the house up sometime *drool*
Jim eating his cereal with a mixing spoon? Oh, for the WIN, seriously I can totally picture it and it makes me LOL every time.
Pam going down and dirty with Jim? OMG seriously so freaking hot, I DEFINITELY will be having nice dreams tonight lmfao.
I’m so happy they have made up and that Pam jumped on a train to go and see him, I couldn’t deal with the angst lmao.
I officially love you, yes that is right, I am declaring my love for you right here in this review!!!!!
Author's Response: Uh, hello? I love you, too! Your reviews always make my day. They're heartwarming and kind, and funny and oh, DIY Jim is so hot. Hel-lo. Where is the fanfic that's just all Jim fantasies? Baking Jim, DIY Jim, English Teacher Jim, Grocery Shopping Jim, Jim shaving, Jim brushing his teeth... If there is one, I think I need to know about it. If there isn't, I'm thinking you and I need to get together and get this started. Ha-ha.

Goodness gracious....that is all.
Author's Response: Ha-ha. I hope that is a good thing? ;)
Date: January 08, 2009 08:14 pm Title: Your Birthday Present
So my day wasn't a ton better at work today, but this yet again made it better :)
And work isn't going to get better for another week or two so the faster you get these up, the happier I'll be ;) No pressure, promise.
Great chapter, love the fluff and seeing them happy again. Can't wait for more domestic cuteness. And I'm glad Pam finally returned the favor. It is only fair :)
More smut please and you're doing great! Love the fic as always.
Author's Response: Aw, I'm sorry to hear that work hasn't been the best, but I'm happy to hear that my little story is providing somewhat of a bright spot in your day. Really, it makes me feel like all of the hard work and late nights are totally worth it, because I have lived and breathed this story for the past month. I'm sad that I have to bring it to an end, but life must go on I guess... :(
Date: January 08, 2009 04:53 pm Title: Your Birthday Present
I absolutely love this story. I love all the subtle little Office tidbits you put in - like "tie goes to the girlfriend" and other quotes like that. Although it would be nice to read happy happy fluff all the time, I appreciate the struggles that you put them through - it's very realistic.
The only thing that I don't like about this story is that I have to keep waiting for you to update! Can't you just quit your job and stop hanging out with friends and finish this story for us? Pretty please?!? :)
Author's Response: Ha-ha. I have been such a recluse the past couple of months, it's not even funny. I finally went out last night for the first time in... well, forever really and I couldn't help but feel guilty that I wasn't at home, writing. This story completely owns my life. It's sad. So I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying it. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and review.

Holy hell, that was hot! Amongst my apparent love for alliteration, I can't say enough about how much I love how you do the banter between Jim and Pam. The apron fetish, how entranced Jim was with his present, the quote "you're just asking for a good beating"... just magic. I can only hope this story goes on forever haha
Author's Response: Thanks to the creative geniuses that are the writers of The Office, I think it's so hard to get the banter between Jim and Pam just right. So, it's great to hear that you enjoy it. Thank you. :)
