Wow! First off, so happy to see an update! You took me by surprise. I mean, I know this is the bizarro world of S3 but I didn't anticipate the merger. I like this version of it because it eliminates the element of Jim feeling responsible for Karen's move to Scranton. [Just wanted to point out, by the way, that at one point you mention Jim moving to Stamford rather than Scranton] I'm enjoying Pam's bond with her baby-to-be, her happy and protective feelings. I also like that Pam has a support network. So excited to learn what you have in store :)
Author's Response: First off, thanks for catching that typo, geez, I shouldn't edit at one in the morning. Yeah, I wanted Karen more accountable for her own actions but more so, want this story to be about how Jim and Pam's own stubborn and obtuseness get in the way of their happiness. I really wanted to give Pam a support network because the whole story would be too depressing if she was alone as she seemed in season three. So glad you're enjoying it and I hope you like what's coming up next!
Spaceorphan, I just discovered this story and had the absolute pleasure of reading all three chaps at once. Plain and simple, I love this! Despite this being AU, your characterizations are true, and you beautifully weave in bits of familiar elements while keeping it fresh. I hope you're able to update regularly, because I can't wait to read more.

Good morning! I was hoping I'd find an update and you didn't disappoint. Excellent job at integrating Cocktails (and Women's Appreciation, to a lesser extent) into this universe. You're very good at fleshing out peripheral characters. Marcie is a nice addition, and I enjoyed getting a glimpse into Uncle Jim's interactions with his niece and nephew. My heart broke for Pam, her pride at fixing her own garbage disposal and then learning that Roy wasn't being selfless. Light beer??? So funny--good job :D Here's another instance where I appreciate Pam's support system. Keep that writing hat on, ok?

Finally, a bit of a do-over. While still frustrating, yes, they are getting closer and I for one am relieved--relieved that Pam and Jim have some sort of dialog, that Pam's not giving in to Roy, that issues are slowly being addressed. You're keeping me on my toes, that's for sure :D
Author's Response: Yes, it is a bit of a do-over and while season 3 continued to prolong the angst, for my story, I'd like to set them on the right direction earlier so it's not at the last minute that they get to where they need to be. ;) Issues will be addressed! 10 Holy SHIT!!!!!! OMG! Wow! Thanks for that. Just knocked over my cup of tea which landed on my keyboard. Thankful it was nearly empty. OK. Whew. Let me compose myself. Here I am, feeling all sad and teary for Pam and SHE TELLS HIM!!!! SHE TELLS JIM HE'S THE FATHER!!!!!!! I just didn't expect it...and it was AWESOME! Again, wow. Oh and please, please, please don't hold back the chaps. There is room in the kingdom for everyone. I am enjoying italianfood's story, too. It's like Christmas, I tell ya :)

Such a warm and wonderful dynamic between these two, and I adored the office interactions--so funny. Thrilled that Pam's pregnancy isn't getting in the way of their killer chemistry. Squeeeeeeeee!

As addicted as I am to the delicious angst, this chap brought a nice sense of relief. I particularly enjoyed Phyllis and Meredith hitting on Jim :D In addition to allowing you to showcase your comedic writing ability, I think you succeeded in moving Jim and Pam's budding friendship forward a step or two. Anxiously awaiting more. Seriously.

Oh my goodness--that was soo incredibly sweet! He loves her so much--it's beautiful <3<3<3 The office shower, on the other hand, had me grinning like a fool. Your characterizations were spot on, and I loved that they were all dying to know details of the baby's conception. I actually laughed out loud at this: “You know, I did someone in Philadelphia once,” Creed joined in. “Mid-December, 1971. Against a hotdog stand. I think she’s dead now.” (I'm laughing again, just so you know)

At nearly 6,000 words, I am in love with this chap :D I had to sneak off to my bedroom to read it uninterrupted! The baby is nearly here! I have to admit that I was disappointed that David Wallace interrupted sexy time. I was curious to see how you (and they) would navigate that situation. I wasn' t sure whether they had gone down that path yet since they wised up. I gotta hand it to you, spaceorphan-- you continue to find novel ways to weave bits of canon into this AU story. I have no doubt that this finale will be something special. Can't wait!

Lots of fun revisiting this one :) Since I know you appreciate honesty, one thing that takes me out of the story a little (although it's at the beginning, so I got right back in) is the amount of alcohol they consumed. Seems a bit excessive. Maybe that's just me, though.
