I admit it; I'm a little too tipsy right now for a coherent review. But mostly, I'm just wondering where you're getting your information from about my life and conversations with Mr. b. This is the second time you've totally nailed my own past! (Pssst, Pam, I finally broke down and had a kid and...it's awesome.)

Author's Response:

Belsum - I swear I am not stalking you.  I think this is part of why we love Jim and Pam - their imagined insecurities are so true to life.

I have no doubt Pam will break down in the end.  Probably won't see it in this fic...but you might see them um...practice. :)

It's not easy for most authors to make me cry, but this chapter had me bawling.  I love this story so far, looking forward to the next chapter :)

Author's Response:

Awww!  Here's a tissue sweetie!!  I'm glad this chapter moved you so much.  I know I've made Jim practically perfect but I really do think he loves her like that.  Truly.  Which is why watching them apart is excruciating!!!!

Next chapter soon and it um....might cause the rating of the story to change.  Just a warning. ;)

That was...so perfectly sweet.  I love it.  I can see Pam being that insecure about her parenting abilities.

Author's Response: I'm so glad you liked it.  I can as well.  She's not going to magically be this overly confident person when she and Jim are together.  Pam is not a risk taker and I think part of the reason why is that she thinks she will fail.  Poor Pam.  Good thing she has someone like Jim!  (...and hopefully she will have him onscreen as well soon!)

Bwah ha ha ha ha ha!  Dwight and Andy in the strip club!  I want to see that myself, actually.  Although, knowing Dwight, I don't think he'd actually put currency in his mouth; he'd probably make an informative speech about how dirty money is, having been touched by thousands of people.

Author's Response: My impression of that scene (and yes - I've actually had to imagine it - SCARY!) is that Dwight is sooooooooo plastered he has no idea what he is doing because I agree - that is an image that normally would not happen.  But I'm glad I made you laugh in any event.  Thanks invis!

Ahh...I needed some fluff..your fluff..after last night's episode.  Perfect, as usual!  Thank you :)

Author's Response:

Thanks kells!  I know the episode was tough - but I really think it's going to be OK.  Remember that Pam did not deny her feelings for Jim when Roy brought it up.  That's HUGE.  So hang in there.

PS - That doesn't mean I won't keep cranking out fluff.  LOL!  I talk a big game but I still like to cushion the blows so to speak. ;)

“She never had me.  Not then – not now.”

Right on, and don't forget that Ms. Beesly! Very sweet and very fluffy but still I love the part about Derriere's and the tape. The best thing is having them go from not communicating at all to sharing everything, even if it means seeing Dwight with dollar bills in his mouth. Perfect, hugs!

Author's Response:

I felt kinda bad about the Myrtle Beach references but I've gone there a million times.  It's all golf and strip clubs as far as the eye can see. LOL!  And that place really freaking exists.   The website is quite....classy. ;)

Can you just see Drunk!Dwight?  How amazing would that be?

Thank you for the inspiration.  I'm really having fun with this one!

First, I so hope you note at the beginning of this chapter about not needing this absolutely wonderful fluff to get through the season (although that will not stop me from reading and loving it).  Second, I love how Pam still has some issues with the Karen phase because that would be hard to get over. And third, I love the part about loving each other even when they were Karen & Roy.  So true.  And four (I thought there was only 3), I love that this story is not complete because it makes me happy.

Author's Response:

I'm glad you loved all the parts you loved. And I love that you've told me so.

Hee!  I'm working on the next chapter as we speak.

I really love this story! I love settled relationship Jim and Pam, dealing with typical couple issues in their way. I feel like there has been so much angsty stuff lately (which don't get me wrong, I love) but this makes me feel like such a happy place.

Author's Response: Thank you Treble.  I'm angsted out myself.  I'm concentrating on fluff for the moment.   So glad you're there w/me!!

AWwwww, I love it!  You're one of the best authors when it comes to showing how Jim and Pam would be together and happy AND interesting all at the same time.  I expect this to go all the way up to engagement, wedding, and Janie Halpert, thank you very much.

Author's Response:

Thank you for the lovely compliment.  :)  LOL!  I have a couple of problems with bringing them that far with this piece the biggest is that it's only supposed to be 2 more chapters!!

I know you love Janie (who has actually been called Emma and Gracie in other stories - I should go back and just make them all Janie except that would ruin a pivotal moment in one of them).  Anyway...I will start to think of a way to feature Janie again sometime soon - since you asked so nicely. :)

I adore Jim's "present" for Pam! So true to character for them both. I also liked that even though they're together there is still some insecurities that surface from time to time. Great chapter! Can't wait to see what you do next!

Author's Response: Thanks LoveFool!!  Exactly what I was trying to get across.  And of course Jim wouldn't bring back anything as mundane as a t-shirt.  C'mon now. ;)

Oh my dear god how did he ever manage to get secret video footage in a strip club?!  BWAH!

There are just so many things that resonate with my memories of the early days of my own relationship with Mr. b.  I can remember the painful, irrational jealousy and the painful, irrational fights because of it.  So real.  It took a lot longer to go away than I ever would have dreamed or admitted.

Author's Response:

With a very tiny camera belsum.  A very tiny camera. ;)

I know just like in life - it's not going to be flowers and chocolates when they finally stop kidding themselves but I'm (obviously) incredibly impatient and need to fast forward.  At least in fanfic. :)

Thanks muchly for your review.  I'm so glad it rang true for you.

Just perfect. And so Jim to video his strip club experience with the Dunder Mifflinites to share with Pam. Too cute!

