Oooh this is a nice jaunt into"what if" land. Thanks so much for this! Creative, really well-written, and fun!

I especially loved the last one. Wouldn't that have been lovely? And saved us a lot of time?

Very cool. You took 5 alt-universe ideas and crammed them into one story! Not fair! What's everybody else supposed to use now? Lol... Loved it!

You've been doing a lot of thinking, bashert :) One little detail change can make such a difference. Makes me think of taking the other path in a fork in the road.
My favorite: At the end of his first day, he’s just happy that he survived, and he suddenly gets a burst of courage and when he walks past Pam’s desk, he taps his knuckles on the top and smiles at her.
“Hey, do you want to get dinner sometime?” And she beams, and her smile is really, really beautiful, and she says,
“Sure, that would be really great.”
I'm hoping you stay inspired!

I loved this. Great concise telling of the different scenarios. And I always find it so tragically bittersweet when Jim stays with Karen and there's the notion that he doesn't quite love her, but he'd like to, because she's there. And oh god, he lost the folder! Oh, if only he'd known.... Oh and I'd love to see a follow up to 5, Jim and Pam as roommates.

I always think I'll just read one of your stories and then continue web surfing but you make it so impossible to not leave a review! #4 completely and utterly broke my heart because it's the smallest of things that make all the difference, isn't it? So much joy in #5 and somehow of all the reasons why Jim never called Pam, the possibility of Roy answering never occurred to me... And as much as I'd like Jim to have the job of his dreams at a sports mag in Philly, I'm glad that didn't happen, either. :)
Well done!
