I'm still reading this story (it's a great idea, and I enjoy every chapter!), but I feel I need to stop in this chapter particularly.
I was in... well... similar situation many years ago, and when I was reading the chapter, it hit me so hard with all the memories I have and all the feelings I sensed that time. Seriously, I was reading it with a lump in my throat. The way your writing makes me feel it's just... it's a talent. You have the talent to capture emotions and retranslate them into words and... gah, I'm not so skilled with words as you are :)

While I'm going to HATE seeing this end, I do love this story :) And being a Massachusetts girl myself, Molly Halpert going off the Amherst (where some... nope, where the majority of the people I know and love went off to college) makes me squee with joy :)
And this? Pam sniffed and wiped at a tear before it could drip off of her chin and onto the box below her. “What if they don’t miss me, Jim? What if they don’t miss their mother?” I'm certain that's exactly what just happened to my mother-in-law when my little sister-in-law went off to college this year. Perfect :)
