I really want to tell you how completely unbelievable this chapter is, but I honestly feel like words would only cheapen it.  I will tell you that I am crying and this was completely perfect.  And Pam's speech...  I was ready to break down from the beginning but I actually did when she started comparing her father and Jim.  And Jim looks at her the way her father did.  I loved it.  Please update soon.

Author's Response: Oh good!!! I'm so glad that Pam's speech reads well and that you felt for her.  Thank you so much for the compliments.  Keep reading and reviewing!!!!!

Wow -- the description of their nights together and how disconnected they are from the rest of their days is great.  I felt that knot in my stomach that Jim must feel.

Love this part: "and she knew he would take the awkwardness of the situation and expand it to monster lengths, if she let him.

She decided not to let him."

Author's Response: ;-) thanks.  Love assertive Pam.

I'm loving this story. Sure, we all love The Office for its subtle realism, but sometimes I wish dramatic things would happen to just get Jim and Pam together, already! That is what fan fiction is for! And this story definitely satisfies that need. Your writing on Jim's sensitivity is breaking my heart...as if Pam's vulnerability. Good stuff! I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

This story is great.  At the begining I absolutely hated Jim but now I have fallen even more in love with him (how did you do that?)...this chapter was so cute.  I love Pam being so upset and Jim haveing to take care of her it is just so sweet.  I can't wait to read the rest!

"damn" that was me when I saw no next button at the bottom of the page. I've just read this whole fanfic and I'm so surprised I didn’t see it before. You're brilliant by the way. The story basis is pretty basic to say the least but your in-depth look at palms psychology and Jim’s astonishes of the moment is amazing. I think my favorite thing about this fic is your portrayal of Pam’s father, which explains so much about Pam. Not only that but its not at all a flat character. Its whole and real and I can really see it. Its almost like you have managed to successfully show the other "Daughters father" or like you say the father of a "mother's daughter" I'm so impressed. Really really update soon please.

Author's Response: thank you so much for your review.  I'm glad you're enjoying my take on such a stereotypical scenerio ;-)  I try to update every day or at the most every two days.  Let me know how you like the rest!

I judge good multi-chapter stories by whether or not I have to re-read the last chapter to remember what happened.  I never have to do that with this story.  I always remember where I left off.  Thanks, good job.

Author's Response:

:-) Thank You so much!!! That's awesome.  Keep me posted on how you like the rest.

Classic, schmassic--I LOVE the scenario.  :)

Jim is so sweet in this chapter--well, in this whole story--and the description of Pam's vision of her dad was great.  And Pam finally remembering Jim outside and blaming it on food? Fabulous.

I really love this story.  If I have any nitpicks whatsoever, it's just a little punctuation and spelling stuff.  Very minor, really.  For instance, in the first paragraph, you have "The darkness didn't phase her..." but it should be spelled "faze."

But, yeah, that's no biggie, in my opinion, when the story is this good.  You might consider a beta sometime, but other than that, I loooove it.

Author's Response:

ugh thank you, spelling is so totally not my forte.  You're probably right, I should consider a beta ;-)  Thanks for the compliments and correction! I really appreciate it.

God, I love this story.  This is so, so perfect:

“I’m overwhelmed.” She found herself accidentally meaning every word that escaped her mouth every time she opened it…no sound was wasted, and each utterance felt heavy and deliberate.

Really excellent phrasing you've got.  I'm enjoying the story so much.

I continue to be amazed at your ability to write such a beautiful story.  The imagery - as others have said - is awesome.  Pam's dad at the corner of the house smoking. Jim falling into the hole and Pam not being able to get him out and then that vision turning into her father sitting on top of a casket.  It gives me goosebumps!  This is definitely going into my favorites and I, like your many other fans, anxiously await the next chapter!

He nodded and said ok and told her he knew she’d tried, even though he wasn’t sure why he said it…why he felt like maybe he actually knew what she meant.

This story just keeps getting better and better. I'm completely drawn in. I love how real it seems that they both think the other one wants something different. They need to talk (in your story and on the show!). Great job!

Author's Response: lol thank you! They DEFINITELY need to talk.  Don't worry, it's leading up to that ;-)

I just discovered this story and I'm hooked. How poignant and sad and so evocative of how Jim and Pam feel about each other...for better and worse. And now with the bed situation, you can add hot to the list. It is the classic scenario, yet it doesn't feel cliche here. That scene in the middle of the night is so intimate and sweet....looking forward to more (no bed is that big...)

Author's Response:

Yes! I LOVE one-bed fics ;-)  it always leads to something either humorous or delicious...and clearly I'm headed in the delicious direction because...well come on.  Thank you for the compliments, please keep reading and letting me know what you think!
