Ugh, you made me like Jim/Pam babyfic. I found myself smiling throughout your story, and now I'm cringing my nose in an effort to rebalance. I'm a sucker for Jim being a dad.
This struck a great balance though--it was adorable, funny, and incredibly sweet without being cheesy or over the top. It felt real and sincere, which is what made it so good. Your use of the babies' POV was genius.
How's that Jim/Roy fic going?? I think I'm a bit too excited for that one...
Author's Response: I'm glad this found the balance for you, yippee (I hate sappy crap) Thanks! And the Jim/Roy's coming along - being beta'd in parts right now... ;)

Wow, really beautiful.
Author's Response: Thanks, Puff! :)

So pretty!
And yes, I think Dwight absorbed girl!fetus power! ;)
Author's Response: I agree (about Dwight)! Thanks, j :)

That was such an amazing way to write the story - words escape me, but it was really wonderful!
Author's Response: Thanks, time4moxie - I'm glad folks liked the POV. :)

I know you were not looking forward to BabyFic, but this was really wonderful. You captured the voices of everyone so well that it was so easy to figure out who said what. And it wasn't sappy, which I loved. :)
My favourite line had to be, "And also, there's Wikipedia." Is there anything Wikipedia can't do? Such a smartass.
P.S.: Soy sauce and peanut butter = Ugh. ;)
Author's Response: Thanks, Morning Angel! You know, I went onto Wikipedia to find a figure for Kevin's comment (there was none), and also to read up on twins in general. It must not have led me too far astray :)

Shan, this was lovely and warm as being curled up with a cup of tea on a rainy day. And unlike Colette, who somehow felt the yearning to be pregnant again, you kind of made me want to be a fetus again! Sounds lovely and warm...
Author's Response: Hee :) So glad, Par5 - thanks!

ok, as a NICU nurse who LOVES her job, i have to say, this story is THE. BEST. EVER. seriously, can i rate it a 13? wait, that's bad luck. how about a 14?
Author's Response: Awesome, StarShine! :)

Shut up. This was awesome! All the characterizations just spot on (of course could we expect anything less from you?) I kind of love the idea of Pam and Kelly being pregnant at the same time (ha!) and OH, Dwight. You rock, lady.
Author's Response: Re: Pam and Kelly - me, too - I think they'd be two very different pregnancies :) Thanks, pennylane!

Squee! Twins! What more can be said? Love that ol' rapport magic you have going on between Jim and Pam! Excellent Babyfic!
Author's Response: Thanks, Chicgeek! :)

Adding to the chorus of babyfic converts - this was terrific. Everyone's voice was so present - especially Pam and Jim - and with the quickest strokes. It was almost like an impressionistic painting, actually.
Loved how Jim was so loving and still funny. And Pam was...Pam (not easy, even with 2X the words.) This was a gem:
And I'll have you know the next summer games are in London, not my uterus
Well, you restored my faith in babyfic and almost made me think it would be nice to be pregnant again. I said almost.
Author's Response: Wow - pregnancy nostalgia - nice! Thanks so much, Colette, for your notes on voice and character - I really appreciate :)

Shan. Are you kidding me?!?
Even though I knew what you were planning I'm still completely blown away.
Twins? Cravings? Feet rubbing? STOP. IT.
It continues to amaze me how you can say so much with so few words. And though I have no problem whatsoever with sappy, sugar coated babyfic - this completely satisfied my sweet tooth without the risk of giving me cavities. :D
Thank you, my dear. You certainly more than kept up your end of the bargain.
Wow. So...OK. Guess it's really my turn. YIKES. Don't know if it'll match this - but I'll give it my best shot. :)
Author's Response: Yay! Glad you liked it! And you'll be fine... the premise you were thinking of is perfect. :)

They greet us with our names and we know them. We are loved.
This was my favorite part. These two lines are... beautiful in a thousand different ways. <3
Author's Response: Thanks, sherlockelly! I wrote the fic with the last line in mind. :)

Oh, for God's sake. I hate babyfic. They're always so drippy and gooshy and sentimental and wildly, insanely out of character.. Can't stand the things.
And then you come up with this lovely, warm, totally-in-character piece that completely redeems EVERY bad babyfic I ever read. This was sweet without being cloying, funny without being twee, and honest through and through. Please tell me you write professionally, shan, or I'm going to have to throw myself under a train.
Author's Response:
Yeah, I'm not a fan of babyfic, either, or babies for that matter. So I needed to find a way to approach this that I could live with. And no need for the train, although I'm more of a technical writer IRL than fiction writer. Maybe that'll change :) Thanks!

"And also, there's Wikipedia."
Love. This. Fic.
Author's Response: Hee! Thanks, Rose :)

OK I loved this. So much. I haven't actually read any babyfic but this was just...amazing. The babies' voices were incredible, characterizations dead-on...you are phenomenal.
Author's Response: Thanks, tabitha! I appreciate your note about the characterizations :)

Wow. Just frickin' wow. The whole POV of the twins is awesome, especially how they are comforted by their parents' voices. Creature #1 woke me up at 2am with her crying, and now creature #2 is doing her own gymnastic routine, (2 months to go -- arg!) but it's all ok because there is new fic. Yay! Thanks for this, nomadshan!
Author's Response: Thanks, lisahoo - nice to know it appealed to a parent - I was guessing :) (Best of luck to your future gymnast!)

Wow--that was the most touching baby story ever. It was just so sweet...I loved it. You did a wonderful job. I loved hearing the babies thoughts between the scenes. Incredible absolutely incredible
Author's Response: Thanks, Katie :)

So Awesome. Best Babyfic ever.
I know I've said this before but you ahve got these characters down. Love how you could always tell who was talking.
Brilliant.
Author's Response: Thanks, shan! I really appreciate that :)

Oh, I just really like the alternating POV's in this. The witty/fluffy JAM banter, and the poetic twin narration. So good. I can't even pick a favorite part.
What's with the good babyfic lately? Labor Relations and now this? I may become a fan or something. Sheesh.
Author's Response: Thanks, beruco! :)

You pulled it off! A Babyfic! And with twins, no less! Damn, you're good.
I'd have to say that the line that got the biggest laugh for me was this:
Is that a famous person's birthday? How did you know?!
Author's Response: Hee :) Thanks, Beth!

Baby twin POV? Awesome. I really loved this. It's beautifully written and made me smile at every line. Great banter!
Personal favourite line:
Wow. So bossy, Beesly. I think I know who Bad Cop is gonna be.
Author's Response: Thanks a lot, Paper Jam :)
