I like this very much. I like the choices you made in how Karen tries to create a new & improved Jim Halpert. None of them fit. And they're so telling about her.

This is a holiday inspired fic based on Season Two's Christmas Party. A look into what inspired Jim to get the teapot, and why Pam swapped Dwight for it. From there, it is an AU look at what happens when Pam realizes that Jim took back the infamous Christmas Card and why she's desperate to find out what Jim wrote.I love Jim's note to Pam. I think you perfectly hit the tentative quality it would've had. Very nice story!
Author's Response: VB, I cannot tell you how many versions I made poor Brokenloon read, so I'm happy it worked. I really wanted to write this sappy note, but it didn't ring true to me, so I went this route. I've been worried people wouldn't like it because it was less romantic, but I'm glad it seemed right to you. Thanks for the review, it means alot to me that people are still reading.

Author's Response: Thanks! We never really saw any of the aftermath on the show, so of course it's up for interpretation, but I imagine it must have been pretty gut-wrenching for everyone involved. I mean, calling off a wedding just days before? Youch.

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Vampiric Blood. It seemed, throughout the NYC sections of The Job, that Jim seemed to be putting a little bit of effort into being focussed on Karen. I thought maybe a scenario like this might explain why.

Which is why hopefully people who were reading this were kind of confused about what the hell I was doing. Pam married Roy, but Jim's return to Scranton complicates the life she thought she wanted.
This story is really good. I've been avoiding reading it b/c I thought it would be just too damn depressing to have Pam married to Roy. And it is. I hope she ends up happily divorced!
In the meantime, while we're waiting for those papers, you're doing a fine job of building the tension.

9 I love, love this chapter. Pam's anticipation at Jim's return is just so sweet ... and you know will be short lived. I love the vision of her preparing her apartment for the guest who won't arrive for months.

A very cute ending. I like how you brought in Dwight & Andy, too! Especially enjoyed the last few lines.
