Nice job!  I imagine there'd be a lot more impulsive drives than it seems they have on the show.  2.5 hours is no big deal, really, when you want to see someone. :)

Author's Response: Hi TLK!  Yeah, like I was saying to someone else before, I can get that GD & Co. want to create some angst/tension by keeping them apart, but in reality you know that a measly few hours in the car wouldn't be enough to stop them.  But that's what fanfic is for, I suppose.  Thanks so much for reading and reviewing :)

That was so perfectly written, you captured their feelings beautifully. I can imagine them making a few of those unexpected visits to each other because they can't imagine spending a night alone - so yay, excellent. I hope we get more of these =)

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the kind words, Hannah!  I'm glad you enjoyed it, and yeah...you know they're trying to see each other as much as possible.

Lovely story, kells.  I know Greg and Co. want us to feel how much they miss each other, and that's fine, but they're only 2 hours apart, so a few unplanned visits either way wouldn't surprise me at all.  This story fits the bill perfectly.

Author's Response:

I totally agree with you, EH. I mean, I understand where they're coming from, and of course I can deal with this particular brand of tension/angst on the show, but in reality I know that if I were Miss Pam Beesly I'd be saving my change for gas money to be driving to Scranton for regular booty calls, lol.  I can't believe I just typed that ;)

Thanks for reading and reviewing, as always!

kells, yet another post-engagement fic from you that makes me so happy.  I just love the idea of Pam trusting her instincts and taking off to see her man.  Her hesitation on how to enter their home (*sigh*) is really endearing.

I really enjoyed your references to the sense of smell:

-The steam from his shower is licking against the doorframe and I can smell his shampoo, his shaving cream and it makes me feel something that I can’t explain. Warm, safe, happy? I don’t know. It’s indescribable.

-It smells like him and I plan on tucking it in my bag in the morning so I can have another piece of him with me while I’m hours away in another city.

-His sheets smell like him and I consider maybe taking a pillowcase with me tomorrow, too.

All are so vivid and sexy.

Speakin gof sexy:  The towel is slung low around his waist...  and this:  Ready, waiting, wanting. Yum-my!

So, in summary, surprise visits, towels slung low on hips, passionate sex and coziness are all good.  And so is this story.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much, NanReg! I hadn't realized how many smell references I had in this, lol.  And of course I had to have Jim in a towel...who wouldn't want to drive two hours for THAT?

I always appreciate your kind reviews, my friend.  Thanks again :)

He bumps his hip against mine as we brush our teeth and the look in his eyes tells me that driving here tonight was the best decision I’ve made in a long time. Besides saying yes at a roadside gas station, that is.

absolutely perfect, and so very them.

& pam taking jim's stuff with her... amazing.

wonderful, wonderful story. if only we could really see this stuff happen.

Author's Response: Hi SpoilerAlert!  Thanks for the kind words.  And yeah - I would pay good money if we could see this sort of thing on the show ;)  Oh well, a girl can dream, right?  I guess that's what fanfic is for!

You know those king-size down pillows? I bought three, put my bf's pillowcases on, laid them in a lengthwise row and slept with my back to them so the bed felt normal- two months away from him was way too long. In other words, I totally appreciate the focus you put on how much they miss being physically close, in ways other than sex.

Really glad you wrote a second chapter- love the mood and descriptive language, and you've really nailed Jim and Pam (ugh, TWSS). Thank you!

Author's Response:

Aw...the things we do when we miss someone, huh?  For instance - I took the ESPN bit from my husband.  He's always got that on, especially when he lays down at night.  So when he's away for work I normally put Sports Center on because it reminds me of him :)

Thanks for the kind words, variella!

My phone doesn't like letting me know I have a message either. Except, Jim Halpert never leaves me a message. He's so rude.

I always feel weird about not knocking on doors. I mean, plenty of my neighbors have told me just to come in (usually they are expecting me, but they probably wouldn't care either way), but I have this compulsive need to knock.

I love how she feels home. Just, she's in Jim's apartment, but she's home. That makes me happier than it should!

Okay, so this is weird and random. But the fact he has a towel on when he thinks he is alone. Because yesterday, one of my friends (who recently moved into their own place) had their facebook status as something like how excited he was that he could be naked all he wanted. And so, that in itself was disturbing and made me laugh. But of course that's what I thought of, that Jim apparently doesn't walk around naked.

She wants to take bits of him away with her. How sweet is that?

Happy. :D

Author's Response:

:)  EH, your reviews always make me smile.

Now, I don't mind Jim Halpert without a towel, either - I'm happy either way.  Seriously though - thanks for reading and reviewing!

So great. What a lovely continuation of the episode. I can totally see this happening. You write them so well, with really vivid descriptions and minimal dialogue. Their connection is so real in this. I could feel the melancholy of their separation and the joy of their reunion. And wow, reunion sex. One of the best kinds. ;-)

Author's Response: Ahh...yes..reunion sex.  It's right up there with make up sex, lol.  I'm glad you enjoyed this.  Thanks for reading and for the kind words, Blanca

Ah, kells, this is made of lovely. I am so in love with this season so far and this bit of filling in a gap was just wonderful. You just made my lunch break better :) Thanks!

Author's Response: Hi Callisto!  Yes, I am loving the feel and pace of S5 so far.  Good stuff.  I'm sorry you're working today, but I'm glad this cheered you up a bit.  Thanks for reading and reviewing :)

This song is on my JAM playlist so you had me at the title.  I like to think this is what happened even though we'll never see it. Lovely!

Thanks for writing and I hope the next time will be soon.

Author's Response: I love this song...I first heard it years ago and it's always reminded me of them for some reason.  Thanks for the kind words, jinx!
