This was fantastic. And I have to ditto those who have said it's wonderful to see Casino Night presented again in a way that is out of the ordinary. I also love the ending. I've written a thing or two that doesn't wrap up in a nice little bow and though it's hard to resist - I think the writing is better for it. So thanks for this and welcome to MTT. :)

This is just wonderful, both in concept and execution. It's so rare to see a unique take on the CN aftermath. The emotions are so close to the surface but in such a simple, understated way. I particularly liked the parts about the folding of the paper and his save-the-date masochism, and how he's hiding behind his sunglasses--oh, ouch. Lovely. And I loved the ending. It doesn't need more; it leaves the reader on just the right note.

I really enjoyed this - I love when someone takes a much written about episode like CN and makes it fresh all over again, as you did here. Wonderful writing - simple and succinct, yet so full of the despair and disorientation that Jim must have felt. The detail about him folding the save the date card is so symbolic, but in such a natural understated way - and then the perfect heartbreak of him handing it to the ticket woman. Well...I could go on, but, I'll leave it at saying this was achingly heartfelt and lovely - and very true to character.
Also, I think you ended it in the perfect way and place - just enough and so much more powerful than if you'd tied it all up. Very complete and with just the right note of hope.
