Very cute! It seemed like Pam was going to meet a new friend at first, but I like that it turned out to be Jim's ex. I'm glad you'll be continuing this!

Author's Response: Who needs friends when you're dating Jim Halpert ;)  Thanks for reading!

Ahh, the many loves of Jim Halpert. He does look better when he's not so skinny, doesn't he? Great job, and bon voyage!

Author's Response: Thank you!  And yes, I like Jim/John with a little more meat on his bones.  Glad you enjoyed this one!

Hello, my dear Swiffer! What a fantastic chapter! I'd almost forgotten about this story...

Okay, not really. You know I have been waiting anxiously for this chapter especially. :) I love the exchange between Pam and Stephanie at the gym--a really great use of unspoken tension between the two. And it's always nice to get little glimpses into these character's pasts, isn't it? And speaking of Stephanie, you fit her in just perfectly, I thought. Her timeline with Jim was how I always envisioned it, oddly enough. ;)

And how many good things can be said about Jim and Pam's semi-heated exchange there at the end? I could totally hear Pam's stress in her voice, and could see Jim's eyes widen in abject terror at the mention of Stephanie's name. Bravo and excellent as always, my friend!

Have a wonderful trip, and we'll hold down the fort here. And remember--Salzburg is in Austria. Hahaha!

Author's Response:

Hey hey, careful with that geography smack talk ;)

Thank you so much for all the help, Mose; from letting me borrow Stephanie to your constant encouragement even when I'm ready to chuck this whole thing.

Talk to you in a couple weeks!

i love this chapter so much! and way to take this cliche in two directions at once while still being focused! and i agree. jim/john needs to pack those pounds back on.

Author's Response: Thanks for reading, I'm glad you liked it!

loved it...though I still don't understand this upset over "skinny" Jim...I think he looks great, but what do I know?

Have an awesome trip!!

Author's Response: Skinny...hefty...who cares, as long as it's Jim, am I right?  Thanks for reading!

This is a really clever use of the cliche. You melded well the two interpretations into the one story. it's a very fun read.

Author's Response: Thanks! So glad you enjoyed it!

First of all, young lady, do you know how worried we all have been over your absence lately?? I was this close to calling the hospitals!

However, since you have returned unhurt and no worse for the wear and since you brought back such a great chapter, all is forgiven. :)

Seriously...how wonderful is the thought of Michael playing pictionary? The "Big Ben" line, even though I had read it in that early draft, STILL makes me laugh out loud!

So a hearty huzzah for the triumphant return of the Swiffer!! WOOT! :)

Author's Response: I know, I'm so sorry for my recent absence.  Stupid work and its stupid conferences.  And I'm so glad you liked the chapter! What a relief to know that I haven't completely lost my ability to write ;)  Thanks so much for all the support Mose!

"He smiled and couldn’t remember the last time things seemed so clear."  What a perfectly beautiful line.

I really liked this!  It was funny and sad and she finally said she loved him. Yay!  And the way you used the cliche was perfect!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for reading, I really appreciate it!

I was a little bit confused that playing Pictionary with Michael and Jan was anyone's idea of heaven, but then I caught up. Heeh. Adorable as usual.

Author's Response: Thank you! Yeah, not exactly the idea double date, but whatever helps the creative process right?  Thanks so much for reading!

Okay, so, yeah. I thought the highlight of today would be the arrival of my "Moonlighting" dvds on Netflix. Then I hop onto MTT for a routine story check and see this story from out of the blue (the Wendy Blue!). THEN I discover that it's easily my favorite chapter of the series thus far (even though I say that with every installment). This one takes the cake with it's rockin' "Gone with the Wind" references (you must have known that would win my heart!), the seamless dialogue, and your best integration of the cliches yet. All the previous chapters have been fabulous in their subtleties, but this one was simply genius. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, my dear! Your writer's block is most definitely a thing of the past!

Author's Response: Oh GMMBBG, how I adore your cheerleading :)  It felt so good to post this and I couldn't have done it without all of your ra-raing.  Muchos gracias for everything mi amiga!

Didn't get to this til just now, but so glad I read it!  My mom did something like this for my stepdad and got him a Stan Musial card.  He got a little teary eyed, not gonna lie.  Great idea for a sweet kid!Jim moment :)

Author's Response: Thanks so much!  Glad you liked it :)

Yeah, baseball card collecting is soooooo lame.  I recently found my husband's collection from his childhood.  All I can think about is organizing it, that's kinda like cleaning, right?  Anyhoo, lovely job!  You had me at 'She found them...'