Author's Response:

Hee!!  It's so bizarre how this chapter came together.  I wanted the title to have a sort of double meaning.  They're fixing up Pam's place and those residual effects of the past year at the same time.

And can you just imagine that video.  Ewwwwwww!  LOL!

Well, I have the same old big grin on my face that I always have after reading your patented perfect fluff. Fluff isn't the right word exactly, though, this is vivid and wonderful stotytelling.

Author's Response:

Yeah I'm beginning to think calling this piece fluff is false advertising.  LOL!  But it's not exactly angsty and it's certainly not a pure humor piece so...I don't know.  I think I might need a new category.

In any event - thanks for the kind review.  I'm so glad you liked it.

Fic like this one make me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. And I need that. I need fluff. I crave fluff. And Lord knows that Daniels and Co. are doling out enough angst to last a lifetime.

Thanks for making this hiatus just a little bit easier.

Author's Response:

I'm with you shannanagin.  I need fluff so I write it - simple as that.

You are quite welcome.  I'm glad I could ease the pain a bit.

Favorite part: Jim reasoning with Pam that he could still love Pam while he was with Karen (It just HAS to be true!) because she loved him while she was with Roy.

Followed closely by Pam being consoled by Michael at her art show being so sad...  (I love those little moments when Michael is sweet and tender -- "never, ever give up".)

Author's Response:

Oh I'm so glad you liked that part.  I was trying to figure out a way to make that point and Jim just flat out saying it seemed to fit best.

And oh Michael. He is quite sweet underneath it all.

Okay, I have not felt this unabashedly giddy and happy since...seeing the two of them in their gigantic sombreros snorting and giggling together.  This was so perfect; as usual, you've just nailed their voices.  (Sometimes your Jim says things that just make me go, "Ahhh!"  So perfect.)  I love it when you give us these little slices of life, because they're always such a great balance of the realistic - of course she'll have a hard time not still feeling threatened by Karen; she's Pam - and the absolute giddy romance of it all.  (This is one of those reviews that I fear will make no sense whatsoever when I post it.)

Anyway, I mean it when I say I hope you just keep adding to this; I could read these little vignettes forever.  So good. [/Jim]

Author's Response:

There are lines in there I feel are especially Jim.  On the phone w/Pam and the bit at the end in particular.

I don't think this is all going to magically go away.  I think even when - (WHEN Mr Daniels WHEN!!!) - they are together this stuff will creep up from time to time.  You can't be estranged for a year without some sort of residual effect.

As long as it ends similarly to this I'm fine w/it.

Thank you so much!  I'm so glad you liked it.

BLAH. my roommate was talking and talking and talking during reading this.... blah. oh well. Yeah, she asked me to button her shirt. this is so wrong.
And then my mom called. And then Red Cross crap. Shesh, the world is combining to not let me read this chapter!!!
How can you break my heart with fluff! all of that talking about the art show!
Okay, you made up for it. But seriously. my heart was shattering.
And then you go and scar my brain with those guys in a strip club. i have to get that image out NOW

Author's Response:

Sorry for the scarring and the breaking of the heart.

In this world one thing is constant.  I will 99.9% of the time leave you with a happy (or at least hopeful) ending.

I PROMISE.

I love all the added touches - they are just so much fun to read when they are doing just about nothing but being happy.  What job do you have planned for them next???  :-D

Author's Response:

And that is what is so beautiful about the two of them.   They are perfectly ordinary.

I was thinking cooking - but that smut fiend ;) Colette wants them to shower together.

The sacrifices I make for you people.  LOL!

Well, I don't know if I said it made no sense...just that it could make more sense ;-) And no need to apologize - not impatient, just impassioned!

Sweet, sexy, funny (love that image of Dwight at the strip club), touching...the perfect combination plate of Jam. Like an innoculation against my schizo bouts of optimism/dread as Thursday approaches. And there are still chores to be done (somehow, I think you could make them romantic while cleaning the bathroom.)

Author's Response:

OK then. :)   I'm schizo right there with you.

Cleaning the bathroom is my least favorite of chores although that room does have a shower.

Hmmm....  LOL!

Thank you for this bit of Jim and Pam togetherness.  And, as you've written, I'm sure both Jim and Pam will still have many lingering insecurities about their former significant others when they do get together.  It's nice to see this among the fluff.  Love the video at the end!

Author's Response:

You are welcome.  The art show bugged me to death and I wanted to see it addressed.  Can you imagine that video?  Trust me - I did and it's not at all pretty! ;)   Thanks so much for the review.

You know, as sweet and delicious as the fluff is, it's the other elements that make this so *actually* believable.  For one thing, they way they give each other shit is just spot on.  It's not vindictive but it's also direct and to the point.  As much as they aren't currently meshing on the show, they really do know each other so well.  Which is why it's so beautifully poignant and honest to have Jim be jealous of Roy.  Still.

This feels whole and complete to me so I can't wait to find out where the following chapters will lead!

Author's Response:

Thank you belsum.  I have to say I just love your reviews.  They are always so insightful.  I really do think when they are together they will act just like this.  The insecurities will still be there, just not all the time.

The rest of it is just as fluffy...so stay tuned. :)

Wow...lovely, lovely, fluff.  I love that you put Target in there (I definitely have the same problem as Pam and Jenna apparently) and that Jim went out of his way to but the movie and that Jim is a basketball coach.  Just wonderful.

Author's Response: HA!  I'm right w/you (and Pam and Jenna too!)  It's like I'm possessed when I step foot in that store.  Of course Jim would buy the movie and Jim coaching is just too adorable an image.  I'm so, so glad you enjoyed the chapter.  Stay tuned for more!
