Very nice narrative overall. I especially liked Jim's vocalisation in the last paragraph :r0;Shhhr30;Pam..heyr30;itr17;s okayr30;Ir17;m here.r1; He whispered as she sobbed into his shirt. The feeling of her against him warmed him and she smelled exactly as he had remembered. That hadnr17;t changed. He closed his eyes and let the feeling of her in his arms wash over him r11; the suffocating feeling in his chest seemed to subside r11; until he heard the door of the roof open.
And what a nice cliffhanger too!

This is sad and realistic and very nice. I like the pacing of this sentence, it leads to a very clear visual: It was like slow motion…watching the realization of it all hit Karen…and he couldn’t do anything to stop it.

This is a great point: He hadn’t stopped to think about what she’d been through. Almost as good as Karen starting to put together more of the details. (Yesssss!)