Great stuff, really enjoying this series.  As someone with boxes and boxes of baseball cards in my basement I got a particular kick out of this one.  This was no trivial gift by Dwight, by the way.  That card is worth at least a hundred dollars.

Author's Response: Let's just say that the value of the card was unknown to Dwight...one of the many things he's ignorant about :)  So glad you enjoyed the chapter, thanks for reading!

Lovely, as usual. You handled the ever-difficult task of writing Dwight and Angela beautifully. Another wonderful chapter to a wonderful story!!

Author's Response:

Thanks darlin' (I stole your word, hope you don't mind) and thanks so much for all your help last night!

P.S. You did not sign your review properly.

Okay, I may have pitched this to you, but you, my friend, knocked this one out of the park! (as long as we're going with baseball metaphors!) Or, to put it another way: I may have given you the chocolate, but you were the one to stick in the peanut butter and call it Reese's. :)

So many wonderful things about this chapter (aside from the brilliant idea...), from a dorky 11 year old Jim in a Phillies' cap that reminded me a little too much like an 11 year old Mose in a Reds' cap for comfort, to Pam's incessant quest to find the card that was so important. And the exchange between Dwight, Pam and Angela was brilliant! I could totally believe that Dwight's family collected "American sports" paraphenalia (probably divert suspicion from the House Un-American Committee in the 50's, yes?)

Anyway, aces all around, m'dear! The excellence continues!

Author's Response:

Reese's is my favorite candy in the world.  And now I'm craving some.  Anywho.

11-year-old Jim in a Phillie's cap was inspired by a Dodgers game I went to last week with my dad, as i watched other 11-year-olds running around in their jerseys and hats.  So cute.  Makes me wish I cared more about sports.

Like I said, you were the brains behind this whole chapter, I just typed out some gibberish and hoped it made sense.  And I'm so glad that you enjoyed it! Thanks for everything, Mose!

Sooo cute! I love that she wants so much to give him something, even though to him, she has already given him everything he wants. Adorable!

Oh. my. god.  11 year old Jim with long shaggy hair sticking out from under his Phillies cap.  I could just melt.  So adorable.

And Dwangela!  That was the squeeworthy part!  How'd you manage that?!?   You had me at hello.

Author's Response:

I know what you mean, I think they need to show us a picture of him like that on the show.  Because I don't think enough people are in love with him.

Hehe glad you enjoyed Dwangela, they're so fun to write!  Thanks for reading!

I never deep clean, I deep organize... about twice a year, I go through everything I own, and it just gets organized the heck out of. But then again, maybe I just don't have the right house with the right guy... :)

“That was never a secret,” Pam said with a smile moving towards him and slipping an arm around his wait.
I really hope that was a mistype and you meant waist :)... or else Jim has a wait that I am not aware of hehe.

Loved that Angela helped out... and that Dwight is the posessor of the card.

Eeek! I better review, its a new couch and I don't want a crazy!Tom on it!!!

Author's Response: Woops, totally missed that typo.  Thanks for catching it!  and thanks so much for reading!

I heard that song at Walgreens today...interesting.  And did you know that "Carry on..." is playing in the background when Roy and Kenny destroy the bar?? you probably did... :)

Author's Response: Actually, I had no idea that's what that song was.  Weird!  To be honest, I just went on iTunes and found out what the most popular song of theirs was :)  Thanks for reading!

Heh, wow you follow up one great chapter with another... and interestingly enough, I'm going to let you in on another couple secrets.  Secret Three: I really really really hate dogs.  They scare the ever living bejeezus out of me.  Small dogs, big dogs, doesn't matter.  But this puppy, despite it being a dog, is so incredibly cute.  Are they really like this?  Who knows.

Secret four: I love cliches.  Adore them, even.  I love reading what some might consider "cliches".  I even had a big literary debate over the merit of cliches once with a friend of mine.  And I do love yours, I hope it goes without saying.  Even if these don't seem to bad too me.  OH well.  I love it.  So get that next part out, mmmmm'kay?

Author's Response: What?? How can you be afraid of dogs?  I just think you haven't met the right one yet, they're oh-so-cute and really very harmless.  And I'm glad you like cliches because otherwise, well, I have a feeling you wouldn't enjoy this fic.  Haha thanks for reading Doof!
