Geez, BREAK my heart why don't you?  This is so perfect for a rainy day, and I really like your foray into the first person.

Author's Response: I'm so sorry!  It certainly matches my mood and the weather that is for sure.  I'm so glad it worked for you.  I was really nervous!!!

Guh.

That hit me right in my grief bone. But it was beautiful, and the first person POV worked so very well. Wonderful, amazing look into our little Pammy's mindset.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much starblossom.   I'm telling you - I'm having trouble getting away from this one.  So odd - but so true,

I'm very glad you liked it.

I know now that for eight hours every day you pretended I was yours. So true, and heartbreaking when you think about it like that. This was just lovely. I could almost feel Pam's heart skip a beat at the end.

Author's Response:

Thank you Paper Jam.  It is breaking my heart - just how much scares me more than a little. ;)

Hopefully happier days are around the corner.

GAH!!!!
no, no, no! Not angst!! And we were on such a great fluff roll!!
Hee.
But it really doesn't matter, since you're one of my favorite authors EVER.
And damn, we all remember last year!
And yes, it's screwed up that Michael and Jan have it more together than Jim and Pam.
Holy crap.
And you've hit the nail on the head. Pam's still waiting for someone (Jim) to save her and it's exactly what's keeping them apart.
*sigh*
Thanks for this.
cheers.

Author's Response:

I know!!!!  Trust me - it just happened.  I was sooo not intending to write this!!!

She is still waiting.  :(  Hopefully - not for much longer!!!

You're my favorite writer on MTT.  And with great praise comes great responsibility, ie, you have to keep writing writing writing.  So keep it up!

Author's Response:

Oh OK.  Twist my arm.  :)

You are very, very sweet.  And that you want me to keep writing is the best kind of compliment ever.  So thank you.

Yeah, you're definatly about to make me cry in the middle of the coffee shop I'm sitting in while trying to do work. Wow. That was gorgeous. (And will teach me to read fic in public).

More specifically, the last line is done so well and the theme of Jim seeming oblivious is so real. You did an amazing job with the first person and really making it Pam's voice!

Author's Response:

At least I was in my apartment by myself.    Crying is good for you though - and hey maybe someone will feel bad and buy you a free coffee!!

Jim isn't as oblivious as Pam thinks he is - obviously.  I'm sure soon I'll make up for it in another fic...or two...

Wow.  I think the only coherent words that are going to come out of this review are:
"Awwww"
I am such a dork. But I loved it. I can see why you were emotionally attached to it.

Author's Response:

Awwww to you too!!  Thank you.  Sometimes I just need my sappiness validated.  :)

You can almost hear Pam remembering that day long ago through the repetition of the phrase "It's Michael's birthday".  It really drives home the point how much that day meant to her.  I love the way you used it. It's makes the piece really lyrical.

Author's Response:

That's why I had to write this.  I kept hearing her saying it.  Poor thing.  She knows now what we've known all along.

I'm fairly confident she'll start to do something about it now.  We shall see.

Thanks so much for the review.  As I said - it's new to me.  I'm glad you think it worked well!

Ouch! Feeling a little melancholy are we?! It is sad that a year later she's still clinging to the edge and watching it all go by. Very lovely piece hugs.

Author's Response:

Yepper.  Not quite sure why - but there it is.

Thank you.  I really was nervous about it - mostly because I felt like I was Pam when I wrote it.

Stupid Jim.  Turn your freaking chair around damnit!!!

Yeah.  See?  I thought writing this would get it out of my system but obviously I'm still feeling it.  LOL!

You killed me(in a good way)throughout, and then revived me with "such a dork."  Beautiful, sad, and so well done.

Author's Response:

That was the plan bitterpill.  So glad it worked!

Thanks so much!

Oh my GOD, I loved this.  You seriously made me giddy with those last two lines -- I just kept hoping for something, anything.  It was perfect.  That was just ... perfect.  *sigh*

I want to cry now because I'm feeling all sentimental.

Author's Response:

You must be PMS-ing really bad huh?

LOL!  I'm so glad you liked it.  Thanks GreenFish!

This is really beautiful. You captured this so well.  Remember Michael's Birthday was also the episode where Pam had a TH at the end saying something like "I dunno; it was a good day!" because she spent so much of it in non-work bliss (shopping, skating) with Jim.  Happy times.

If only Pam could send this to Jim.  (Yes, I think they're real people.  Don't judge me!)

Author's Response:

I just miss that so much.   A whole episode where you forget that her wedding is coming up and Michael making himself the center of attention in the midst of a cancer scare.  Vintage Office.  I'm nostalgic like that.

Thanks so much for your review.

Not real people?  What? ;)

= ) love this. Made me smile.

Author's Response:

Ahhh there we go!  A hopeful romantic.

I think it is hopeful - after all - because she is aware now.  She can't ignore things if she's facing them.

And if she's facing them - I just keep feeling like there's just only so much she can take.  So thank you!!

Oh - this was beautiful and it made my heart hurt a little.  Actually, a lot.  So sad.

Author's Response: Mine too.  :(  Thanks so much for the review kells.  I promise - I'll try for a happier fic next!

gah, the last line was like the only thing that kept my heart from shattering into a million pieces... it was already pretty damn close, becuase it was such a horribly sad fic. poor poor pam, its so sad. that episode was the first one i ever watched (when it was in repeats), and therefore, holds a very special place in my heart (at lest i think it is the first one i watched, so yeah).

amazingly sad fic, and i need something happy now for those two.

Author's Response:

I know.  I know.  Trust me - my heart shattered writing it.  Such a difference a year makes.  It was sad back then but you were always hopeful something would happen to make it change.

I keep thinking that Back from Vacation was Pam's Booze Cruise and Cocktails was her The Secret

Which means she'll - if my math is correct - she'll also get her own Casino Night.

Fingers crossed!!

It's very late here but for now, let me leave it at this: love it. such a dork is my single validation for being called a dork [fyi, Jim loves dorks!], and I love that you managed to get that out of Pam, too. That's why that last bit? Very nearly broke my heart. They need to stop being idiots, pronto

OK, I love the imagery you've got here, too, from sitting in his car to holding his hand at the rink to watching someone else on the rink trying to let go

OK, I should shut up.

Author's Response:

No you shouldn't.  Keep going.  LOL!   I'm so glad you liked it.  It broke my heart too.

They need to stop being idiots, pronto

YOU SAID IT!
