I love how all the scenes from those episodes - just totally were in my mind, I could picture them! It could be because you described em so well.. of the fact that I ahve watched the episodes a thousand times... who really knows?
I love the image of Pam's tounge sticking out a little bit as she concentrates. Just so cute!
God, rereading about CN still breaks my heart, even though I know there is happiness in their (eventual) future. Still so sad and painful.
Sweet story... very cool use of color.

This is just incredible. I noticed Jim was wearing a blue shirt nearly every episode this season but I never attributed it to Casino Night. And I didn't even think about how Pam was wearing blue in The Convict. It just makes so much sense. This story was beautifully written. So sweet.

I'm sure Jim's wardrobe subtleties are nothing new to people frequently boards I'm apparently not reading, but to me this was an eye-opener, because, as much as I like looking at Jim, I never really noticed his wardrobe choices this season. I just love what you've captured here, and what it all might mean.

Twas not me with the keen eye - twas nomadshan. I simply verified it using highly scientific data (read: pouring over many pics of Jim Halpert - such a tough job.)

Squeeeee! Should I give the writers credit for planning out the shirt colors like that? Probably not, but I'm certainly giving you credit! That was so clever and adorable. The ending injects a little hope into it mkaing it just the right amount of fluff! Loved it!

Okay, I can admit it now. The correlation between Jim's recent shirt color choice and Pam's dress actually has occured to me. But, I never thought of turning it into a story! Amazing. I love the rythm of this - how each section starts with a color. And the part about her making/applying his Halloween costume made me melt a little...I miss 'them.' Lovely, lovely. And glad I'm not the only one nutty enough to see (imagine?) the subtext in an oxford cloth shirt.

Gen I tell you - it was sooo tough. Shan's such a taskmaster. ;) I do think JK looks lovely in blue - and it was probably to make him seem more corporate in the beginning - but as we discovered - he wore blue in 8 out of 9 episodes this season. And when he changed in The Convention to go to Michael's party???
BLUE SHIRT. Coincidence? I think not. ;)

I really loved this! loved the idea that Jim, who to me often seems very deliberate or careful in his actions, on some level allowed this connection to persist, leaving it open for her to notice and recognize. this made me happy

It makes you feel better thinking it was a subconcious choice doesn't it. But I don't think Pam has a clue about Jim's sudden preference...but in my extensive (lol!) research it occurred to me that she wore a navy sweater on the day in question.

Yes! Oh, man, I fail at symbolism! Of course he's stuck on blue. The glow, the dress...
I also love your comparison of his overwashed cream shirt to his dry-cleaned + starched blue shirt - nice! And yes: so many of us were disappointed that Jim didn't give Pam the Christmas card, but of course he wouldn't when she'd swapped his gift so quickly. And this is just perfect...
He pulls an imaginary pin - tosses an imaginary grenade and wonders briefly if trying to move on won't eventually blow up in his face too.
