i think it is realistic. i like that jim is conserned about her and pam's all defensive. i could totally see this conversation happening.

Jim's 'yeah, okay' I thought was especially in character... a bit passive agressive... I have always wondered if he would say something to Pam about Roy's aggressiveness... There are basically 2 schools of thought... ;) But, yeah, hard to say. Either way, I think you did a nice job here.

This was great.  I loved how Jim pushed it.  He didn't often challenge Pam, unless it was something big.  He wouldn't just stand by and say nothing about a violent Roy, right?

Awesome!

Author's Response: That's what I think, that was a pretty big outburst from Roy, and I can see Jim, once he got over the shock of Roy getting in his face, getting concerned that that's what Roy does to Pam at home. So, no, I don't think he would stay silent about something like that.

This is completely believable as to how a conversation between them would follow that incident, if they addressed it at all. Jim wouldn't be able to keep his opinion completely to himself, and we've seen Pam several times get defensive when her relationship with Roy is called into question. The only real alternative I could see to this conversation is that they would avoid the topic altogether, be a little awkwared but pretend it never happened, which would also feel like Pam to me.

Author's Response:

Yeah, that's kind of the idea I had behind this chapters, that this is how it would go IF they addressed it at all, there's probably going to be more chapter like that (like pretty much all of Season 3).

I also have this idea that Pam, especially in the early episodes, was super intimidated by the cameras and before them she was a little bolder with Jim. Jim said in one episode that he listens to Pam complain about Roy, yet we really only heard her say a handful of negative things about Roy, so I'm thinking she turned to addressing him more in IM.

Anyway, long story, I felt this was realistic, but I don't know how other would feel.

I think that was very realistic, especially the "hey" from both of them at the beginning. Kind of like there's so much to say but they don't know how to say it...so instead they just say "hey." And also Pam using Angela as a way to get out of an uncomfortable conversation makes sense too!

Author's Response: Thanks, I also can imagine both of them not knowing if they should go to the other's desk (or just not having the courage to) so they'd break the ice with an IM.

These are really cute. You manage to capture their voices in such small snippets. Nicely done!
