Another great story! I always feel badly for Roy and Karen. It's not their fault they weren't "THE ONE". This is sweet, and I love the nod to the UK version. Thanks for sharing it!

Author's Response: Thank you!  Yeah, I never get all the Roy and Karen hate either.  I'm glad you liked it!

my brain broke!  this was great.  inventive.  i loved intertwining the UK version, they have so many great moments.  and i really like someone having a crush on karen, she's pretty cool.  this was written neatly.  i'm just really into it!

GOSH, why don't they do a Red Nose day in the US? Maybe one of those Halloween things, with the boxes for coins?

Your writing is very good, though :)

Well, the first review didn't seem to post correctly ... I'm trying again but you might end up with two...

I LOVE this story!  I love how you developed it.  I didn't know about the challenge, so I started off thinking this was the usual Pam & Jim.  And it took a while to realize that this was a totally different viewpoint.  I liked the way the story wasn't in your face about the viewpoint but caused a slow dawning, like a lightbulb coming up with a dimmer switch!

I really liked how Paul cares about KAREN and detests Jim.  I like the cynical outlook of the lead documentarian.  You've made all the characters real.  I wish Paul had grown a bigger pair and not given up!

Excellent job! That's definitely one of my favorite Tim/Dawn moments too.

This is fantastic!  I love the whole idea of this cameraman and what's going on with him and why he's motivated to get Jim and Pam together... very creative and well executed!  (I'd actually really like to see what comes next...)

Dang.  That was brilliant! What a neat perspective on the whole thing. Few fans would be rushing to write an "I love Karen but hate Jim" fic, but I'm glad you did--it works perfectly here.

i just saw that clip for a kiss for a quid like yesterday on youtube, which was my signal to get off my butt and finally read this. and yes, those two need a shove. and if it comes from red nose day and a certain documnetarian, all the better :)

This is amazing. Just...wow. You've created someone, whole cloth, who is real and understandable and complex. You show us Karen in a new way, and Jim, and Pam, too. You also have Michael down pat. In addition, I loooove the way you reference the UK series, here. Just...wow.

Ah, the cameraman's perspective is so awesome - particularly at the very end there, when he just gives up. Also love the use of this storyline from the UK show - best Tim/Dawn moment EVER and you've proven that it would be just as intense for Jim and Pam!

Oh, Jim's sneaking-in-another-kiss OWNS ME!
That makes my stomach all tumbly.

I love this perspective! It's funny how the invisible camera people are just as much of characters as the office folk. Nice job!

AWESOME.
Seriously, I love it when there's a third person talking about kicking Jim and Pam into gear.
But I also kinda want to know more about Paul. I like that he doesn't really like Jim (it's a different POV and actually refreshing) and that he's got a thing for Karen.
Thank you so much.
cheers.

Oh my God.  I have no words.  I'm wordless.  I can't even describe to you how fabulous and perfect I think this is.  The entire premise is just so original and I loved every second of it!  To be quite honest, I've only seen the first three episodes of the UK Office, so I've never seen that kiss between Tim and Dawn, but this makes me want to catch up on the rest of the episodes.

Also, I think the way that you have the camera guy in love with Karen is kind of amazingly brilliant.  There's all of this Pam/Jim stuff going on in the background and the camera guy's idea to push them together totally worked, but in the end, when Karen walks away, he doubts himself as he follows her.

I LOVE THIS!

Ohhhh, this is great. I love his feelings for Karen (man, I was really rooting for it) and the kissing booth and the secret and subtle manipulation of the entire office and oh, this was just fantastic.

Yeah. Excellent. Kiss for a quid makes my stomach bottom out every time. Nice. Great use of the challenge, and I love all the little details of the crew member's life.

I think this is a really great challenge and you've done really well with it. I really enjoyed this for a bunch of reasons... you've taken what we've seen happen on-screen and woven new reasons behind it all... and added your own events at the end. Well written and a great idea.

Wow.

WOW!

So cool.  I love how the Camera Guys are characters on the show, and I love Camera Guy fanfics, and I dig when Karen is shown in a sympathetic light, (I'm a hardcore Jammer, but that doesn't mean I think Karen is a ho!), and it's cool when someone comes up with a new way for these three to get wise, and, and, and... You wrote all these things, you amazing woman you!  Woo!!

Loved, loved, loved.

I love the UK Office and this was cute....I so want this to happen on the US show...let's pray that it does! :)

So sweet, and I love fics dealing with the "reality" aspect of the show - far too many fics forget that a camera crew is supposed to be there! Poor camera dude. The Tim/Dawn moment sounds really cute.

You give all the characters a fair deal and stay very true to their personalities. I love your depiction of Karen and Jim. And Pam for that matter.

And your cameraman is very compelling. I'm so glad that you responded to this challenge. It's such a good one, but I was in no way creative enough to think of anything, and you just hit this one out of the park!

Oh my God, this is SUCH an awesome story.  I love, love, LOVE stories about the cameramen, and I just love how this one's fallen for Karen.  I can totally see how he'd think Jim's a dick and how he just needs to step up to the plate.  And Red Nose Day ... and FNB ... and just... wow.

Your style is really clean and I like how you took the events that we saw and turned them into a different perspective.  Showed how the cameramen ask questions and that they actually have a bit of motive in what they ask.

Yea.  Great job!!!  I'm so glad you wrote this.

Author's Response: I'm really glad you liked the cameramen POV, I always wonder what the camera guys actually think of these people and I don't think its a stretch for one of them to fall for one.  Thanks for the review!

Oh, I loved this so much I don't know where to start. I love th cameraman POV, though; I mean, what you've done with it is amaazzinnngg! I don't hate Jim, but I've been unbelievably mad at him at various points throughout this season, and I love that you got that frustration across, with reason. I love that you made him really, really like Pam, in a dorky, stalker-ish way.

I love KissforaQuid, and I love that you managed to get Jim and Pam together while getting a someone for Karen, too.

Awesome stuff, DinkinFlicka! Loved it!

Author's Response: I'm so glad you liked it!  You are so great at leaving reviews, I always look forward to reading yours and this was no exception! Thank you!

Oh, awesome. Sweet and biting at the same time (some very legit criticisms of Pam and Jim), and this line is just great:

"You’re filming your last shot of the day, listening to Michael drone on about all the money he’s raised for the orphans that Angelina Jolie hasn’t gotten around to adopting yet when you see it."

Heh...so Michael.

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked that line!  I laughed when writing it, Michael is such a goof.  Thanks!
