::prod, nudge, poke::

Where's our update, lady? :)

Author's Response: Sorry - Christmas, company and then we were out of town for several days. As soon as the tree's down and the mess is cleaned up, I'll get at this - promise.

Apologies for not reviewing earlier. I am loving this take on the Halperts. Very true for many families I think. I can't wait to read more.

Author's Response: Thanks so much, khand3stooges. Gotta get some wrapping done and then I'll get cracking on the end.

Welcome back, ole friend!  Aren't you a sight for sore eyes?!  Ah, poor, poor Jim.  You have me so nervous for him.  Glad he got out of the classroom alive.  Looking forward to how you resolve this.

Author's Response: Thanks, Nancy. Haven't seen your mug around this place much either. I'm not sure what it says about me, but I love to write about Conflicted!Jim. He's got some reflecting to do this time.

Ooooooooooh loving it already. Poor Jim, being outdone by the Croc Hunter of Scranton. I loved how you mentioned Cece wasn't embarrassed by him. At six, our dad is (usually ;)) ALWAYS awesome, no matter what they do :)

Author's Response: Thank you, Hannah_Halpert. I agree, 6 yr olds always think their dad is the business, but hopefully Jim will figure that part out. Appreciate the read and review!

Evil, leaving it there!! Liking this so far, jazz. I've liked all your last Jim-pov stories, you've got him down pretty good. This is an interesting take on what might kick-start him into really wanting to look in another direction for his career-- curious to see where you're going here.

You really want them to have a son named Daniel, don't you? :) I like that name too.

Author's Response: Sorry about the stopping point - it was the only logical one. Really. I'm tickled you like my Jim POV stories. He's the character I think I understand best on TO so I tend to write from his POV a lot. And yes, I was mortified by the name CeCe (My Jim and Pam wouldn't have named a kid CeCe in a zillion years), so dammit, they need a boy named Daniel. LOL Thanks so much for your kind comments.

I love just so many things that this chooses to be, Jazzfan. First off, this is named for one of my absolute favorite songs - and so clever, you! Paper Moon...ha!  Also, my dear your turn of phrase is incredible in this piece: alphabetic misfortune...really? That's awesome. One of those turns of phrase you wish you would have wrote yourself.  Speaking of phrasing, your Jim voice is perfect here. I can absolutely hear him thinking these things...and I'm sorry but were you a fly on the wall during my student teaching assignment last year??? I kid you not there was a fireman, a zoologist, AND a guy who worked for Marvel Comics at this 1st grade career day.

This is the fic I've read in quite some time...I'm so glad I did.  Looking forward to the next installment.

Author's Response: Oh wow, thanks so much, LoveFool. Marvel Comics? Awesome! What poor schmuck had to follow that dad? LOL Paper Moon is a great song - I still prefer the Nat King Cole version (except of course, for my son's version) and what other kind of moon could a paper salesman live under, after all? Also, I have become a victim of alphabetic misfortune since I married someone whose name starts with a "W" and I can tell you it is very, very real. And I appreciate all your comments muchly.
